[Q] Is my note superbricked?

Hi,
Tried to install Kingdroid 1.5 yesterday. since than I'm trying to fix my note with no success.
This is what I tried to do:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1652831
I failed to do the following step:
-We went into recovery and install this kernel without leaving the recovery going to advanced and reboot in recovery
And the rom was not installed successfully.
because of panic, tried to restore my device to stock ICS from a previous backup - failed.
Tried another backup of GB - Failed.
Tried ODIN for Stock ICS and succeeded.
After success on this, tried restoring again to my previous backup, and since than I'm stuck on " factoryfs.img"
Tried Abd, but my device was not recognized on 3 Win machines and 1 linux box.
I have download mode available, and also recovery mode.
Currently, I'm bricked, thinking to take it to the shop I bought it at...
Any other Ideas?
Thanks a lot!

If you have download mode available, then you're not bricked, only soft-bricked perhaps.
Try flashing again with Odin...
From my knowledge, superbricks occur when wiping on an unsafe ICS kernel, such as old i9220 leak repack, LPY...

CM9 kernels, based on i9100 update 4 are safe. That makes official Cyanogen Mod 9 Nightlies and ROMs like Asylum and ParanoidAndroid safe
From his post I got that he was able to flash official ICS with Odin once, meaning it didn't get stuck at factory.fs...so...might be still hope
From what I get, we should add another one to the long list of hard bricks.

If you are stuck on NAND write, factoryfs.img you are super bricked. Sorry......
I'm guessing you tried restoring your backup in CWM??
My Galaxy note is stuck on black screen no response from buttons just black screen.
This was after I did a wipe data and installed CM9 rom.
What options do I have, will one of these jtag dongles help me?
I just saw some ebay sellers offering an unbrick service for about £21 (im in the uk) where you post it to them to fix.
Any help appreciated

What is SOD ?
Yes pulled the battery, but cant get anything from phone. Even if I put it on charge nothing.. just a black screen

try to put the phone in download mode though the screen is not seen and connect it to odin and see if it gets detected.

You are Superbricked. Get your phone to a Samsung Service cetre for the motherboard replacement.
JTag is not an option here, it won't work.
ooopppsss ok thanks.
I even tried re-partitioning using Odin and PIT file. seems that it is always stuck on the same spot.
Fixed!!!

Woke up this morning, my Note was dead...

Hi there,
I had no problem with my Note until this morning when I woke up.
My Note was turned off, I tried to turn it on, impossible.
I plugged the usb wire and I saw the battery logo and it was fully drained.
It's weird because I usually hold 2 days with my phone and yesterday, before sleeping, the battery was almost full.
More than that, I use Green Power, so all the connectivity services shut down during the night, there's almost no battery consumption.
So, I tried to turn it on, many times, impossible... it's stuck at the blinking Samsung logo.
I use the LQ2 rom with the Franco's kernel R5.
I've also tried to wipe cache & Dalvik's cache in recovery, but that doesn't change anything.
I'm beginning to be a bit worried because I've red some post on the forum saying that the Note's CPU can burn...
Please help ! Thanks !
are you overclocked? but even if you are, if the device goes into deepsleep, it can't burn...
i wonder what really happened..
How long have you had Franco 5 running on it?
I got stuck at flashing logo when I tried to upgrade from Rocket ROM 3 to 4.1. Ended up having to do factory reset. Now on RR4.1 with CF kernel. Hoping it stays stable.
So if all else fails do the factory reset as per ROM instructions and hope that gets you through.
I don't overclock the device, I try to run it as simple as possible, as long as I have Gmail, I'm happy.
I don't know what happened... I was running Franco's R5 since the day he released it, without any single problem !
I'm now on a Windows, I'll try to run Odin and flash it.
Yes, no idea what appened.
But the best is to flash a wipe stock Rom from Odin PC.
How to check if my cpu is not burned ?
I flashed a new rom with Odin, the phone doesn't boot anymore...
The file I flashed: http://www.hotfile.com/dl/159007364/ad4ff19/N7000XXLQ2_N7000OXELP6_SER.zip.html
What can I do more ?

I hope your PBA is not cooked like mine. I was on franco's kernel too before I could revert back to safety, it was dead. Are you able to get in download mode? When flashing or wiping, do you get errors on datafs or factoryfs?
If you have warranty, Samsung service center

What do you mean with PBA ?
I can go into download mode and before flashing the rom with Odin, I could go into recovery without any problem.
I don't have errors with datafs and factoryfs.
I think my phone is dead... ok I have to live with it... but I really would like to know why.

PBA is the motherboard. Does it get stuck at Samsung logo or nothing happens at all when you press vol up+home+power?

First of all the CPU is fine, since you see the Recovery screen.
From Recovery flash Abyss 4.2, reboot Recovery (from Advances).
Wipe user data, Cash and Dalvik Cash,
Flash any ROM.
I had a very similar problem. Resolved by reverting to Franco R4.
Good luck!

When I do that, before flashing the latest rom, I was going into recovery.
Now that I flashed it, I land into a "Android system recovery (3e)".
It's a blue menu like the CWM Recovery but with less options.
I suppose that this is the default recovery system bundled by Samsung...

Now that I flashed the original rom, I lost root, how can I do that ?
When I first got my TMobile Galaxy S2, the first day it died completely while I was sleeping. I tried turning it on and I would feel the vibration of the phone trying to turn on but it wouldn't. I figured the battery had drained so I plugged it in the charger, but the phone wouldn't stay off and charge, it would try turning on over and over. It went into a crazy bootloop. It was my first time with the phone so I thought it went crazy and called samsung.
Eventually the phone got enough of a charge to power on completely without shutting down. I eventually realized that if my phone died completely, what I had to do was use my Car Charger, which didn't turn my phone on and showed me the little battery indicator showing it was charging.
I don't know if this is similar to what you experienced but hope it helps.

a similar thing happened to me earlier,
I would advise you not to have wiped anything whilst on ICS even with franco kernel.
If you can go to download mode, do so then using pc odin flash a stock rooted GB rom from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1535025
then flash cwm recovery. following this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1329360
then wipe data, cache and everything else.
you should be back to GB then flash whatever rom you want, I would advise you to flash paranoidandroid which is superb.
the only difference I had with you, is that i did not wipe data or cache whilst on ICS so this may not work for you as you have done that.
But this method worked for me.
Ok, I'll try to flash the GB rom, and I'll be back to get you update of the situation...
I think I'll be back on HTC soon... I don't understand why the phone reacted like that...

[Q] Note won´t boot, never flashed a ROM!

Hello,
my Note won´t boot since yesterday. I went by car, used it as a navi device. After an half hour the screen was dark. From this point on i could´nt boot the Note. I took out the batterie, the SIM and the SD-card, tried a factory reset. But nothing happens.
There is no stuck in Samsung logo as i found in other threads. Nothing happens.
I never flashed any foreign ROM. Only used the stock update to 4.0.3, but this was months ago.
Any ideas?
Thank you
MyPass
Have u try after changing the Battery ? or charge it using Charger .
Are you able to go download mode?
If so flash a gb rom using pc Odin.
By the way you shouldn't have reset, when you were with stock ics.

How old is the battery? As dsmas says, try download mode, if you can enter that then flash stock gb with pc odin. If battery is over 10 months old its likely you'll need a new one.

Charging the battery should be the first step.

No errors but is it normal that it lasts so long? 4 hours? Then a guest battery drains and the the process is interrupted, it says "Removed". Gonna try again.

I am also experiencing a very similar thing. When on battery, the tablet boots up makes it to Android desktop then anywhere from seconds to a few minutes it will reboot and the cycle continues till the battery is completely drained. I have tried factory reset, flashing image via odin, clear cache, no changes. However, if I have the tablet connected to USB on PC works perfectly. If I plug it to a wall charger like the original Samsung wall brick it experiences the same reboot behavior. I've tried replacing the battery but it made no difference. Also tried different USB cables. I've run out of ideas. Any suggestions?
I have the same issue. It's driving me crazy...
Anyone solved it? It keeps rebooting and asks me smart switch but can't recognize it.
I have the same problem. Model SM-T713.

@bonuzzz, do you have any more information about the issue? How do you know it's not a battery problem and that flashing will fix?
Seems like others have tried flashing stock rom and still have the issue, so is it because they used the wrong stock rom?
I have just tried the solution from this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/tab-s2/general/tab-s2-8-0-rebooting-t3734388/page2
First results are very promising...
I tried to reset the saved wifi connections as mentioned in another thread.
I couldn’t believe but that's the issue...
So if your tab-s2 works with wifi off, just remove your saved connections and replace them with new ones
EDIT: My T813 does random reboots again, even with wifi off. It lasted over a month with renewed wifi...
