There is no consequences and this is reversible. The CID and MID must match the ruu you want to use

push the nandroid to the backup path (the path might require to be generated 1st by doing a backup of what you have). then restore from custom recovery. /data/media/0/TWRP/BACKUPS/YOUR_SN/YOUR_BACKUP_FOLDER

You have S-OFF, you can restore your phone to any stock version with a ruu! You only have to change CID and maybe MID...
You could use the international .401 ruu or .1540 dev edition.

no, if you send your phone for warranty you'' need to be 100% stock t-mobile. In this case you'll have to restore a nandroid backup, reset the bootloader tampered flag, turn the bootload to LOCKED (not RELOCKED), flash a firmware.zip with the stock recovery, and turn back S-ON

[Q] Return to stock from developer softmod 1.57 HBOOT?

If you need any other information about the phone, let me know and I'll get it for you. Thanks in advance!
BTW, I tried searching, etc to figure out how to do this, but it's all older information and they were all using HBOOT 1.44 (if I need to downgrade that, I've done it before.)

I found this RUU from @Behold_this, it is the 5.14.531.1. There is a Guru Bootloader Reset Tool to make it easier to lock your bootloader.
Well, the CID and MID have been modded, but other than that it's stock aside from the developer rom.
Also, don't forget you will need to change your MID & CID. Here is a tool for changing the MID without ENG HBOOT | Aroma GUI. The MID and CID you might want to change before running the RUU.
Also if TMOBILE cares for s-on then you need to go back all the way to 1.44 hboot with 4.1.2
That's what I did. I changed the MID/CID, removed the "tampered" flag, flashed hboot 1.44, locked the bootloader, flashed the RUU, then locked the bootloader, and set s-on. It's all back to stock now, unrooted. Looks like I never touched a thing. Also, it's going back to HTC I did the advanced replacement, hence the reason I needed to make sure it was completely back to stock. I'm sure if HTC wanted to they could figure out that it had been messed with, but I seriously doubt they would bother since it's for the purple haze in the camera.

No OTA after return to stock

hello
i have M7 developer edition US_001 with S-off my problem is i tried all stock rom version from HTCDEV.com but when the phone is restored back to stock rom it doesn't receive OTA from the phone directly, so i get stock in the same version i installed with RUU.

i've never checked the ones on htcdev, but a full RUU would be the same; size should be between 1GB to 1.5GB, the 100MB files are just kernel source codes not RUUs

if your phone has TWRP
just do a backup then boot the phone and hook it to your PC
copy the extracted nandroid back to the same location as the backup you just made. reboot to recovery and restore the backup.
if all that's too complicated just use the Guru Reset I posted
and during the install choose install stock recovery and install Radio and Do not Install Root!!
OMG big thank you my bro And successful life

Thank you for reminding I didn't pay attention to this
as for s-off it is not possible on my boot loader and that's why I was trying to follow the guide in the link I posted which includes flashing a custom Rom that includes the stock recovery and then relocking the boot loader and then using the ruu tool to recover the orginal Rom so to sum it up I want to go back to stock Rom without s-off

Unfortunately there is no RUU for your phone to return to stock, which is what i assume you want?
To get s off you will need sunshine app, it will be able to unlock the bootloader and s off at same time on stock/stockish roms. It will cost $25 tho...

I bought this phone from Singapore and it came unlocked without a subscriber. I matched up the model and the hboot but does'nt the baseband need to either be the same or higher for restoring to a factory RUU?
Please post any suggestions as I'm excited to get this back to stock.

Their is no 6.x RUU
You need s-off to downgrade
SunShine S-Off
http://theroot.ninja/
or restore your stock nandroid and flash stock recovery to match your version
Do I need to do anything extra because I'm restoring from cwm to stock?

restore your backup / flash stock recovery
if it doesn't work you'll have to find a Stock rom to replace the files your missing or that were changed
I don't have a stock backup so which rom can I use to restore to stock?

Then you need to do what clsA said earlier, quoted above.
Without a stock nandroid backup can I find out what was on the phone before so I can do a restore? I just want it to have stock and be able to s-on after its installed.

You had 6.13.707.7 on there before, and how are you going to restore if you don't have a nandroid ?
I still have a rom, works great but I just wondering how to go back to stock. Any asia version that will work after I do S-Off.
I'm spectulating if I have an RUU that meets these I can downgrade after using s-off: hboot 8064 asia 4T.28.3218.04 Is this correct?
