You're in trouble...
First... Don't use clockworkmod...
Second... Don't use factory reset from bootloader...
Use your external charger... Charge the battery... Boot to bootloader... Flash TWRP...
Boot to twrp... Click mount... Click mount usb... Hook to windows pc... Let windows format your internal SD...
Then reflash your ROM of choice...
Then pray to your deity of choice and hope your phone boots...

OK... Nothing personal... But please don't tell people they have bricked their phone if you do not understand... Just wait... 99% of the people here using the word 'bricked' do not understand...
For the record... If your phone is not in download mode... Its fully recoverable...

Searching the q&a and general sections of the vivid forum should give you the results you want.
To install TWRP:
first, download the .img file of the lastest version of TWRP : http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/holiday
next, download and install the winDroid HTC Vivid all-in-1 toolkit: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2437705
copy the .img file you downloaded from TWRP to the directory containing the "WinDroid HTC Vivid Toolkit.exe" file.
now boot into the bootloader on your vivid (make sure you've completely turned it off by removing and then putting back in the battery, then hold the power button and volume down until the bootloader pops up). Once there, use the volume buttons to highlight "fastboot", then press the power button to select that highlighted option. Now plug your phone into your computer via the usb data cable.
run the windroid HTC Vivid toolkit (say yes to installing drivers), and once the main interface is up, select the "fastboot commands" . in the custom fastboot command textbox, type in "flash recovery <name of img file here>.img" without the quotes, and obviously put in the name of your img file in the <> brackets. That should open a black box, run a bit, and then the black box will say something like "success, all done".
If all has been successful thus far, you now have TWRP recovery installed. just select "recovery" from the bootloader to start up TWRP.
------------------------------------------------
Instead of using the all-in-one kit, you can do the same thing by instead placing the .img file in the directory where you have fastboot located, and then use the same command in fastboot (open a command prompt window there, type in "fastboot flash recovery <insert name here>.img"). But I just typed the other cuz it was easier for me to find the all-in-one kit than the fastboot files.
Please i cant seem to download the windroid htc vivid toolkit from the download link cos it just shows a blank page
I don't know what to tell you. I've followed the link on Firefox successfully both on PC and my android phone. Try a different browser?

ok, so it sounds like the all-in-one kit isn't working because either you're on a 32-bit version of windows and this program is 64-bit (which is surprising for me), or you need to install the latest distribution of c# and .NET from microsoft.
I've collected my fastboot files (including AdbWinApi.dll) into a zip file and uploaded it to mega:
https://mega.co.nz/#!KAQDxB4K!V6AS0VOEgDyTakUKCn0UNg1IsaktEsCj8dAfWx3yp_Q
For my own curiosity, could you tell me what version of windows you are running (fully; if windows XP, then I would want to know "Windows XP Home Edition 32-bit service pack 2", for example)?
windows xp professional version 2002, service pack 2

okay, so you're running a 32-bit OS (still, I don't think the all-in-one is a 64-bit program). I highly recommend bringing your computer up to date, then by getting Service Pack 3: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322389
Also, you can try installing the .NET framework 4.0 to see if that allows windows to understand what the all-in-one program is:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=17851
You don't need to do the things above, but if you're running only service pack 2, your OS isn't as secure (or even as efficient, possibly) as it could be. I included the fastboot files in my previous post, so you don't need to bother with the updating right now, as you can just run fastboot.exe from a command prompt window with the commands I told you before.
If anything is unclear/you don't know what to do, just let me know; I'll help you to the best of my abilities.

Hello guys,
So i unlocked the bootloader, used TWRP recovery, made a nandroid back up, saved a copy of back up on my pc and then flash the Trickdroid rom. Every thing went smoothly till then, as the proximity sensor wasnt working, i installed the xposed framework then went into recovery and flashed the zip file for it. After the reboot, the phone hung on HTC one boot screen, i used the Vol down + power button but the phone is just not switching on in recovery or anything. Connected to my PC, gave adb reboot recovery but it says "device not found". Did the vol+power thing in light as well but didnt help.
What should i do? Please help.

I now know the mistake i did, i flashed trick droid on my one and i was coming from stock 4.1.2. Developer had mentioned that for those coming from 4.1.2, we need to first wipe, install rom, do 1 boot cycle and then wipe again, i missed the last part hence got stuck at the boot screen.
I tried adb but it didnt work, so i used fastboot reboot command and the phone came alive, after which went to recovery and restored my nandroid. What happened to your device?
Boot into bootloader by turning off device and keeping volume down pressed, and then connect your device to your pc so you see "fastboot usb" in red, and then type "fastboot erase cache" followed by "fastboot reboot"

If you dont have any nandroid backups then im afraid theres really nothing you can do besides factory reset..go into the bootloader and try reseting the phone, see if that works.
The reason your computer doesnt read your phone is normally a drivers issues. Heres what you can do to get your computer to notice your phone.
download the file from here and extract the whole FOLDER to your desktop: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1996051
1. boot into recovery
2. connect your phone to the computer
3. go to device manager, just search for it
4. In other devices, there should be something called android phone, open it, and choose update drivers
5. instead of letting the computer search for the drivers, choose the second option to choose your own
6. choose the folder, the whole folder, and your driver, and click install
Now your phone should be recognized by your computer, check by using adb devices in command. If it works, go from there, try pushing xposed disabler, or push a nandroid to your device and restore.

you should download it and use erase cache option then reinstall recovery and see if that helps but i think you will probably end up having to format sd. if you have htc sync it might be able to get some of the stuff from sd before you format

Had this same exact problem, AIO helped me , i had installed TWRP and the AIO opened recovery, then chose recovery and then tried side loading, while doing i then sideloaded the ARHD and voila am back to normal.
The problem and my question is , i flashed with bulletproof kernel and then that created all the problem. now somehow it has booted and i still have bulletproof kernel. Am scared to reboot (am a noob all over again since i bought wp) , if i flash it with a stock kernel deodexed or odexed will that create a problem? I have ARHD10.2 Stock ROM. Please advice.
I was trying to flash one of the kitkat based new roms i found on this site through the app and it didn't seem to work as i recieved the message saying installation aborted, then my phone buzzed and flashed and restarted but it's stuck on the htc quietly brilliant screen and i cannot get to recovery at all. when i try i see the lights at the bottom menu buttons just flashing.
I did a backup before the install but can't get into recovery now. i've found a proper nandroid backup but my phone wont turn off, restart or go into recovery now, so pissed. please help asap
p.s. the rom i can't even remember the name of it but it said it was one for all versions of htc one.
mine is the canadian version on rogers if it matters.
.and it looks like my computer isn't recognizing it now either

What I'm gonna say is ridiculous! BUT IF YOU DIDN'T **** UP YOUR BOOTLOADER you should be able to boot into the bootloader by performing these steps:
First: Press the power and volume up/down button for about two minutes... your phone should respond with vibrate/flashing...
Secondly: Hold your phone under a bright light and press the powerbutton for a minute or so... then try different combinations with the hardwarebutton until it boots into the bootloader.
From bootloader you can perform the following steps to get a OS working on your phone:
This is a quote by me, someone had almost the same problem like you:
Okay, first here you have the correct adb and fastboot files, I uploaded them quickliy for you, I think this way they should work properly:
http://uploaded.net/file/ykwya517
Next thing are these HTC Drivers, in this post are a few of them: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2089508 and on my computer there are the 4.3.0.001 drivers, so I'd recommand downloading those(Credits go to @mdmower):
http://www.mediafire.com/download/n5...+4.3.0.001.exe
Now shut down your phone and boot in into the bootloader with pressing the power button and the volume down button. Then select fastboot and enter this menu. Now if the drivers are installed correctly there should be written FASTBOOT USB. I think you said you are unlocked... so the following command should run just fine. Open a command prompt and navigate to the folder where adb and fastboot are placed. In this folder you copy your custom recovery(TWRP) and you flash it with this command:
Code:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery [recoveryname].img
And DON'T worry about adb in the bootloader! ADB doesn't work with the bootloader. Now you boot into your recovery by chosing Recovery somewhere in your bootloader. If you are in the bootloader you somehow need to push the ROM to your HTC One... This should work with this command...
Code:
adb push "C:\FolderWhereRomIsStored\rom.zip" "/data/media/0/rom.zip"
Click to collapse
And if this doesn't copy it correctly simply place your zip on your computer to a folder that is empty and push this folder to your HTC One with:
Code:
adb push "C:\FolderWhereRomIsStored" "/data/media/0"
Click to collapse
Now you are good to go, simply flash the zip form TWRP. I think you know how this works Simply go to install and then chose the zip and flash it.
If you now want to s off... then ask me again. I'll give you an advice

Hey there. It's quite some time ago since I last "played around" with my HTC One M7 but I think I am still able to help you solve your problem.
Firsr a few questions:
> What OS are you using for adb? Win7/8/10?
> Do you have an USB OTG cable? (would make fixing very easy. You just copy the OS zip onto an USB stick and then plug it into your Cellphone using an OTG cable. Then flashing can be done without any problems)
If you've already solved your problem, notify my anyways

sorry i was at work but OS is windows 7 home premium
maybe i should look into the OTG cable.
i get a message saying "cannot read rom.zip" when trying to use command line to push as per the thousands of tutorials online lol.
when i plug in the phone to computer and turn phone on (which is on the HTC splash screen since no OS) then a popup on computer says installing device driver software.
Android Phone X Device Unplugged
USB Composite Device Ready to use
HTC MTP Device X Failed
USB storage devie Ready to use
My HTC Ready to use
HTC android USB Device Ready to use
my cable is really wobbly and none ive tried lately seem to want to fit in the slot snug so HTC MTP Device installed again and now says "Ready to Use also, then cycled the install again and settled on FAILED so only Android Phone has an X for device unplugged since no OS to turn on and HTC MTP has an X for Fail. this is where ill enter fastboot mode or recovery to try push/flash my copy of cm14 and gapps to the device.
i have cmd window open with rom and gapps and an updated version of twrp in adb and fastboot folder.
i entered fastboot mode and pushed recovery through then as per the tutorial i then entered recovery which flashed properly with the new version. then i went to adb sideload and all commands worked like adb kill-sever and adb usb also adb devices came with text saying list of attached devices which theyre is none.
then adb sideload rom.zip came back with:
error: device not found
I dont know much about this stuff (def not tech savvy), but I decided to take my bad esn Sprint HTC One (running 4.3) and try to unlock it myself. I was successful in unlocking the bootloader, and I even rooted the device on my own (woo!!!). I was on the last stage of finally unlocking the phone, so I decided to go for it.
I tried to follow these steps to finally unlock my HTC One, but I did not know how to go to /system/app to replace the files (The 'Root Reader' app didn't show /system/app in my phone).
://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2491840
The files were:
HtcOMADM_SettingsPlugin_SPCS.apk
HtcOMADM_SPCS.apk
As a result, I tried to flash the copy files mentioned previously using this video as a guide
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JhR4Je4I8yw
I dragged and dropped the copies into the 'system storage' (not into a specific file) and started wiping data in TWRP 2.6 (Im assuming I wiped something that I shouldnt have). However, now whenever I try to boot my HTC One out of TWRP, I get the 'No OS installed..." message and it just just keeps showing the white screen with the HTC logo when I do boot anyways. When I connect my HTC One to my PC via usb cable, it doesnt even show up. I decided to take a screen shot of my files/drives/etc that I used. When I click on the 'instal' button in TWRP, it no longer shows the 'android' folder while scrolling through the list of things. My phone also automatically shuts off when leaving it on idle (TWRP running) for a bit, it doesnt connect to my PC anymore too
What should I do to get the phone working again? Could I unlock it from here or do I have to backtrack or something? I have very little knowledge about this stuff so please try to explain things easily for me lol
You need to relock your phone and run a ruu and to reroot your phone with the latest version of twrp 2.6 .3.0 and supersu 1.9.1 I think but you can check that when you run the ruu in the app store real quick to see if it is the latest version.
On the PC download the RUU
http://dl3.htc.com/application/RUU_..._NV_SPCS_4.38_003_release_348053_signed_2.exe
Connect USB cable to the phone to the PC (keep the phone connected until you are done)
1. Boot your phone to the bootloader (volume down and power on). Go to fastboot option on the phone menu.
2. Now using fastboot on your PC type fastboot oem lock
3. Boot your phone to the bootloader (volume down and power on). Go to fastboot option on the phone menu.
4. Now using fastboot on your PC type fastboot oem rebootRUU
5. Run the RUU that you downloaded. That will put your phone back to stock.
---------------------------------------
To unlock the bootloader:
1. Goto http://www.htcdev.com/ follow the steps.
Install custom recovery
2. Install TWRP. Download http://techerrata.com/file/twrp2/m7wls/openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.0-m7wls.img put in in the same folder on your PC as your fastboot.exe command.
3. fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.0-m7wls.img
4. reboot phone.
Install root:
download http://download.chainfire.eu/351/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.65.zip?retrieve_file=1
copy UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.65.zip to the phone
Boot your phone to the bootloader (volume down and power on). Go to recovery option on the phone menu. That will boot into TWRP. Use the install and install the zip UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.65.zip.

How would I do that? I just installed the HTC 4.2.001 driver to my pc as well
So i was trying to get my at&t htc one back to 100% stock so i could send it in for warranty. I got my replacement htc one, but while in the process of going back to stock something happened the phone wont load into recovery, when it boots into the os it stays at the htc screen but plays the at&t boot animation sound, and to top it off the old phone wont connect properly through usb (the new one will just fine). So i am stuck in bootloader anyone have any ideas?

I don't know what you mean by I pushed the FUU and flashed it. do you mean you flashed firmware?
If you flashed a custom hboot with no red text you will brick the phone when you lock the bootloader.
Don't lock bootloader !!
Use this tool to remove Tampered and set to Locked
Guru_Bootloader_Reset_1.0.zip
http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23501681358538585
MD5: fdb8264a8f4741bae22939cd7734f7c2
at this point just flash the AT&T RUU
http://dl3.htc.com/application/RUU_...13_10.38j.1157.04_release_334235_signed_2.exe
and see where your at.
From the Guide you linked
Before you can proceed with the 2 following threads for removing Tampered and then Locking you need to have Superuser installed. There are links to how to do this in each thread. You can also use this toolkit. Just remember to delete the SuperUser and busybox apk if installed before you return the phone.
2. - First remove the Tampered Flag. Instructions are in this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2477792
3. - Second Lock the bootloader. Instructions are in this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2475914
The older REVONE commands/instructions for Tampered and Locking:
Now since you had to install SuperUser to perform the previous 2 steps make sure you unroot by deleting the Superuser.apk and busybox.apk (If installed) from the /system/app folder and also the su binary from /system/xbin on your phone.
If you ran a RUU your systems firmware and software is all reset back to stock. If you restored via Stock ROM reset or Nandroid you should be running the stock software but it could be on non stock (version mismatch) firmware.
In either case your bootloader should display Locked and no Tampered just like out of the box. Now all that’s left is to S-On. To do that issue this fastboot command:
Code:
fastboot oem writesecureflag 3
Done - device should be just like it was out of the box with no indication of any modding.
*******I am not responsible for any problems you encounter. I am simply informing you of what is needed to complete a restoration to Stock. Read all steps and commands carefully and perform them in the correct order.********

are they both windows 8 computers ?
Windows 8.1 and hboot 1.44 don't get along
you'll have to use a driver hack to get it working
Both windows 8.1 like i said the weird part is one phone works perfect through usb the old one (the one i need to work) doesn't

yeah .. here's the driver hack to make it work
Download
I repeat this is a REALLY DIRTY solution that may harm your system, personal data, hardware and/or cat.
Here are the steps:
0. Have a Linux or Windows LiveCD just in case something goes wrong
1. Download and extract files from attachment
2. Navigate to the folder corresponding to your system version (x86 = 32-bit, x64 = 64 bit)
3. Right-click franken-usb.bat and click "Run as Administrator"
5. Wait for it to finish and reboot the system. If everything went fine, you will boot your system successfully
6. Install ADB/Fastboot drivers just like on Windows 8
7. Connect your phone in Fastboot mode to your USB 2.0 port and check if it works
8. Enjoy and wait for official fix
How does it work:
It's not any kind of magic - it just replaces Windows 8.1's usbhub.sys and usbport.sys with Windows 8's ones.
Old files don't check for BOS descriptor so Fastboot can work.
Script updated - it should now actually copy the files but please double check if files were copied to C:\Windows\system32\Drivers!
Hope it helps you!
Regards!

It Works I been using it for over a year
Ok thank you very much i will try this when i get home from work tomorrow and hopefully its works for me then i can just follow the guide you posted to get back to stock then all will be good
im still getting the same issue with the drivers i made sure to manually install the files but still no luck.
Have you tried a Linux live boot disc? If you have troubles with Windows drivers, always fall back to Linux as it will always work if the device isn't faulty.

just do the steps in order
the RUU.exe step will put the OS back on the phone and your essentially done after that
From HTC ..ignore the t-mobile
Manual system update instructions:
If you are outside of T-Mobile/Wi-Fi coverage, or the update is not found, you may perform a manual system update. This process requires that you download and install HTC Sync Manager first in order to get the proper drivers. If you do not have HTC Sync Manager installed already, you may download the software from http://www.htc.com/www/software/htc-sync-manager/.
WARNING: Performing the system update manually will delete all information from the device. Ensure all information is backed up before proceeding. See the Help & How To section of this website for more information on backing up your device contents.
Performing the ROM Update:
1. Download and save the HTC One™ for T-Mobile ROM update to your PC.
2. Connect your device to your PC via the supplied USB cable.
3. If the device is not recognized by the PC, ensure you have HTC Sync Manager installed and then disconnect and reconnect the device from the USB cable.
4. Once the device is properly recognized on the PC, locate the HTC One™ for T-Mobile ROM Update that you downloaded. Double-click on the file to launch the system update wizard.
5. Follow all of the system update wizard instructions shown on your PC.
6. Once the update is complete, click Finish in the Wizard and the device will reboot.
7. Once the device reboots, the initial setup wizard will appear.
8. Once the initial setup process is complete, the device is ready for use.
Note: If the ROM update wizard fails to recognize the device, close the wizard and then follow the steps below:
· From a powered off state, hold VOLUME DOWN while powering on the device.
· Use the volume buttons to scroll to FASTBOOT and then press the POWER button to select it.
· Connect the device to the PC while in this state and attempt the ROM update again.
To exit FASTBOOT manually, use the volume keys to navigate to REBOOT and press the POWER button to select it.

Very good ...just hit the thanks button and change the thread title to [solved] if you get time
hey sorry I'm sure this has been covered but I've been trying to root my new phone for the past 15+ hours and after installing Android revolution HD one 92.04a9 through Team Win Recovery project v2.6.3.0 it now keeps restarting in recovery and then takes me to Recovery project after a htc logo screen.
This is the first time I have attempted to root a phone and I'm a noob evidently so please go easy on me. (all I wanted was to hook up my bluetooth controller so I can play FF7 with more ease) any help would be greatly appreciated as I've just moved from London to the middle of nowhere and I'm bored out of my mind without my beloved HTC
Thanks a lot Mr. Tickles
I am so frustrated with general support of HTC. I am trying to get in touch with service for two months and no luck. My next phone won't be HTC for sure, I know.

Try factory reset from twrp recovery and the flash again. Also you can try to download the zip of the ROM again to be sure it is downloaded correctly and try change the twrp version.
You are using an older version of twrp. Try updating it first to the latest version and try flashing your rom again
Get the latest one here
https://dl.twrp.me/m7/
But how do I do that if my phone wont appear in my computer any more?
Its 100% connected to my computer though because its appearing in devices printers but under the name android 1.0
You cannot enter in fastboot mode? If you can, then you flash recovery via fastboot

@istribo is right, to flash arhd you need at least twrp 2.6.3.3 or newer (latest version is 2.8.7.0) To update your recovery, make sure you have HTC drivers installed on your computer and also uninstall htc sync if its installed (but do not uninstall the drivers). Download your new twrp .img file from the link istribo posted above, save it in the same folder where you have adb and fastboot installed on your computer. Reboot your phone in bootloader / fastboot usb mode. Open a terminal window from your adb/fastboot folder and use these commands to flash the recovery:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery name_of_file.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Then reboot in recovery and flash arhd.
Note that you should also have a 7.xx.xxx.x firmware installed on your phone if flashing Android 5.0.2 Sense roms. You can know your firmware version with the command "fastboot getvar version-main"
My phone wont appear in my computer so how am I supposed to copy over the files...

right so the fact my phone wont appear in my computer doesn't matter then?
Okay sorry for being silly I've just read that properly. Problem is when I got to install adb/fast boot it says something like incorrect parameter 'sheppard'

Download the sdk tools here (fastboot and adb): https://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html#Other
Download and install HTC drivers: http://www.mediafire.com/download/k7trah995whrw0d/HTC-Mobile-Driver_v4.16.0.001.exe
Connect your phone to a USB 2 port directly from your computer (no external usb hub, better to use back ports, not front ports)
Reboot your phone in bootloader mode by holding power and volume down. When in bootloader, make sure you see the red "fastboot usb" caption, if not select the "fastboot" option using the vol up/down and power key to enter. Once "fastboot" option is selected, make sure you now see the red "fastboot usb" caption.
Open a terminal window from your sdk tools folder
Type "fastboot getvar all" without the quotes en hit enter
copy paste the output here so we can see it (but do not post your IMEI/Serialno)
Then update your twrp:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery name_of_file.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Sorry I forgot to say I got my phone all working and rooted! Thank you all so much for your help! wouldn't of done it without you guys.
