Hi there!
I recently bought an Xperia SP and had it unlocked fully so now i can use any SIM.
But it seems that there is a problem: my phone is slow. I only have a handful of apps installed, nothing is programmed or working in the background or Sync is turned off.
I checked the OS and it is still stuck to Android 4.1.2 but the official Sony Mobile website says the latest is 4.3.
Is there an app to help speed up my phone?
Why is my phone not detecting the 4.3 update?
Please advice. Thanks.

Search google for Sony XPERIA SP C5303 - Android 4.3 - firmware 12.1.A.0.266. The site is called xperia firmware (i would post the link but im not allowed. Once the phone is updated you may need to restart the phone like i did to get up to speed (mine was incredibly slow after first boot)

Oh yess i'm confused :fingers-crossed: however before the upgrade it is another thing
Maybe just reflash the firmware and see if it gets better (4.1.2, as 4.3 has a big chance of bad RAM management)
It seems like there is also bad information dessimination by Sony Mobile by the looks of it.
Sony is preparing new update for our device...

Regardless of "conflicting" information from either "reliable" sources or Sony Mobile the update is very slow in appearing.
I brought SP yesterday that come with 4.1.2, today i update it to 4.3. Simply Awesome!
By the way, I am from Bangladesh!

BattTemp - Battery Temperature Monitor for Xperia Z
(no I couldn't think of a better name!)
Updated to version 6.0 that fixes diamonds on the gauges on Marshmallow. However I cannot update the attachments here! Any future updates to this "project" can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/battery-temperature-monitor-oneplus-3-t3483690
Yes it says OnePlus 3 but its the same app that works fine on Xperia Z
Thanks, your app is also working on my Xperia SP
And my Xperia SP is using Stock ROM
Your app is working on Stock ROM :good:
it seems to be working fine on stock, thanks for the app
Working good on xz stock jb 4.3
Sugest may be you should put link to this page on app to make easy share.

haven't tried yet. But battery temp alone is not that important.
It would be awesome if you could include SoC temperature as well. Trickster Mod app and others do show SoC (CPU) temp.
Sorry for the necrobump...
The temperature of the battery is more stable (fluctuates less than CPU/SoC) but still gives a good indication of how overworked or how much sun is being caught by the device.
Anyway I updated the first page. The app is a bit more updated and now on GitHub
https://github.com/rlees85/BattTemp
Thanks and will test it on my xz
I was searching for the simplest app for battery temperature, just teperature nothing else. And here it is. Thank you. I works on stock ROM, JB 4.1.2, galaxy s7390 .
I deleted some SmartShare (or something) apks for my camera, and it seems it doesn't work anymore.
Anyone knows a link to where to get the vpks again? Or another solution?

I understand. Unless you don't want to upgrade your Android version, and I don't see any possibility of porting it back to latest camera that we're having now in 4.3

Hi,
i have a Xperia Z1 with non-unlockable Bootloader. I just love AOSP-Roms but those Roms are just for UB. But can someone make a AOSP-Rom for LB? I think many Users would love that...
Please post questions in the Q&A section,
Thread moved
And to answer your question. No, it needs an unlocked bootloader as AOSP roms require a different kernel to the stock Sony one.
Just to add to the above answer: no, the kernel is different so therefore since you cannot flash a custom kernel on LB, you won't be able to use AOSP.
I think he means use Sony kernel but try port aosp to sonys firmware
And why it work for xperia sp?

Well i can see that all of that "features" can be made only with root access and Xposed framework modules, and few mods.
Deep in framework, rom is still close to sony stock rom.
For example, everything you can make with apps or mods, except OTA update (for pac), and CM themes.
Everything else is pretty much on google play, and some mods on XDA.
If you want pure AOSP feel, you need to unlock bootloader, this is, how to say, kang version of PAC.
If you say me how to get the flip settings from AOSP on 4.4.4 i would be happy
There is an xposed mod for it

Considering the fact that Android 5.0 was released just a week ago--No. We'll have to wait.
Considering the fact that XSP is not officially supported by Sony for software updates--Hell No. We'll have to wait even longer for a port. Hopefully CyanogenMod brings salvation!
Good day and God bless!
Hit thanks if it helped!
waiting to try L ROM on SP
I can not wait to take out the first version of L for xperia :silly::silly::silly::silly:
The source code has not been released yet, so we will have to wait a long time to even have first port...

I have tried many things on my xperia sp to make it look like Android L..
Like Nova Launcher, it have slideup animation when u open App
It even have that balloon animation of app drawer..
The button like android L, still i want android L.
I want Project Volt
I wouldn't expect L any time soon, UBL have a much better chance of getting it as they have Kernel choices but even then they need to get it working with our hardware. LBL people are probably out of luck but theres a tiny glimmer of hope that it can be built.
PA + Herathon theme + Nova launcher is what im making do with until then.
