It seems that GPS support is a widespread weakness in custom ROMs like CM. That is why I was pleasantly surprised to find it out worked on MIUI when I tested it.
I don't know what secret sauce they added to make it work but I'm curious if there are any other ROMs that did the same.

In cm based ROMs GPS is working. If u think it is not working on your phone use GPS status and tool box.

I tested it 3 months ago and couldn't get it to work. I read it is related to the compass not working in custom ROMs. Can you confirm it is okay now? I will be happy to try again.

For example on PA 3.99 it was working (quite slow but it was).
When u are trying to use GPS for first time u shold have internet acces.

Nope I didn't test the latest build yet. I am usinf the build which is released with OMX fix. battery backup is not good, all others are good

I installed your VanirAOSP 4.4.2 but I had no network, the baseband and also the IMEI were unknown. I followed all steps for installation. I used TWRP, and was on a stock firmware when I did the installation. Returned to stock via ODIN and network was back and so was the IMEI. What could be cause of this. It also happened with 2 other 4.4.2 roms. Most puzzled.

use cwm to flash if u r using vanir stock recovery work too just flash data and cache and try again the new build everything working fine let me know if u still facing such problem

u can use that too but there is no need i flash it simple it work try cwm instead of twrp
Really liked aicp rom very smooth
I flashed cpu oc kernels of any rom that worked rom booted and everything was fine
but when i want gpu and cpu oc kernel then i flashed oc kernel of omni 4.4 , resurrection remix roms oc kernel and phone goes in bootloop i dont want to download whole latest rom of aicp that have cpu and gpu oc kernel can u give me its boot.img

Had internet turned off, data and wifi.

I like AICP rom..evry feature of this rom is awesom...2 dayz ago i installed this rom but after charging why its show auto charging..i mean to say my mobile was not connected to charger and its show charging indicator...tell me wat to do to resolve this issue..now i revert to other rom n evry thing is running perfect & with any auto charging issue.

I installed the latest Vanir ROM and i have a little bug. I cannot preview the ring and the notification sounds. I scroll down and selecting some sounds but no sound is heared. Phone rings normally when someone calls me.

I am on xxugna8 and I am not sure if my phone can get any better. I came from i9000 on cm10.2 and now I am super happy with my new stock s3. How is your experience with the latest cm11 or cm10.2? Is it worth to flash? What would you recommend?

I'm also happy with my stock Rom but my phone is rooted I waiting for 4.4 stock Rom. In my opinion samsung Rom is quite good. Only 4.4 I will load in my phone

Well it sounds like you're curious about cm. Why not give it a go?
I was the same, happy with my stock until I was slightly unhappy with it (about 6 months on....) then I started tweaking and now I'm on CM.
In my experience with my s3 which i've had just over a year and half, playing around with different roms . I prefer stock rom for its stability. CM or other modded custom roms may be faster, provide few extra features here and there, but there always seems to be tiny bugs here and there. Mostly problems with the camera. And for my own usage i think Stock Sammy rom is more than enough, and if you need extra features use xposed modules and most of the things you need will be there

Jerry, if that's the case, maybe look at stable or official releases...
They get updated possibly the same amount as stock roms if not more, and are stable.
That being said though, most people who don't stock want the latest version even if it's beta at times, which why some ROMs like CM have nightly, weekly, stable and official releases.

Ok there is offical cm kernel, with sony logo, this rom is booting and works. There is Android OS battery drain fix so should be ok. This is android 4.4.2 not 4.4.3 yet, works fluid. You can install and try it its safe. http://beta.download.cyanogenmod.org/get/huashan-latest.zip
You can enter recovery by volume up button :3
Antutu test passed without reboot twice, points: 20382 and 16656
2d performance good, 3d medium for now ( 3d performance jumps)

Yes its true, but everyday we will have new updates and will be better and better
how it should be??? it is experimental version...i have it for one day...ram is far far beter than stock...batery a little worse...and have sometimes minimal lags...but overall better than stock...if you dont need sony beautiful apps than you should try cm11
U can always install Sony launcher, system ui and all apps. I have installed Are ports on this forum for CM11. Now it's look like existenz but is super smooth

cm 10 is based on 4.1.2 and this tablet came with 4.2.2 so that is completely useless, btw you can't just port someting you need a lot for it porting is not that easy.
and for miui porting that one is even harder!

I have made several attempts my self to just get CM10 or 10.2 to port to this device but my issue is what device to port from. I am really new at this and pretty much just experimenting but from the videos that I have watched and the threads that I have read, I think I have the porting process down. But when I actually try to port from another device (Samsung tab 2 7" inch) the files needed are way different. Does someone have an idea of the perfect (I mean good starting point) device to port from?

To port anything to T110 u need to find a device with same or similar motherboard to yours. Tab 2 7 isn't a device you're looking for.

Look for PXA 988 devices. There was some HP tablet. Probably Slate 7

I am Slenderman8090, from Galaxy Grand Prime region. I wanted to open some of my knowledge to you, the rom flashers/porters. There is alot to know when it comes to devices.
It's kind of hard to make a ROM for this device because unfortunately there is no complete device tree for it.
I've been extensively using the read mode on miui. I've flashed Slim 7 now. I've tried using 4-5 other apps from Playstore and didn't like any of them. Is there a way to get the default read mode of miui on other roms?

Some cm based roms for example ressurection remix have live display in their rom. It is the same feature with read mode.
Did you try cf.lumen? It is even better than stock miui reading mod but it need root for that (other way it works like overlay).
