[Q] memory various versions? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note

Hi,
I am shopping for a T-Mobile Note 3 (I am getting rid of AT&T)... mostly shopping online, on craigs list.
I am confused because I have seen several ads from people that say things like "16 Gb Built in" or "32 Gb" or "64 Gb"
I am assuming that this is NOT referring to the SD card, that can easily be swapped out, but to the INTERNAL memory, that CAN NOT be swapped out... My questions:
1) What variations di they make? 16 Gb? 32 Gb? 64Gb? (I thought they only made 32 Gb!!!??)
2) Where on the phone can I find out what it has?
3) If they sold different versions, can the internal memory card be swapped out?
Thank you for any help!
Danny

Max Memory Card size?

Anyone know the maximum card size the kaiser/vario3 supports?
I am thinking about getting a 6Gb microSDHC
Got a 6Gb in since Saturday. Works a treat.
32gb max even though it is not available yet.
Essentially, ANY SDHC card available as of today will work in the Kaiser.
Sweet, god this fone roxs, so pleased i didnt get the limited iphone!
I asked HTC about this when I first bought my Kaiser. They told me it would support up to a 4GB micro SDHC. There have been other posts with people who have successfully installed a 6GB card but have found problems when trying to access files and the phone has locked up, so beware.
8G
I have a Sandisk 8Gig in mine... works perfectly.

I think most of that has to do with crappy quality SD cards.
I've never had a problem with any Sandisk card I've had. 1,2, and 4 GB
The reason for HTCs ascertion is simple. At the time of production of the Kaiser the largest SDHC microSD card available was a 4GB card. Therefore, they could only certify that it worked with 4GB cards at that time. And, as far as persons having issues with their phones locking up while trying to read from a 6GB card, I would venture that no matter which card that person(s) was using they would have experinced a similar fate due to whatever it was they were doing at the time.
That said, I have no reason to believe that SDHC cards up to 32 GB will not be fully supported by the WM6 OSes currently being distributed. Furthermore, I anticipate that future revisions of said OSes will equally compatible.
Hi guys,
Sorry to re-hash this thread, just wondering...
I'm about to buy a TyTN II off a friend in work, and wondering if someone could advise me the best card to buy?
I'm a massive music buff, and love my current hermes, however 8GB isn't enough these days, and itching to have more music to beat the iMoan.
So far, some digging has found me this: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/155755
Would that be suitable for the TyTN II?
Thank you,
I currently have a 8GB Class-4 sandisk card in my Kaiser and it has worked perfectly since I installed it last year. I have some TomTom maps and a load of music and its about 2/3's full. I have been looking for a 16GB but have held off so far. 7Dayshop.com have some 16GB MicroSD cards starting at £32.99 delivered, but these are only Class-2.

According to the information I have, the 8925/Kaiser/Tilt, etc, will support at 32gig microSD card.
From what I've read, the Tilt/Kaiser will support up to a 32 gb, although 16 gb is the largest out.
However, I also read that it will only read at Class 2 speeds. Anyone know if that's actually true? If going to class 6 will give me more speed, I'd definitely go for that when I upgrade my card, but if not, there's no reason to pay more for it.
Anyone know when the 32 gb cards are supposed to come out?
Always buy a Name Brand Card and From a Reputable Dealer and you won't have any problems.
There are a lot of nefarious people out there that trick 2GB cards to act like 8GB cards and by the time you find out, because of locking up and data corruption they are gone with your cash. Don't cheap out when it comes to your data.

16 GB micro SD card not available at my vendor

at this very moment; so anybody having found out, whether a 16 GB card would work in Touch Dual?
we
I only have a 6GB, that is working very well!
Where do you find 16GB Micro SD? I dont think it is exist at this moment.
There is no such thing as a 16GB microSD, at least not outside a testing lab. The biggest on general sale is 8GB.
SanDisk has also announced a 12GB which is due out at summer. They expect it will actually be 16GB by the time it comes out.
What I am surprised about is that I haven't seen other companies get more quickly to the 6/8 range. With smartphones going to only one slot, the larger cards are helpful.
My preference would still be TWO microSD slots, so I could use one for work and the other for interchangeable media.
Well I guess if you have $200+ lying around you could go here...

I know nothing of this vendor, but its the only site I've seen so far offering 12/16GB Micro-SD.
Looks as though this will remain out of my price range for some time.
Enjoy the 16g card out in nov

Max SDHC Cards

Hi All,
I have a AT&T Tilt/Kaiser and I was looking at a 32GB SDHC card. I am told that the device should support it but I just wanted to see if someone could confirm this. The only stuff I could find is that it should "technically" work.
The other question I have is about the type. it seems that there are two types now kind of like SD and SDHC? I've run into a few different ones and I'm not sure if they are the same with different marketing or completely different formats.
32 GB Ultra II SDHC
32 GB SDHC Class 6
32 GB SDHC Class 4 Flash Memory Card
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
You need a "Micro SDHC" for your Kaiser. To my knowledge, the largest available is 16GB that just came to market (SanDisk)
And if you really want to understand SD flash memory, go here.

i'm so confused, android apps download to internal or sd card?

hi. thanks truly for reading this.
i was reading through this forum and i was going to buy a SD card (sandisk class 4, everyone seems to agree is best).
people say it doesn't matter what size you buy if i'm just going to stick with one rom like cm7.
what i am confused is people also say that an advantage to rooting vs putting it on my sd card is seomthing about APPS downloading.
i'm confused, can i not use apps or download a lot of apps if i use an SD card? if i buy a big sd card (16gb), shouldn't i have a lot of space?
last question. is the sd card people are buying the sandisk ultra series like the one below?
http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Ultra...7HQK/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1308541691&sr=8-2
I just did this the other day and had a million questions (that people helped me with), so I can definitely give you an amateur's perspective (although I did a lot of reading here beforehand).
Yes, it seems SanDisk is the card to use, and not too high a class. This is the one I used: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001B1AR50
and it works great.
I put the CM7 on the card because I want to be able to revert the Nook to the original system without a lot of fuss. And I also didn't want to risk screwing things up. I have never rooted my phones, but when I saw this using the sd card, I was all over it.
It is my understanding if you install to the sd card, it occupies it entirely and you don't have it available for extra storage. I'm sure someone will come around and correct me if I'm wrong. I don't know if you could partition it, but that's over my level. So rooting the device would give you more room on a card for apps and media if you need it. But you can still install tons of apps directly on the NC. I think people who actually install movies would run out of space pretty quick, but other than that, not so much.
I followed verygreen's directions very carefully (and still had questions), and things worked out really great. I think the NC with mods is totally unbeatable. And these people here who do all the work so we can enjoy it are amazing.
I used a combination of these links for the process yesterday:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1000957
http://quinxy.com/2011/04/01/comple...c4-android-2-3-gingerbread-on-the-nook-color/
Maybe it depends on what ROM you are using but from my experience you should still have room left on the MicroSD afterward for installing apps. I used Racks11479 Phiremod/Honeycomb dualboot image for mine and still have over 4 GB left on my SD card partition using an 8 GB Sandisk MicroSD. The instructions I used are located here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1045018
When you burn an OS to a card, you are actually burning the OS to one partition of many on that physical card.
Typically you'll still have a large partition called 'SDCARD' which acts like an SD card, but is still on the same physical card.
So moving files from 'phone' to 'SDCARD' just changes if they are in the 'apps' parition or the 'SDCARD' partition -- they're still on the same physical device.
The emmc (internal) memory is not accessible when running a ROM from the SDCARD (unless you do something to change that fact).
thank you very much for the replies.
just to confirm, are the sandisk ULTRA cards the one people are buying to use with it?
My Class 4 Sandisk 16gb did not say Ultra though it is probably fine regardless since the consensu is Sandisk seems to be a reliable maker.
CM 7 on the uSD makes four partitions. 1st partition is called boot. 2nd and 3rd partition are not accessible. 4th partition is the largest, and is for storage of Apps, music, videos, etcl. On a 16gb card, you have about 13gbs in that 4th partition so it should be plenty for loading up stuff.

[Q] Just got my Note! Where's the memory card?

Hi Everyone,
So I received my Note I ordered from a company in Vegas today. I think they imported it from Poland, it says samsung.pl on the box. Everywhere I have read indicates that the Note comes with a 2 gb micro SD card. Mine did not come with one preinstalled or anywhere in the box that I could find.
Anyone else in the same boat? Did yours come with the card? What country is yours from?
nope, no memory card in the box, just 16gb onboard storage.
no memory card in the box . ( UK )
Everywhere I've read so far says the Note comes with no bundled MicroSD card.
Anyways, why would you want a crappy free 2gb one anyways? I'd rather they not give me one as use my own 16gb class 10.
Mine was the polish model too.
Google samsung galaxy note "2 gb included" - someone probably included it in a press release and it spread like wildfire - then Samsung decided to not include it.
I'd want one because it's free. Better than nothing.
I'd probably end up buying a larger one anyway - was just curious if anyone received one with their phone.
I have two from different sources, no ext.SD card.
no memory card, enjoy the note
No way Jose for the SD Card

Giving the price of microsd card is cheap now. I suggest to get a 32Gb class 10. You won't regret it
