Porting 6th Sense - Galaxy S Advance I9070 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello Guys
I found this in the HTC One development.
Is this portable to our device?
Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2690121

I dont think because :
It is not the same screen relolution.
Not the same cheap set.
And this is samsung and this rom is for HTC ONE.
So it is not portnable.

Yes it can be ported in the same way as we port xperia apps but it is difficult.

You need to follow whole guide. You need Java sdk, then you need to put its path to system path. You need newest apktool if you want to decompile KitKat app.

You need to find what apk is for that. I do not know, you must research.

[Q] Question about deodex

Hi guys! I have a quick question about deodexing. If I deodex a stock app (the ones that came with TouchWiz and require its framework), the will run on CM7 (in other words, it removes the tw-framework requirement)?
If not, how can I 'port' these apps, remove that firmware requirement?
Thanks!
No,it wont work,if i am understanding you correctly...
It will not work.

Trying to explain a little better: I want to remove the tw-framework dependency. If deodexing don't to this, what does? What I can do?
Decompile all apps, twframework and start editing smali and xml. It seems like quite a job, and I wish you the best of lucks.
Where to edit and which files exactly? No idea, have to look at the code and follow the references to twframework.

If I copy the twframework files to an Cyanogen system, it would work, then?
Seems a lot more easier!

No. It aint that easy bro! Samsung has made it very very tough to port!
No one has been able to port whole twframework on XDA till now!

Well, I didn't meant to port the entire framework anyway. The only thing that keeps me from using CM all the time is the lack of some stock apps, and the ports I've found weren't good enough to my taste. (yes, I'm a d*ck when it comes to quality, it HAS to be perfect, otherwise it won't do)
I guess I'll just stay with the stock ROM. Thanks guys!

if u have root, try follow this threat: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2404770
but beware, the attach android.policy.jar just for fw 284. if u have newer fw, just edit u'r own android.policy.jar and follow the step below that post...
I have .254, before with my Xperia U I have got that but, now I have Jelly Bean, is not different with SP ?

Where does it come from ? Source ? Your personal android-policy ? What have you changed ?
I'm skeptical but understand me.
Haha, i understand I compiled it myself using the guide from ozz_y. It works fine just keep a copy of your original file.(just in case) it has very small changes. Just apply it and no need to reboot.

[REQ] Tutorial for porting?

Hello everybody.
I would like to know how can I port apps? And what tools do I need.
[Currently], I would like to port the one-handed keyboard from android 4.3 (290) to android 4.2 (257) and I don't have a clue as of how to do it, all I know is that I need the apk ( I have apk and odex (don't know if I need odex) ) and I know that there are some .so and some libs need to be copied as well.
Maybe if I could do this i'll try to port the handwriting from Z Ultra.
Regards,
~J2C

No thanks, I don't want 3rd party apps & I want to do something myself
Ok, so I got the apk and odex (don't know what it does, but I got it anyway) and decompiled the apk and found the "lib" folder and I don't know what to do next. I'll keep searching.
Hope someone can help me with this.

Will do, as soon as I go home.
P.S: libs are not in the apk
Edit: it looks like the apk should be deodexed to use the tools I have =/ Tried downloading a ported apk and found out that it is deodexed, pushed to /system/app and fixed permissions, Now I don't get "stopped working", but when I click anywhere to type something, the keyboard simply doesn't show up. it does show up in the settings when connecting to WiFi or something.

Well it depends exactly which menu and where the worshiper apk file is...it could be in framework-res or in systemui or it could be in an individual app apk...so you need to know the name and location of whatever file is needed so you can edit and recompile

I would suggest downloading a few custom roms compatible with your device and looking under the good to see the ways in which the dev's have done this. That's a very common mod, I'm sure there's lots of guides that will demonstrate step by step, with slight variations for different devices...

nothing is impossible.
You really like to have a port? Or should it just look like Stock Android?
there are probably several ways to obtain what you want.
