[Q] ?'s About Chinese Atrix HD's - Motorola Atrix HD

I've noticed that we have a few Chinese users here and I was wondering what stock rom the phone has since we don't have a stock Chinese firmware, nor a stock firmware with even the Chinese language. Do ya'll get them with CM from the carrier over there? or do ya'll have a different stock than whats available here?
Thanks
I'm curious and this has always bugged me.

I dont think we have stock Chinese firmware since this phone is mainly focused on only some markets. even in my country (Vietnam), we're neighborhood of China but I still must buy an ATT one which is bought by shipping from US
Correct me if I'm wrong but if we have, more choices are better

That sucks. I was, and still am, hoping that perhaps there's another stock firmware floating around somewhere. Later in its life the Defy started getting more and more Chinese users and firmwares, some of which were done in a way that it enabled us to flash custom roms if we screwed up and took an OTA that blocked the hacks. The first Atrix even had a leaked Chinese ICS even though it was never officially supposed to be past Gingerbread. With the Chinese and Asian users here, I was hoping an Asian carrier might have released or is using a different stock firmware than what we already have....maybe that's not the case and they're all just importing like you.

I am Chinese ,but I like to use a English firmware .it can help to improve my English skill .

If that is the case. When you buy a Chinese Atrix HD do you get it with a Chinese firmware or did you had to flash an US firmware?

if the phone is popular in China , the storekeeper will hire someone to develop the Chinese package so that we can get the Chinese interface .
MB886 is popular ,so it has the Chinese package at first ,after unclock the bootloader , they also translate other rom into Chinese, like slim, beanstalk and so on .
if the phone has Chinese interface ,it can sells in higher price .
I used to bought a moto XT881, it is very cheap because no Chinese interface .

Ohhh i see. Thanks for sharing. So in other words the phone do get stock version same as ours.

[Q] Change firmware version?

I've searched for this, but can't find it anywhere.
I have this Galaxy Note, absolutely great device, but as my boss is a cheapskate I got a version from Poland, including the branding of some provider there. So besides getting this friggin annoying bootscreen, and the phone starting in Polish, I also have to install the Polish firmware updates.
This is the version I can update to: pda:lc1 / phone:lb2 / csc:lb1 (pls)
But I have been holding it of as I want to get the NL version. Only now ICS seems to have been released and while I'll probably go to a vanilla version, I would still like to know if it's possible to change from a Polish version to a Dutch version.
Please let me know if this is possible.
Thank you in advance for your reply.

i have the same model. LC1 is still one of the latest revisions of gingerbread.
ICS is not officially available for any version of the note yet aside from the chinese rip off models (if it did launch, im sure you'll see 20 odd threads about it). the ones available now are just leaks from samsung and custom ROMs.
you can flash to a multiCSC official rom and change the csc code if you want, otherwise, you can just flash ICS stunner, AOKP, AOSP, CM9, etc.

[Q] ROM Proximus Be

Hello,
Sorry for my bad English ^^
I search a ROM for the operator Proximus in Belgium. If someone know who find a official ROM ?
Thanks a lot,
Aireil
Are you looking for a ROM for a phone you bought from Proximus, or are you really looking for a ROM modified by Proximus? If so, I didn't even know they did that... I've certainly never bumped into one, I'd doubt providers would make them publicly available :/
However, if you're just looking for a ROM for a phone you bought from Proximus but is essentially just an i9000 (or variant) then just look in the development sections for a ROM that suits your needs. Usually the phone + SIM 'deals' in Belgium are just a regular phone plus a crappy service

Unfortunately, i search a ROM by Proximus. The operator have his own ROM, like Orange in France. And this ROM have some application for Proximus
Yuck
There's probably nothing you can find in that case. If you currently have their ROM on your phone and there's no update made available to you it's highly unlikely Proximus would ever do any effort to provide updates... Is there any specific reason why you are looking for this ROM if you already have it on your phone?
Ho no, i don't have it on my phone. I need it for an application Proximus include in the ROM ^^
How could you ever want... more bloatware?!
Anyway, I found a couple of things you may find interesting. Firstly, if you're lucky the application you're looking for may be available from Google play, Belgacom has a couple of apps on there => https://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=Belgacom
Also, I found a topic on another site (in French, but since you're from Belgium too that shouldn't be a problem), which is here http://forum.frandroid.com/topic/55453-rom-originale-proximus-belgique/, where somebody has pretty much the exact same problem. You could always try that
Thanks for you're help, i saw the post on FrAndroid before come here, but i can't run CheckFus. :crying:
Yes, it's this app but i need an official ROM for it's work ^^
Hello,

Samsung Note SM-N9208 Duos

Hello,
I bought N9208 today with the knowledge that it is compatible to my current carrier TMobile. I have several questions for those who have this phone.
#1. Am I able to install the operating system from TMobile? I am basically a noob when it comes to rooting etc etc. The phone comes unlocked.
#2. What is the primary difference between the N9208 and TMobile' N920T. I purchased this phone because it has 2 Sim slot and I like the Titanium color.
#3. What should I be doing first upon receiving the phone? How can I add flash software to this phone?
#4. Does unlock also mean the phone is rooted?
Any help or advise is greatly appreciated. Thank you for the patience.

I think you shouldn't do anything to your phone during a few days, to make sure that everything works fine. With an unlocked phone you'll be able to use any SIM card, and with a rooted phone you'll be able to see, modify and delete system files that otherwise can't be seen, so if a phone is unlocked it doesn't mean that it's also rooted.
To flash a new ROM you can use Odin.

Thank you, the tracking says my phone will arrive tomorrow. I will make sure it works fine with TMobile before doing anything else.
Oh... what do you mean by "To flash a new ROM you can use Odin?" Does this mean I can use TMobile's operating system and not from Taiwan's since this is from Taiwan? Sorry i am really a noob when it comes to this.

You can't use a firmware of the N920T on your N9208, as they are different models. You can only install a firmware that is specific for your device model.

So what should I do? lol I don't want Taiwan's apps. I would like to cater my phone as closely as TMobile's.
I have the N9208 and use it on TMOUS. It does not come with any Taiwan apps, just all Samsung official apps. The traditional Chinese keyboard and handwriting recognition are on by default. I have not tried turning them off since I do write in Chinese sometimes. You cannot install TMO FW as they are two different models. The main difference is that the TMO supports Samsung Pay while the N9208 does not yet since it is not supported in TW yet. It is not rooted by default.

So what should I do? Just leave it alone for now, and not root it? Can the keyboard be changed to simplified chinese?

It's up to you, just know that if you do root, it will trip Knox. That means you won't be able to use Samsung Pay if it gets released in the future and Android Pay unless there is some workaround. Yes, there is Simplified Chinese. You can also always download third party keyboards if you prefer.

Oh, what do you mean by "traditional chinese on by default?" I mostly type in English, so I hope English Language can be on default. I currently have Note 3, and if I swipe the space key, it switches to simplified chinese. Is Note 5 similiar to this that?
I guess I will leave it alone for a bit and see how it does. I read on the T Mobile forum at Tmobile website and it says N9208 does not have "LTE" and that wi fi calling isn't available? Is this true though?
Thanks
I just received my Note 5 N9208, and there isn't simplified chinese. Do I go to google play to download it? Also, the weather, how do I add multiple cities' weather? I am not liking the Samsung keyboard already. Can someone help? thanks

I just mean that when you first use the device the default keyboard and handwriting are set to both traditional Chinese and English. Yes you can deselect Traditional and change it to English. On the Note5 you just click on the globe key and it will change the language. It does support LTE. I posted a picture in a post somewhere, you can look at my history to find it. It does not have wifi calling from what I can tell.

I read elsewhere in the forum that the N9200 (China Note 5) does not come with the google play store and that rooting is often required to get it. I don't want to root. Does the N9208 come with the google play store? I assume yes since it's the Taiwan version, but would love to get some confirmation. Thanks! My plan is to use the phone on AT&T in the US states, and on China Mobile in China (N9208 should be fine for use in China as long as not using China Telecom, from what I've seen on frequencycheck).

You can flash Vietnam firmware, Android 7 is available
https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-tab-s2-80/SM-T719Y/
At the welcome screen , just roll up and down to select English as your choice of language.
If you don't know how to use Odin, then don't try.

This is official firmware from Samsung which must have English language. All samsung tablets are the same, don't ever think your US or Europe tablet is superior than the one sold in Asia. Actually, most Samsung tablets are made in Vietnam.
Only the firmware and software are customized to fit certain region. That's why they always have the file CSC ( Customer Software Customization ) to flash a firmware.
I can flash 4 different official firmwares: United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Korean, and Germany, my tablet's status always be OFFICIAL. This is not rooting, you're flashing different official firmware. If you don't get it, then don't try and waiting for the OTA update.
In the Tab A forums, many users flash Korean or Germany to get Android 7 as you can flash back the original firmware when it's available in Nougat.
Even after updated, don't like the Nougat, you can flash back MM without problem as I did. because some apps are not ready for new OS.
Anyway I need the Italian firmware, not the English..

Firmware and csc question

Hello everyone I live in th u.s. and use my a71 on att. I bought my phone at rent a center and it has buc1 firmware and the csc is TTT (Trinidad and tobago). I would like to install a custom rom because I recently rooted and the smartview feature which I use often isn't working right and none of the fixes are either. My question is this: which firmware should I install to get a clean slate and possibly try a custom rom? Not sure why a phone in the US was sold with Trinidad firmware. I would prefer not to flash the stock ttt firmware if possible is there a better option? Thanks guys
hi friend, I have been almost in same situation (different country) and i would like to share with you my experience maybe it will help if you are still looking. some options / features included in the ROM / OS depend on where the device was sold or aimed to be sold initially by Samsung, for example 2 phones same model, same tech specs, same android version, if one is old in Europe with a certain firmware, it may not have same all options / features as same one sold in US or elsewhere .... i bought a device sold initially in Italy and couldn't find samsung pay or fm radio app in it (even that device does support it from hardware side) and not possible to install it as third-partie app either in anyway possible, and it didnt show up even with a custom ROM .... so i did some dig in and found THAILAND firmware for same android version have it by default + others things i was looking for such as native call recording .... basically long story short, as longer you already rooted it, we can forget about warranty, which should gives you more freedom to install wharever you want ... a custom rom is specially to enhance perf by removing some apps and adding some more features that arents includeed in stock firmware ... but if you are okay with basic stock firmware and all its apps and contenents you don't have to install ncessarry a custom rom ... you can juts look for a specific firmware REGION/COUNTRY that have the option you are looking for and go fo it, like i did from Italy to Thailand (while im living in whole different country of those two), and all will be working fine for you ^^
