Hi there,
Im having trouble understanding what the difference is between Customisation Numbers and Sales Item Numbers.
I understand that Cust numbers determine what software version you use on your phone. and its there to give different regions/networks their own version with added apps. What is the SI number in relation to the cust number? or is it the same thing?
I know my SI Number for my phone, its written on the box and inside the phone under the back cover, but i dont know how to find out my original customisation number? I assumed the Cust and SI numbers were the same. My SI number is 1272-0816.7 and in update checker, there is a Customisation number which is 1272-0816. But i've read in other boards on XDA that the Cust No and SI No are different?
So confused by this!
Edit: So my actual questions are: How can I find out my original Cust No. ? And, Is the Cust No and SI No the same thing?
Bump! Anyone have any answers for me?

Customization number have not interest at all, all rom with same build number are identicals.
Customizations are just adding some little things but nothing important and mainly carriers apps and preinstalled settings.
Most importnat is to flash correct ftf for your phone model
They're not the same. If you want to know cust ver of your current rom..
Dial *#*#7378423#*#* (remember: *#*#SERVICE#*#* ) > Service info > Software info
If you already flashed another rom..

(See few posts before the last one, [links in OP are dead].., do a find/search with your SI number).
Thanks for replying guys, I really should have noted down my original number before flashing, I'm pretty sure mine is just generic UK, just wasn't 100% sure. On my box the Si number is the same as the 02 UK cust number, but my phone is unbranded, so that's where my confusion came from, I was worried if I needed to get back to stock for warranty, and if I had the wrong cust number, it might get rejected?
Luckily I have no problems and I'm careful with the phone so hopefully it won't be a problem.

I also forgot my cust ver, but found out from those lists. What's your SI?
Edit: Oops! it's in OP.
Search gives this:
Code:
"C5303 Customized UK 1272-4687" "1272-0816 C5303/Mobile Phone/ET967/Customized UK (United Kin" for 35660405,35757705
Check whether either of the bunch of numbers at the end match with part of your IMEI. Cust ver should be 1272-4687.

From 4pda.ru.
1. http://api.viglink.com/api/click?fo...smg.lgmobile.com:9002/svc/po...00000000000000 If you set IMEI istead of zeros, you get info about phone's original region.
2. http://api.viglink.com/api/click?fo...lgmobile.com:9002/csmg/b...ry=ES®ion=E If you set IMEI istead of zeros, you get additional links for last LG firmware for phone's original region.
Try your Spanish IMEI and check for the firmware file.
Link for DE as follow: http://api.viglink.com/api/click?fo...smg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata...00/V10C_00.kdz
I've no a spanish open terminal, mine is branded. So I cannot download kdz file. I'm looking for someone with an open terminal...

Good work McGiverGim
Greetings.
I have a doubt with the updates and their country of origin, currently I have a xperia Z with fw (UK unbanded - Generic) which is in the 4.1 version of android.
Which I would like to take the official 4.2 packaged by sony, not to lose some functionality.
The problem is that the cell I occupy in the operator Entel Chile, which does not have the phone in their stock, so do not carry the approval respectively, thus not release updates.
1. I can use a firmware from another country?,
2. The firmware by country, just change the predefined settings, such as group of operators?
3. If you can change your country, do you recommend any??

You can flash any Stock.ftf using the flashtool. It doesn't matter which region it's for. There is guides on this forum everywhere.
I would like to know if flashing another region's FTF, will the customization be changed as well? Are there options to skip flashing the customizations?

can someone tell me what the last 3 characters define
for example i was looking to flash a generic stock c6906 ftf and these were on the first page
C6906_14.1.G.2.257_Generic CA. 1276-7484_R7A
C6906_14.1.A.0.290_Generic CA. 1276-7484_R2B
The first part is obvious enough and i believe 1276-7484 refers to the cust no. or si no. according to a sticky.
what about the R7A and R2B?
anybody know specifically what they refer to?
Just want to make the best choice for my needs, thanks
Customizations of the Rom, not even noticeable.
I have a tricky question:
How can I find out the actual, REAL hardware model I have? D5803 or D5833? When I check Settings-->About phone-->Model number, I get D5833, but I don't know if this setting shows the ACTUAL device model, or the flashed ROM's. Does anybody know? In case it's the ROM's, how can I find out the real hardware model I have? (Before you tell: I threw away the box and invoice long ago.)
Background: A few months ago I flashed a prerooted 5833 ROM (working fine, so far). However, since both 5803 and 5833 ROMs are virtually interchangeable and can be flashed to both models, the problem is now I don't remember if I flashed the version matching my actual model. (Back then, I just wanted to get the latest pre-rooted and didn't care much about matching versions.)
Thank you in advance. (I hope this is not double posting: I've searched the forums but haven't found an answer to this particular.)

It shouldn't make any difference, the difference between the models is to do with the 4G bands available to the phone. If the 4G is working then you probably have the right model.
Why not use Xperiafirm to find the correct firmware for your country/provider, then download the firmware and use Flashtool to create a tft, then flash just the baseband. That will give you the correct modem, regardless of what build you have on the phone, and won't change the rom in any way.
Thank you @Didgesteve for your answer. I know what you mean (and I already did that). But my question remains:
How do I find which of the two existing Z3 Compact models am I holding in my hand?
I'd rather not engage in debating the baseband or ROM differences. The fact is: both models, D5833 and D5803, aren't identical; and I want to know which one is mine.
Never mind my country. I bought it second hand and I can't know exactly where was it bought. The information in the "About phone" settings only tells the flashed ROM, but not the supporting hardware.
My guess is, perhaps only the serial number may have that information embedded. But how do I get the model out of the serial number?
Anybody?
Thank you.

If you open the flap where you put the sim in, look closely under the sim slot is a thin piece of plastic, you might need tweezers to pull it out.
Printed on that is the model number and serial number and a european CE mark
Excellent! That worked. Thanks a lot. I guess I'll try to label this as solved.
Does anyone know the different version mubers and what they mean?
For example my Mate s has build number CRR-L09C900 b131 CUSTC900D131
and i have seen where some one elses has CRR-L09C432 B114
is the c900 and c432 part of the build numbers significant? are they interchageable?
Do i need only worry about the B--- part of the number as long as it is for thr CRR-L09?
or what do the Custom Version numbers mean?
can someone please explain?
Let's pick CRRL09-C432B145CUSTC432D003, as an example:
CRR-L09 = model number [extremely important]
C432B145 = entire build(number) [identifier for each version update]
B145 = [build abbreviated] (normally higher=more recent)
CUSTC432D003 = customization number [changes (varies) with each update]
Some numbers could vary due to the country, region and operator. Make sure that the model number corresponds to your device. In addition look at the abbreviated build number, which shows the ‘’recentness’’. Generally the higher the build number the more recent the firmware version. To sum up: important numbers in our example are in bold: CRR-L09C432B145CUSTC432D003
Some other abbreviations, that Huawei uses in Firmware labeling:
V = Version, R = Release, B = Build, D = Debug, SP = Service Pack, C = Customization
Thanks for that but when most people put firmwares up, they do not usually mention a custom number.
So for me, is it ok for me to manually upgrade from my current CRR-L09C900B131 to CRR-L09C432B145 without any problems even though i have not had notification of this on the updater?

Do not worry too much about the customization number. The only thing that should match is the model number. So yes, you should be able to update even though you did not receive a notification on your device.
