[Q] battery problem - Nook HD, HD+ Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all
My nook HD+ was bought In November last year at B&N. But the battery made me crazy.
When full charged, I can use the nook for 1.5h (just internet surf) and the battery goes down 100% to 40% normally. It is not bad. But from 40% the battery goes down so fast and sometimes it is turned off suddenly (battery down 0). When I charge, the battery immediately goes up 40% and charged from 40% to 100% normally
Plz help me resolve this problem. Because I m not in US , I can't exchange the new one.
Thanks

I have the same problem. The battery would suddenly go down to 1% and I would rush to charge it and suddenly it would go back up. So I just ignore the low battery warning and the HD+ still runs for about 3 hours surfing the net and watching videos. Strange your HD+ would turn off suddenly.

[Q] Battery problem?

Hello,
I have an unlocked HTC One and I think I have some problems with the battery. For example, in the morning when I unplug it from charging and it's 100%, if I use it for like 5 minutes then the battery will drop by 6-7% and I don't think that's normal.
Then I was not at home today and I had like 19% and I decided to power it off. Then I turned it on after like 10 minutes, I had 7% left. I left it on for 10-15 minutes without using and it dropped to 2%. I turned it off again and then I turned it back on after like 5 minutes and it had 6%.
What is going on? Should I do a clean install of the software? I'm using ViperOne 6.2.1.
Thank you!

might be some app that is draining your battery, to confirm with gsam battery monitor. Maybe a rom/kernel issue or a bad battery....
Alright so I've done what the guy advised here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2765655
Apparently it fixed some of the problems but I still fail to understand this thing: so last night I had 73% battery left. I turned off the phone and then turned it back on after 5 minutes, I had 68% battery left. Why is this?
Also, sometimes the battery level shown while the phone is on does not coincide with the battery level shown in Recovery TWRP. Why is that and what can be done about it?
Thank you!
There is no way to know precisely what proportion of total charge is in a battery, it can only be estimated. Temperature, current drain, and many other factors affect the estimate. I think you're expecting too much.

[Q] My 1 year old Nook's battery (stats) is doing weird stuff

So I've never had a problem with my battery at all. I easily got 6h of screen on time and everything was great.
Recently my Nook started to randomly shut off at around 20-30 %. It "popped" and it was off. Didn't reboot either. Like the battery was dead.
I would have to charge it again to be able to power it on.
Also the stats seemed to be off. The lockscreen sometimes told me it's fully charged and whenever I unplugged my Nook it wasn't fully charged. The battery LED also sometimes flashes green/red during charging.
I only get around 2-3 h of SOT at the moment.
I tried reflashing a couple of times (with full wipes) but the problem occured again.
So my question is: Are my battery stats messed up? Does it just stop charging at a certain point because it thinks it's fully charged but it isn't in reality?
Any ideas (on how to fix this)?

It's almost sure that you battery is degrading very fast. But its my advice to re-calibrate your battery. Set your screen brightness to max setting and leave it on until it shuts down. Now don't power it on. Leave it charging for around 2 and half hour.
Now install geekbench benchmark app and test your battery.
If you heard a pop noise, the battery probably delaminated/micro-exploded. (Li-Ion's tend to swell and fail from the heat of (over)charging.)
There's a company, newpower99.com, who has a YouTube video on replacing the battery in the HD+. The battery sold for $25 US last year, but now that our batteries are beginning to degrade, they're out of stock.
I found another site selling replacement batteries for $80. (portatronics.com)
I've noticed that my screen-on time has dropped from 6 hous to 5.5. Maybe the Nokia N1 will be available and rooted by the time I hit 3 hours.

I'm having the same issues, and reading this reminded me of trying BatteryCalibration to reset the battery since my nook HD+ stock OS is rooted.
I had this problem several times before I installed CM. Usually, it happened when there was an update available, and when the Nook started to update, it factory reset itself.

N920G/CRB1 update/battery

So before I take this bish in for a battery swap is anyone running the CRB1 Feb 9th build update and facing bizarre battery life activity?
Example-
After couple days of random battery % jumps after updating I completely killed the device last night. Charged it all night while device was off, turned it on this morning and unplugged it. Immediately upon disconnect from charger it dropped to 81%.
Had crap to do so ran around a bit. Got back home phone was on 10% so plugged it in. Soon as I plugged it in dropped from 10% to 5% then watched it count down 4% 3% 2% 1% then 0% in the matter of 15 seconds but stayed on and all while plugged in.
Maybe I should just use this as an excuse to buy a note 8 or hold out for the 9 lmao

Well I already read it before, but somehow it helped me once on my note2, I have no idea how it happened even though it wasn't supposed to but it did.. So i figured as you are planning to change the battery anyway why not give it a shot?

xperia z3 compact tablet Battery Draining easily

Hi Fellas,
I had this Sony xperia z3 compact tablet that i bought from swappa earlier this year. It came working and in perfect cosmetic condition but after about 2 months of usage the battery started draining out very easily to the point that the tablet can be 65% charged and the next moment it's shutting down. Lately it got worse as it shuts down even when the battery is 85% charged. I've contacted the seller and sony nd nothing helpful came out from them. I need help on how to get this battery issue fixed so that i can enjoy my tablet like the early days. It's running android 6.0. Thanks
Having a similar problem with my xperia z3.
dont understand what's happening with my phone. Have old Xperia Z3 D6603 (running android 6.0 marshmallow).
Had problems with battery since it was not lasting even 5 minutes so bought a new battery from ebay and installed it yesterday.
So first time I put it to my phone it showed that it had 70% of charge. I've read in battery description that I have to discharge the battery and recharge 3 times.
First time I wanted to discharge from 70% to 1% and with a battery discharge app + youtube 1080p videos + wifi signal it took only around 1 hour and phone was at 1%. From 1% till complete discharge it took me extra hour and then phone died.
I plugged it to charge and after 15 minutes it showed that battery now is at 100% (which is insane, it should take 2-3hrs to charge it up to 100%). So I charget it for 2-3 hrs ignoring that it said 100% already.
I discharget it from 100% to 1% in 1 hour and now again phone is stuck at 1% and it took me 2 more hours to discharge phone until battery died completely.
I don't believe that this behaviour will fix itself. How can I fix this problem so that battery percentage would be distributed evenly? Now it drops from 100% to 1% in 1hr and then from 1% to 0% in 2 hrs.

Battery charging issues.

Hello, I'm encountering a weird issue with my phone.
It seems to be happening when I don't fully charge the phone, even though it's kinda random.
The issue is that the battery is draining damn fast after charging the phone. The first screenshot shows how I lost ⅓ of my battery in 14 hours without having touched the phone. There's a difference between the beginning curve and the ending curve, that's because I tried to reboot my phone.
I do have AccuBattery installed, which is an awesome app. And it actually shows me than during this interval, I lost around 600mAh (see second screenshot). That should represent 15%, which would be a good value because I'm usually losing around 1% per hour. I shouldn't have lost so much battery.
So.. it seems that the battery is not being charged at 99% at all? I think my battery level has some issues. Because when charging, it usually stays at 100% for around 20 minutes, but is still charging according to AccuBatrery. This can be noticed on normal charges (third screenshot).
If a charge from 19 to 100% charged about 3300mAh and a charge from 7% to 100% charged about 3620mAh, my last charge from 10% to 99% shouldn't charge only 3400 mAh. And that's related to my problem of "phone is still charging even at 100%".
I already tried to empty my battery and fully charge it, I already tried to wipe cache, the issue is still coming back.
Is anyone else encountering this issue? What should in order to fix that?
Thanks in advance!
Bumping. Any idea? :/
Here is another screenshot showing the battery is being discharged with ~2000mAh
