Cyanogenmod? - Moto X Q&A

There appear to be CM builds for the Moto X. Why isn't Cyanogenmod in the original development forum? I'm not inclined to install anything that isn't a topic on XDA.

Hmm. If it's official enough to be listed on Cyanogen's own site, why wouldn't it be listed here?

The maintainer probably sold his Moto X, the nightlies seem to have ended almost as quickly as they began.

Nightly versions of cm11 are still being worked. On get cm,the latest is 3/19

For the Moto X? http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=xt1060&type=nightly, I'm seeing they started 2/13 and stopped 2/18.

They unified the builds for the moto x, there was an announcement on CyanogenMod website. I flashed 3/19 nightly and only issue I ran into was speakerphone not working
Here is link for the moto x nightly

Yep, just flashed the most recent build on my XT1052, and it seems to work just fine, except for the speakerphone.. waiting for the devs to fix it, but for now it's all cool!

Sorry to hijack your thread, but it appears you gotten CM working and there is not a CM forum for Moto X. I will be brief:
Does "Active Display" still work or has it been removed?
Can you still install "Moto Assist"?
Can you still install/use "Spotlight" player?
Thank you.

No, no and no.
No Moto x exclusive features work on custom roms, unless they are stock based.

I had atrix one with cyanogen. And it was equipped by finger scanner software. It was a feature of an stock firmware.

I can understand the Active Display feature. You couldn't go to the play store and install Motorola Assist once CM is installed? Both Motorola Assist and Spotlight player are in the Play Store.
Thanks.

Can try. But I think without the official Motorola firmware, it won't install.
But never tried personally cause I've never left stock.

Any News/Rumors of 4.3 coming soon

title says it all. just wondering if anyone has seen new/rumors of android 4.3 coming for our moto x soon. i seen an article that said it would be sooner than later but that was the only thing i could find.
was wondering the same thing. with the N5 coming out soon though i'm wondering if they are looking to skip to kitkat
The only thing I can think of in 4.3 that would benefit users is TRIM support, but the Moto X already has that: http://www.anandtech.com/show/7235/moto-x-review/9
On other Moto devices we had an app that would check Moto dev servers for leaked builds. The Atrix got unlocked that way. Can't we try that on this device?

4.3 libs are much much better than 4.2 but they are probably just skipping to kitkat

Anyone seeing anything for VZW?

[Q] Kernels and Such

Hoping to pick up a dev edition monday when the sale starts (VZW) and coming from the razr hd im used to having arrgghs kernel where i have smartassv2 and intellidemand governors. Is one available for the moto x yet? And if not is there a device with the same chipset? Because i know with the HD we could use Photon Q and Atrix HD Kernels as well as our own
No and no.

It does kind of suck but the Moto X is very good on it's own. The only ROM I've run so far besides stock was Eclipse by Nitro when he released one. Other than that I don't feel the need to change anything. Active Notifications and the Touchless Controls are top notch.

4.4.2 update

Did anyone get this? My VZW moto x that I just bought yesterday prompted me to update today.

MEID/IMEI would be new, so that would be a quick turn around to get phone, register phone in MFN, and get update next day.

Same here, execpt I didn't check for update via Moto Device Manager.
On a side note.. the system version is in the 160's, where as 4.4.2 on the G's is in the 170's.. so is this "older" than the G 4.4.2 roms?

Not part of any feedback network as far as I know. It came with 4.2.2 then updated to 4.4 and said a software update was ready for install so I said ok without thinking about it. I tried installing app ops and it kept force closing on me which I found to be odd. Then I remembered 4.4.2 broke app ops and I checked my android version...voila
I'm not getting any update prompt.

Wow interesting. It had to have been a glitch. Punit did say he couldn't wait for this week. So it's entirely possible 4.4.2 is coming out this week. I am part of the mfn but haven't gotten any invite. It's possible after the lady debacle with the people on the mfn not being able to keep their mouths shut moto didn't do the mfn this time.

Wow. This is encouraging. I have an AT&T Moto X. I'm hoping 4.4.2 drops this week.

When, I cannot say for sure. Likely very soon. As to why, this gizmodo article gives an excellent explaination:

The part you are interested in is called "The Big Hold-up".

it depends. The updates for the X seem to be rotating as to which carrier gets it first. The one Update, Verizon was first. Another Sprint was first. This one T-Mobile/GSM Unlocked is first.
But there is no "set amount of time"
Since they sell these phone for free with contact... We might not ever get an update from att...

There is already a topic regarding this, why create another?
I just am not getting the excitement here, what will 4.4.4 do seriously?
I think Motorola just tried to be smart by announcing it ages before actual release. So that people will bless their p***y for being 'so fast' on updates. I am greatly annoyed by this.
Update takes time to rollout they update according to serial numbers in batches.
