4.3 bugs...Xperia T...so far... - Sony Xperia T, TL, TX, V

I don't know if this is something for a new thread but anyways...
For the bug with the charging I found a solution by using Save Charge wich is free from the market and for the bug with the speaker coming on when you pick up the phone I use auto speaker again free from the market...I thought it's a good idea to share this here...

[REQUEST] Global G-Sensor calibration app/hack

Hi, I am sorry if this has been posted before else where on XDA but i cant find anything on the development thread.
Is it possible for someone to make a G-Sensor calibration app that works globally for all apps on the phone?
I have the problem where if you say, use the layar app, the horizon is not level and driving games always go to the left for example.
I have rooted my phone now so cant send back for warranty. Surley a global calibration app for rooted users would be quite simple lol? not that i am a developer haha.. i have no idea, but surley its just a case of adding a number to part of the code for the g-sensor driver heh heh
Hope someone can help!
p.s Who else has this issue?
P.s. I just read on this this thread that Modaco's alpha 14 ROM contains g-sensor calibration in 'settings, sound and display and @ the bottom G sensor calibration'??
Is is possible for someone to get the bits requred to enable this on any rom that we can just flash an update.zip to get working?
sorry for putting this post in the development forum, i saw some other requests and assumed that was the place for it
so, Bump, any devs have any idea if its possible?
Bump
Calling all devs! :O) Does anyone know if its possible?
not one single person has anything to say about this? sigh...
bump from me too...
lastes cyan has issues after laying on a table.
It won't go to portrait mode.
i'll see if i can find a way to pull that little tidbit from their code. i found this while trying to find a way to unscrew my compass. i thought there was a way to calibrate it.
does anyone know where the g sensor or compass physicly is in the phone? i'm guessing in the gps box, but i dont know. in the early days of my G1, it sailed across the room a plenty due to the lightsaber/sword/fishing/gun apps. some call it Wii syndrome. i may have broken the damned thing.

Woah, I thought I was the only one with this problem.
Setting the phone on a table pretty much guarantees it going into landscape and I have to tilt it back up and forward to get it back into portrait before laying it down again.

Juice defender

Any one use this app? I feel it helps greatly when the phone is asleep. When I first install it it tells me aosp was installed but cannot be enabled. Anyone have any idea what this is/does and how it affects my phone. Also had anyone upgraded to ultimate juice? Is it worth it?

Am also interested in this for the vibrant.
oo whats juice defender do?
I use it. Hard to say if it's really doing any good. All it really does it adjust your settings (limited with free version) to prevent unnecessary battery leak. I'm not sure though if it's doing anything that I wasn't already doing WITHOUT the extra app on my phone.
I'm going to give it a few more days and see. I want to like it. Besides, it makes my notification bar look like festive.
Looks like it's helping for me. Sometimes I feel like my email doesn't properly update during the little 1min window though. I see emails on my phone later than I think I did before.
I don't recall that msg OP posted when I installed but I am also wondering if it is worth it to buy.
the free version seems like its doing its job for me. got more hours out of my battery today than i did yesterday.
I feel it helps the most when I make a phone call. When the screen is off so is data. Before JD the battery would drain like crazy. Now I only lose about 1% from making calls. I get more battery. I'm curious about ultimate though. Would it help that much more

Need input on how G2X functions as a phone

Considering buying the G2X in 3 days although I am having serious misgivings after reading some of these threads which list the serious issues this device seems to be plagued with. I would greatly appreciate any feedback on how the device functions as a phone such as call clarity and volume through headset and speaker phone clarity and volume. Also apparent signal strength etc. Any and all help is warmly received.
I had the 2x for a month nov. And i will say that the phone have some problems.but its a great phone, and many people are working on it, so it will be a very good phone. I will recommend it to every body. Sorry the bad english.

Thanks so much for your reply. Could you tell me how the sound is such as the volume and clarity with speakerphone and head set also the GPS?
The sound is god. Also with speaker. I had a desire hd before, muts better sound on the 2x. I think the small problems with this phone, will be fixed. And we will end up with a fantastic phone, and very very fast.

Thanks again I probably will
I have the phone since last friday (Vodafone Germany tho) and it looks like I got a good one lol... I also read all those threads here weeks before getting it and actually made sure that I wouldnt have any issues getting a new one from Vodafone if I had lots of problems.. turns out I dont. Had a few forcecloses the first day (even F-Secure crashed but I never ever launched it so far) but since then not a single one. Also no reboots or major laggs or something similar as reported in that other thread.
The sound quality is actually pretty good, way better then the Nexus One, the speaker is way better.
GPS is fast enough, didnt experience any trouble at all.
But I am going to install a Custom Rom as there are a few lagg spikes when launching apps and stuff but nothing really bad. I just want to see how fast this phone can really be
Also, keep in mind that the device we'll get in the US will be different in build and software from the international version. The speaker/mic combo will most likely be similar, but things like GPS and call quality can vary drastically because they're based on software.

Good point! I use GPS a lot every day and most of the day. I have a Vibrant now and the GPS leaves a lot to be desired. Teetering back and forth as to whether to pull the trigger and get it or not. Probably will though. Been waiting for it to come out for awhile.
I had a Nokia N8 at home, it could find satelites really quick. The LG2X can't.
The speakers are really the worst hardware part of the device.. really bad sound it's the biggest negative. Overall it is a great phone , the best phone I've ever had, and enjoyed the most.. just too sad the soundquality + speakers is really bad imo.. but my contacts told me that they can here me very good.. so its just you suffering on that not the callers -_-
I can just recommend it. But with the sidenote you to check those things by yourself first live, if these attributes are really that important to you, so you don't get disappointed after.
Would like to hear your thoughts of it when u use it, i believe they could have improved G2x compared to the LG2x, cause it has other messsurements and vanilla android so i guess they reacted to the feedback which was given by the buyers.
Sorry for this long text xD
PS. Just tested GPS again.. and it found within 30 seconds within the building =) GPS is fine!
Every phones has its problem. Nothing is perfect. The o2x as a phone is good. No major issues about it. And after installing paul's MCR, it became a lot lot better.
GPS works fine for me. It just depends where am i. There are places where i can only get a fix after 30-60 seconds but most of the time i can get a fix for 5-10 secs only.
Hey guys, thx for the opinions.
At this moment I have an HTC HD2 and after having owned a numerous number of HTC's I am fedup with them. It seems they make models that always have some issue either batt wise, speaker wise etc.
As I use my phone mainly for gps is there someone who can upload a video on youtube showing the startup with gps status or something?
Also my HD2 has/had a quick lock but the receiver fails in other departments like having jitter on the output making the gps go in crazy steps or circles.
I would also love to see a video of how the screen looks in sunlight and how the speaker sounds when you are using the device as navigation in the car.

Thanks so much for your kind input. This is just the kind of feedback I need to make a prudent decision. My only phone is a cell phone so I need the phone part to be first class as well as the GPS which I use on a daily basis(also hourly). Still undecided oh well I guess I still have 2 more days to make a decision.

GBP 19.99 on play.com in the UK if you want it - I think it it too bulky - new version is better on pictures at least looks like proper watch - I use mbw-200 instead

I'm waiting for the pebble personally (getpebble.com). Eliminates the problem of having to press a button to see the time.
Thanks!

Yeah but with that watch you can't read text messages, missed calls and stuff like that.
With the Liveview you can and it's a steal at that price.
The MBW-200 is still too expensive !
this may not have something to do with the deal, but since it's about liveview...
guys, i just updated mine to the latest firmware available via Sony Update Service, but I still have disconnection problems. is that suppose to happen? any solutions?
i saw a number of posts about fixing the issue by using an app called MinFree, but aren't those tutorials intended for the old software of LiveView?
and lastly, since the issue is about android killing the liveview app, will converting it to system app solve the problem?

I updated mine a while back and it was better but not perfect. I use Go Launcher and have it set to not kill this app. THis app is a godsend... I have next to zero disconnects.

jeez.. i think i wasted money here.. i was hopeful all the bugs were sorted out already since almost all threads about its bugs that i read were almost 2 years old.. and that the latest update came 2011..i feel ripped off.....

There was another app that was not on the market that was free it also worked well. I dont have my phone with me right now but when I find the app I will let you know. Did the above app not work?
Thanks for the time helping out an "accessory noob" guy jgregory! Nope I didn't try that app yet. Apparently my unit is kinda working good now after the firmware update. It has been connected already for an hour without disconnection, only some type of freezing on the device that forces me to turn off and on again the devicE. But it's really rare now. I'm gonma do an overnight conmection test, see if it disconnects while I'm asleep.
These accessories are actually on sale in our country. Yesterday I bought MW600 despite negative reviews, but I'm actually impressed with the headset. It has good battery life. 4 hours into music and the battery indicator is still at full. I just hope it doesn't go into some sort of cardiac arrest like most reviews talk about.
I'm happy that the LiveView can control the music on my phone using PowerAmp whilst using the MW600 simultaneously.
These accessories are so cool!

Yeah once i got the disconnection problem resolved this things sweet. I use it mostly for music streaming to my headset..... hey I was going to PM you but theres no option for it on your profile....
Oh jeez I don't know why. Must be because some disrespectful kid was bugging me and dropping crap on me via PM and I reported him and the mods interfered. Maybe you could try again.
Anyway, what messaging app are you using? I'm using GOSMS but apparently LiveView doesn't support it
I don't use the stock messaging app because it looks worse than a command prompt window. Haha. Any workaround you know of?

[Q][ROM] Turn your Optimus One into a media player

So I've moved on from my Optimus One as I have a new phone, but the device still functions well.°
Instead of putting it in a draw, to spend the rest of its days cold, alone and unloved, I could use it as a WiFi only device. Think something like the Ipod touch, which is simply a WiFi only Iphone.
My plan is to build a custom ROM that strips all of the cell radio stuff. Not just remove some APKs, but really remove it, so Android acts like a device with no cell radio. Like a mini WiFi tablet or a Samsung Galaxy Player.
How many others would be interested in this project?
°I bought a new phone after I killed the p500 by accidentally interrupting a flash to stock, however it came back from service as good as new...
Well, sounds good for ppl who are using o1 as their secondary phone...However completely remove any trace of cell radio is kinda drastically for most of ppl who are using o1 as a phone first and then as a smartphone.I could never use this kind of rom.It will be a little tough to find some positive feedback, however this is a big comunity,I m sure there will be some ppl who will enjoy this project
Is a really good idea, a Ipod is some expensive, so, you go to buy another phone, like me, this will be very useful to give the old phone use ... maybe this will help, and much
sorry the bad english, i speak spanish
> Interesting Idea, for I soon to change phone too, making it like a galaxy player will be a good deal.
I love the idea. As many people are switching to newer phones, a rom like that could prove to be very useful. I'd be very interested to try this out.
it's just a matter to delete phone, mms and contacts apk's, put an iphone launcher and some random music widget O;
Remove your Sim card. Tada!
I am interested in this, as once I obtain a new mobile, this is what it would likely be used for.
Sent via radio waves from my nexus 7
Sounds good, if you keep GPS functions intact then it could be used as a navigation tool as well as a media player. Battery backup should be given a priority too.

good answer, well atleast we can use our beloved Optimus One only as a music player with removed SIM.. with PowerAmp offcourse
No radio huge battery
nice idea I personally only use my lg phoenix as a media device and for free voip wifi calls.
That would be very interesting, I might change my phone this year Any plans to include a XBMC-like app? But only with music functions, to use for (e.g.) a party? Including streaming, equalizer, visualizer (yep, I'm asking too much...).
good idea for this prehistoric android, I'll help

One thing that pisses me off about Apple is how they classify prices by the Gigs.
For Example.
8GB iPod - 200$
8GB Flash Drive - 20$
Few questions:
- Will it JB?
- Does removing the cell radio stuff make the ROM faster than the ROM that runs in airplane mode?
- Will it include customizations to make music quality better?
First build is complete!
I'm flashing it now and I will leave it for a few hours to see if there is anything draining the battery. If it goes well I might upload it.
I have already moved to note2 and p500 is sitting in the drawer. Definitely would like to try this
