Just released a new app for senior citizens - TilePhone.
The app is specialized for old folks who are not used for smart phones and need a simple phone for voice calls only (no SMS no whatsup etc.).
If you have a spare smartphone after an upgrade, grandpa can now use it without getting lost in all of android possibilities.
The app was developed for my 85 year old father and he uses it daily with much success, for calling his close relatives and dialing a number occasionally.
Usually smartphone have much better speaker then small dum phones, so a smart phone may be a smart choice specially if you install tilePhone and prevent the user from getting lost.
Main Features:
1. 11 speed dial buttons you can configure from the phone contacts list.
2. Hardware keys locked to prevent the user from accidentally exiting the app.
3. Configure or exit by swiping down & pressing the notification (swipe down is extremely difficult for the senior citizens we target).
This is how it looks:

The fully-customizable zzzPhone has launched. And when we say "fully customizable," we mean FULL customizable. With phone which comes with a 3-inch touch screen, 2GB memory, and 3-megapixel camera, runs on Windows Mobile 6 and is available for US$149. But that doesn't stop there. You can customize not only your phone's color, but also its features (higher megapixel, Skyper in your phone, etc), which would, understandably, also add to the price. We can't wait to see if the zzzPhone becomes a hit because if it is, then the major players in the industry are given something to think about.

I like the idea of pick your own options. Hopefully this will catch on. Thanks for sharing, I will be keeping an eye on these to see how they stack up quality wise when so user data is available.
sounds good, but there is always a catch....either a lack of something or something you don't want.
Just found this info, and it appears that the zzzPhone is now going to be running a non windows mobile OS. Possible Google Android in the near future.

O3touch brings us a perfect solution that integrates searching and contact managing with Email and Sms sending in one environment, in a real one finger operation, fast and easy to use - and all that for free!
My immediate reaction. After a day of use, I found myself asking “where have you been before?”.
I can not understand how I managed before. I don’t find myself any more thinking twice before going into the process of sending an Email or texting. Now I don’t think twice – it’s all so easy and fast.
We have seen many applications dialers trying to deal with these issues, not even close to what has been accomplished by o3touch. They are heavy, slowing down the device and don’t really do the whole job.
Suddenly everything is big! From the contact name to the text message, not to forget the incoming caller’s name.
Searching, writing, replying, editing, you name it, it’s all visually clear and easily done with one finger – you can forget your stylus at home!
One of the most amazing features is the high ability to customize the o3touch to your preferences. There are 40 deferent setting options.
You can decide what functions you want to take advantage of.
You can adjust the speed of the app, select keyboards combination, change the entire UI language, sound level, visual effect and much more.

Hello XDA friends,
How many apps on Play Store that sync your notes with Google Task? Many!
But since I didn t feel confortable with any of them I decided to make mine, with an alternative Holo UI, that take inspiration from Google Now, Google Keep, and made it more intuitive.
The app is mainly designed to make you feel all the features in your hands, even using a smartphone (tested on my 4.3" Galaxy S2 display) and offer simultaneusly 2 type of navigation: dropdown (useful to skip from a list to another when number of lists is huge) and swype.
This app as stated before lets you sync your current task with Google Task, so everything is synced to every device you got, with your PC and tablet, android, iOS and Windows!
Isn t it great?
Support to Password, Reminders, Due Date, all your lists are available and you ll never lose a meeting anymore thanks to notification feature (expanded notification for android 4.1+ users).
A touch of color to help you highlight your actions, nice animations and a complete settings menu to customize your app, your sincs, your passwords, your notifications.
THIS IS NOT MY WORK BUT THE WORK OF Mirko ddd,JUST THOUGHT I WOULD SHARE IT
Please visit Mirko ddd thread and click thanks

ooooooh thanks Wis!

I admit, Android phones could be great if they were refined, settings organized, touchscreen offset and calibrated, and applications made for it weren't lazy copies from iPhone riddled with malware, but unfortunately that isn't the case, also multiple restrictions, no control over application permissions and self-changing options are the most annoying part of Android.
Good luck removing that malware that cant be removed, installing antiviruses that don't do a thing, setting the screen time-out to "Never" or taking emergency school work pictures when your Android is at 10% battery, or asking for support on forums wasting hours of your life.
Me I'm done, parents and grandparents all been switched to iPhones, all problems suddenly disappeared, nobody is bothering me to fix their phone anymore :good:
All phones are encrypted and protected with 20 character passwords, yet unlocked in split second. (Granted, you can have that too, if you choose to encrypt aka marry SD card to your phone forever, but 99% of you wont take that chance, so setting any passwords is a pointless exercise.)
I'll hang around to answer some questions if anyone has gotten any.
lol...I'd like to post a "coolstorybro.jpg" meme but that would be rather rude for my part...instead I will close this thread and go back to watching my stories on TV....
Cheers,

UPDATE: looks like this android should have Google services and i just needed to update.
I made the mistake to buy a Huawei not knowing the Google services have been removed (totally my fault). I was a gift for my mom and now I am trying to figure out a fast way to be able to install some services like whats app and messenger (which she uses often).
I had a look online and everything is a little complicated (i can get my head around it if i spend some time on it i am a little technical just not in the mobile field).
The reason for this post is i need to help to determine the best way to achieve my goal (have some apps such as whats app):
1. Do i install apps that will allow me to add google services in the current device&software?
2. Do i remove everything and install a new ROM?
3. Do i take it to a professional? (Not sure if there is such a service and its costs, i am in UK)
4. Sell it? not sure anyone would want a Huawei and not sure if this being a prototype has a higher or lower value
Huawei P20 Pro Twilight CLT-AL00 8.1.0.123(C00) (i guess is worth noting that this seems to be a prototype version and in the back where the Huawei logo is supposed to be it says "Shirley", the guy who worked for Huawei). It also has 6 dots which seem like sensors down right corner which i cant seem to see on images of this device.
Any help is much appreciated!
Thank you
