Hey guys,
For some reason my phone keeps battery-% on some numbers way too long (compared with the day before). I was on 85%, and put it on the charger. 20 minutes later it was on 98%, but another 20 minutes later it was still on 98%. Some time later I found it at 99% and unplugged but the % immediately went down to 98%. I left it overnight to charge 'til 100%. Now the battery-% takes way too long to go down and way too long to charge again.
Suggestions on how to solve this?

I'm now using an app to recalibrate my phone. Does this sound logical? 4203mV - 100% and 4098mV - 95%?
Eco controller still exist in 4.3. Clean data, stop it and restart phone. I have also wiped battery info in cwm twice and everything works great.

I'm on 4.1.2 (see signature). I did the ECO trick, but I can't wipe battery stats because somehow I can't find it in my CWM recovery
Yea, i know. I wrote 4.3 cause thought UltraWelfare meant it. Unfortunately i have got Philz cwm for a while and there is no such a function as well but i'm sure in cwm touch it exist.

Hi all
I sent my first nexus 7 back because Google play told me that what i was describing was a software glitch..i then got a 2nd one but that had raised glass, so now i am on my 3rd nexus, and its got the same issue as the first. I will try and explain it as best i can
When i give the battery its first full charge and then use it for the first time for say 1 hour, when i go into battery use it says its been on for 1 hour, so all is good. If i then switch if off and go on it the next say the 1 hour on battery will then go to zero and start again. The weird thing is that it will then record the time i am using it ok for every other time i switch it off and on.
Also and i am sure its related, the screen on time does not track the actual time the screen is on. For instance i was on the nexus for an hour tonight and screen on was not even listed as a battery usage? could this be because i have it set to minimum?? When it does appear the screen on time does not update itself, for eg it will say screen on time 15 minutes 5 seconds, if i then use nexus for another 30 mins and go back to setting and press refresh it will still say screen on time 15 minutes 5 seconds.
Its baffling me !! i have had 2 nexus's do the same thing.
Any ideas on whats going on?
Thanks everyone
Chris
I'll have this like every time when I turn my nexus off when I'm coming from a full wipe (factorey reset)... After a few days it's calibrating itself and all is fine. No drawbacks. It may be a 4.2 problem.. Idk. Sorry :/

That's first i heard this issue
P.S i don't turn off my tablet
So the "issue" is that Battery menu does not track the actual usage time?
Tty wiping battery stats through the recovery, should work just fine then
Battery stats are maybe reset by an auto reboot when the nexus is sleeping and you're not using it ?
Just an idea.

In the recovery mode. I'm not sure that stock recovery has that option, but custom recovery do
So unless you are rooted - I'm not sure that you can wipe battery stats by any other means

I have 2 batteries and one broken phone, I use the broken phone to charge the extra battery. If I reboot my phone with a battery with a perfectly good charge when it reboots it shows the battery is dying? If I put the battery in the other phone and charge the status says the battery has a charge, not sure what is wrong?

My guess: Your broken phone doesn't actually charge your battery or at least, not fully. It might think it's fully charged at a very low %.
It could also just be the os not reading the charge correctly. I've had it happen on numerous occasions where I'll reboot my phone and the charge drops by 20-30% after reboot. But if I continue to use it without charging or rebooting the percentage will eventually increase or at the very least stay at one level for an extended time.

Well when I take it out of the broken phone and put it in the good one, the good one says its fully charged too. The only reason the charging phone is broken is cause the IMEI is toast.

It doesnt increase, just dies......... tried charging the battery to 100% turned off then ran battery optimization app, used the phone for a while and rebooted it at about 60% and after the phone rebooted it said the battery was at 2%

You should probably stop rebooting, let it die and fully charge it. Might need to recalibrate your battery stats too.
As for your IMEI being toast, you can flash stock KK4 to fix it.

Have tried flashing stock KK4 with no luck on it, now its just an expensive charger

Ok.. maybe we've been missled this entire time. What's the highest battery consumption in settings->battery?
Also, you could get betterbatterystats app to help trigger what's draining your battery.

Well what I'm starting to think is that the way you charge your battery has nothing to do with it. The OP missled me to think that it was coming from your broken phone. It might come from your phone (or app/setting on your phone).
Imo, backup your apps and such (after finding out what's draining your battery), flash back to stock and start from there to get back to your ROM.
How old are the batteries?
Do they both report the same percentage immediately after boot and after comparable use for a similar amount of time?
They are only good for 500 to 1000 cycles. A dying battery will appear fully charged when on the charger but quickly drop to a lower voltage when used.

Eh yeah, I would highly suggest backing up, going back to stock and reflashing your way up.
MediaScannerService is probably cause your SD card is a mess, a factory reset usually helps for that. AudioOut_2 is weird though, do you have clicks sounds on?

Its been almost a year now since I've had this phone. Recently, my phone has been restarting/switching off by itself....once it turns off, it won't turn back on again unless I plug in the charger. If I try holding on to the power button once it happens, the "S3 mini logo" just keeps showing up and switches back off again. I even did a factory reset and still it didn't fix the problem. Even when I try going through my phone (reading messages, going through settings, opening an app), it'll just automatically have the problem again and switch off again. One time I kept my phone on sleep mode for about 5 hours, and after that I just wanted to make a phone call and again it just turned off.. please any help would be appreciated..
in the morning around 7 when I unplug my charger batt is on 100%
10 min of browsing on wifi it goes to 85%.
It holds on 85% from 8-11 AM
Then I turn mobile data on, browse for about 20 sek and it crashes.
Keeps on restarting and batt is on 0%
I connect the charger batt is on 56% in couple minutes, and stays there till 6 PM
Around 6PM I turn wifi on, browse 20sec and it goes down again.
Not turning on until I connect charger.
When I connect charger it is again on 60%.
how to solve it ????

i'm 99,9% sure that it's your battery. I had exactly the same issue just over half a year ago. You just need a new battery (no need for it to be "official" as it would probably cost double the price of another non-OEM one). Hope I helped, let us know here

just wanted to make sure if it is a firmware or battery, now i can confirm it and say that it was a battery problem for anyone that has the same problem.
I had the exact same problem and today I put in a brand new battery, I waited for it to drain then I charged and calibrated it when it got to 100%.
After 40min of Internet browsing 25% had drained!
I am waiting for it just to turn off of it's own accord pretty soon.
Update: phone appeared to be okay, although I thought the battery was being used up fairly fast.
Today while charging the phone the battery was at 80% and during a conversation on the phone, it switched off of it's own accord. I then had to power back up the phone.
So I do think there is something up with it.
Any ideas folks?
The phone is really starting to annoy me and because I rooted it I will have to bring it back to stock before I attempt to bring it back to the shop for repair. But that is the last thing I wanted to do.
Cheers
Well after a week now and the phone is still losing juice rapid.
Sometimes it will charge well and I would get half a day or of it. And on other occasions it just shuts down after being left charging all night.
This is after a brand new battery has been installed!

It is rooted. This problem started two weeks ago. I was gonna put it back to stock so I flashed this rom. Otherwise if I bring it back to the shop they will not look at it if it had been rooted.
I just ran root checker and it is still rooted

My phone has been previously rooted for the past 8 months, no problems at all.
Then out of the blue two weeks ago the battery went crazy, I bought a battery and it is still not good. If I can't find a solution I will then have to revert the phone to stock before I bring it back to the shop as rooting voids the warranty.

Hi,
it began a few days ago: after a complete charge, the battery stats stayed at 100% for a few hours and then began to drop.
Since then, every time it gets to 60% i know it is empty. The time it gets to 60% is about the normal discharge time and when hitting 60, the battery indicator gets red and shuts down the phone. It drives me crazy not to know the real stats since i travel a lot.
I tried wiping cache, it didn' work. I made a fresh re-install, it didn't work . I am on stock 5.1
What should i do?
Probably need to flash stock

I dont have that much knowledge but i am unrooted and happened to me serveral times as my battery shut downs in 13 percents. I looked for a solution and my issue resolved. Hope if it can help you
Maybe its calibration issue
Maybe your phone thinks 20% is 0
Try using fully discharge your battery until it shutsdown then go to recovery mode and waste the juice until it turn off and dont even boot into recovery. Then charge full with power off and again discharge to 0. Again to 100 and see if problem solves.
If not then maybe issue is with battery
I'm getting 5-7 hours here depending on the usage but to be sure go back to stock room for 5 days and check the SOT BY THE WAY I'm on Lightrom with the mad Max kernel
My phone used to be like this... so annoyed.
I tried everything but no result: using battery calibrate apps or methods, flashing stock rom, reinstalling TWRP,...
I am quite sure when your phone is at 20%-, you can't see battery % in TWRP mode :V.
I think the cause is TWRP ( data can't mount )
Here is what HAPPENED to my phone )
I flashed ECHO rom and my phone got bootloop..."Only official binaries ...."
Fine....too easy to fix... I flashed my stock rom and ta da... My phone's battery was Fixed :V
So ...you can consider bootloop your phone to fix the problem ))) Then wait 7 days without restarting your phone... reinstall TWRP ( "NOUGAT" or "OREO" ). And when you download dm-ver... zip to install TWRP, look carefully for LATEST version "LATEST". And dont update your TWRP or use themes for TWRP (Old is gold, simple is perfection :v , fuctional is too enough)
GOOD LUCK

Why wait 7 days with no reboot? Not needed if it's to make the OEM toggle visible...just wait 7 days or use the date-change workaround. Reboots affect the uptime timer but not the server-side OEM unlock timer.

Happened to me lately on stock, never rooted. Try turning off quick charge and use normal method instead for a few cycles. Maybe test on stock firmware just to be safe. If no improvement it might be a degrading battery.

Sounds good, just be careful with calibration...fully charging or discharging the battery reduces it's overall lifespan. Don't do it too often.
I did factory reset including internal storage wipe and calibration Bt still the problem exists.. Now the battery will go down to 15 then directly 14,12,10,5 in seconds even if I connect charger at 15 it will go down till 3%..

Yeah, it can be possible to degrade the battery that quickly.
It usually happens when you let your phone go under 20% frequently or let it die completely before charging it again.
I usually do the lowest 25-30% and the 80+% charge daily, then finally use it all the way to 20% before going to sleep, put it on a slow charger, and by next morning its at 100% without keeping it charged 100% all night (which can also degrade the battery, just a lot slower than discharging it completely.)
I have had my phone a week before it came out and my battery is awesome. It lasts me all day everyday. Best phone I have ever had.
