If you are on stock rom, flash philz kernel first and reboot to recovery , flash Raw kernel and reboot recovery and flash KK rom with gapps.

Yes permanent recovery.
Yes flash philz kernel in stock recovery. Do the factory reset and wipes in philz recovery. It will root your phone too but only till you flash another rom with or without root.
You can flash omnirom with gapps and don't flash superSU wouldn't have root.
Google for philz kernel n7000 and Raw kernel R4.

So the the rom is not starting ? No problem if a can start recovery after flashing the kernel. After flashing the kernel i want to install an TW rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2079094 . The instruction says:
Installation: use philz TW kernel (i am using philz3.99)
1. download SlimWizz2_Tablet and xplose framework along with xposed app setting module. place these files on sdcard
2. boot in recovery
3. cleanup for new rom flash(use philz menu)
4. install rom
Can i flash it through the recovery of the hydracore??
Yes but there wont be step 3 in hydracore recovery.. so you will need to go to mounts and storage and format /sytstem, data, cache and preload

No, basically I wanted to start TOTALLY fresh with a new ROM so I went to CWM and formatted EVERYTHING!! I was half asleep when I did it and formatted my SD card (where my ROM was saved lol) I also formatted boot, so I have no recovery anymore either.
What I'm wanting is a custom recovery I can flash using Odin.
So CWM recovery in a .tar format.
Thanks for the help!

So attached one may help you a lot. It works even for JW9! All you need to do - it's install the latest stock ROM first

But this isn't a recovery is it?
It's just a root package for stock firmware?
All I'm looking for is a custom recovery (like CWM) that I can flash in Odin so I can get a recovery back on my phone and flash CM
This on contains Root+CWM3 for stock ROM
Hello everyone. I'm a newbie samsung user. I tried to root my phone (N700-Galaxy Note - ICS 4.0.4) using PhilZ Recovery method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1901191
When I flash the zip in the stock recovery, everything seems to be ok, then when I got out and pressed "Reboot System now", the phone just turned off. I tried to power it on, but I stuck at the N7000 Logo (the logo just appears for a few seconds then disappears). However, I can still access the PhilZ Recovery
What should I do now? Should I flash a new rom with new kernel using that recovery (e.g: OmniRom with Raw Kernel)?
Please help, I'm really worry :crying:
Since you have Philz kernel then you can flash any TW ROM or AOSP ROM which is not KitKat. If you want to try out KitKat then you would have to first flash Raw Kernel and then from Raw kernel you can flash KitKat (ex. OmniROM).
If you want to go back to stock then you would have to flash a stock ROM using Odin.
whats the name of the zip file you flashed?

Hello,
I have the Samsung N7000, but it is stuck on Odin too.
My phone is not bricked or something like it, but I want Clockworkmod recovery 6.0.4.5 on it so I can flash Cyanogenmod 11 KitKat on it.
It is stuck on NAND WRITE too. I already have Clockworkmod recovery 6.0.2.8 on it, so I need to upgrade it.
Any suggestions??
Best regards, Joey

You have not mentioned the file you were trying to flash.. No mind readers here...
Anyways, flash raw kernel from the current recovery and reboot recovery.

Sorry, I tried flashing Clockworkmod 6.0.4.5 tar.md5 file.
It ran till it said NAND WRITE START and than FAIL. The collor above turned red and instead of PASS it said FAIL!
So raw kernel should fix this?
Do you have a link maybe? I'll search for it on Google but I want to make sure I have the good file.
Edit*
I found what you told me, but it says that raw kernel is for Android 4.4?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397000
I have 4.1.2 so I'm not sure if this will brick my device or something like that.
My device is all working fine and it is not bricked or bootloop YET, and since it has that NAND WRITE fail I'm not sure if it will reinstall my stock rom.. if it may brick.
I will still say what I wrote above.. Flash raw r4..reboot recovery and flash kk rom.

Allright, but I don't need to upgrade my cwm then? Because on several websites are telling me that I need at least Philz touch CWM 6.0.4.3 on it..

1. To flash a kitkat rom you will need a recent Cwm recovery.
2. Philz tw kernel are not updated to latest cwms.
3. If you try to flash philz_touch_xxx.zip, it won't work as you already saw.
So if you want to root the phone, use philz tw kernel that is associated with a rom build number like XXLTA.. Then you will get Cwm but not recent enough flash kk. That's why you flash raw r4.reboot into recovery takes to to recent Cwm. From there you can flash kk..
Just note that r4 is for 4.3 and will not boot a 4.1.2 so you will need to flash kk after r4.

And when I flash raw kernel, than I should be able of flashing newest Cwm?

Hi,
Is not possible to flash recovery without kernel, on recent samsung phones recovery and kernel are tied. (Maybe you can change recovery editing the kernel image but that is out of subject and maybe your skills).
Follow the steps @nokiamodeln91 suggest you, there is no other way. Raw Kernel has a KK compatible recovery.

Okay. But if KitKat doesn't work that well, do I need to downgrade my Kernel and Cwm recovery than?
And do you have a link to the stock kernel?
Then you go into recovery, wipe data, and flash anew rom using odin or use recovery to flash a custom rom.

If cwm doesn't want to instal KitKat, because of some reason, or I decide to not install it, than I want to reboot 4.1.2 but because of the Raw Kernel that won't be possible.

LOL that does not make any sense.. You will need to restore the backup or install a new rom. There is no need to separately install a stock kernel.. May be you need to read more how all this works.

Well, I didn't know that you sometimes need another kernel before you can install cwm.
I have been installing custom roms en recoverys many times on LG's so that isn't the problem.
But the NAND WRITE and FAIL problem must be a kernel issue than?
I've installed liquidsmooth rom kitkat 4.4.2 on my galaxy s advance GTI9070.. I made a backup of my stock jellybean update using TWRP recovery mode. But it seems that the new rom has CWM recovery mode. I want to restore my phone to backup rom, but i can't access TWRP recovery mode.. Everytime i enter into recovery mode it shows CWM mode and it doesn't show my backup.. Plzz help..

If it was on 4.4 too, take its kernel, install it with Universal kernel flasher and go to recovery and restore it.
Kernel is in ROMs zip, name of it is boot.img.

I was lazy to give you full answer there.
First on 4.4. our developers repartitioned preload partition to use it as a swap, and on 4.1.2 there were some apks. So if you want to go from 4.4 (and 4.3.) you must repartition it with this guide.
Then you download SlimKat or OmniROM and use its kernel to get TWRP, extract its ZIP and copy kernel to phone (it is boot.img in root of ZIP file). Then install Universal kernel flasher and some root explorer from the Play store and install kernel. When it is done go to recovery (you will have TWRP) and restore your backup.
P.S. You can use CoCore kernel with TWRP too. But the process is the same.

You get a bootloop because CoCore is for Stock ONLY. You can't use CoCore on any other ROM than on Stock based one.
@shut_down
My zip to restore is needed in 4.4 ROMs based on Team Canjica sources built till 14 June, after that date (since we removed /preload as swap partition on 15 June) is no longer needed with new builds this is only an info, most of the users don't know neither on what build they are :silly: better to continue to tell them to flash that zip before restoring that kind of ROMs, nice work.
