Anybody else not able to use rc with the moto x. Its driving me nuts. I really need it to work. It does nothing when I hit roam only. I am rooted with stock rom and xposed + Gravitybox. Thanks.

I can't believe I'm the only one who uses this utility...

Roaming? Like when I gotta pay more cause I'm out of my area and it picks up other network towers?
Yeah...I gotta pay a lot extra if that happens.....disabled. lol.
I doubt anyone uses roam only. You may actually be the first.
Unless you're talking something else entirely.
Good luck tho.

Nah. there's an app called roam control. It allows you to force roam. For sprint users its a must because they roam on Verizon's towers. I need it to work. Any help would be appreciated

What update are you referring to?
Update to roam control
I am familiar with roam control. If you read the app description, it specifically states it works with a few specific devices only. Moto x is not one, and I can confirm. Not a possibility, sorry. We can put this to rest now...

Yes, right. But I've had wallet running on a Verizon Galaxy Nexus since it came out, sideloaded, no root. So, maybe someone can figure out how to do this for the Moto X or the Maxx?? Hopefull
without Root it won't happen, period.
Wallet worked fine on my nexus 4 stock UN rooted on AT&T

Yes it did but you didn't buy it from at&t. It remains to be seen if wallet will be available on the dev edition moto x.

Just ordered a Moto X for Verizon and I need to find information about tethering this phone to my pc. I use this alot because I have unlimited data through VZW... So it would be really nice to continue using it.

As of right now you'd need to root (then use WiFi Tether, or make the necessary changes to use the stock tethering). FoxFi doesn't work w/ the Moto X on KitKat at the moment. No word on when it will, but it may be related to a cert issue in KitKat.
Root is no issue for me... I think the longest any of my phones have gone without root access is maybe 6 days from purchase... I've always rooted my phones. First thing I researched when ordering the X was whether or not they had root for kitkat

Will the old school android wifi tether work?

try using easy tether ... and foxfi has updated and works on kitkat on my s4... get the add-on and key, and you're golden :good:
You didn't define whether the phone you ordered is a Developer Edition. Because as far as I know only the DE can be rooted on Verizon.
How the heck do you remove it? Or can you?

You can't without rooting.

I guess since it's allowed on the iphone, people don't really care, so they thought why not do it for all the phones. ATT does it will all their phones.

Going from verizon to att isn't much of a difference. I guess you should have gone with tmobile if you didn't want carrier branding or bloatware. The tmo moto x has nothing.

Well you could have bought the tmobile moto x and used it on ATT. It comes sim unlocked. Anyway, I'll try not to make you feel worse

I remember on my two last Samsung phones the would automatically connect to ATTWiFi hotspots.
Now that I am on a Moto Dev ED with ATT service is there a way to be able to use that same function with this phone?

Only the XT1058 AT&T variant has that functionality built-in.

Could that app be used on the XT1053 by chance?
Don't want to change my build prop tho.

I've seen similar posts to this, but none with any kind of solid answer so far. I have a chance to get a XT1095 for pretty cheap tomorrow and would like a clear answer to the question of it not only working on Cricket and also get LTE? If not will it work on HSPA? Thx in advance, I'm kind of confused by all this and would love to hear from somebody that has or had this particular model on Cricket. I'm coming from a Nexus 5 which was just plug n play with my Cricket SIM so that's what has me a bit lost here.
You shouldn't have any problems with it. I see they have a GSM sim. As long as that's the one you have you should get LTE.

Yeah the guy had it on T-Mobile so its definitely GSM compatible. I'm mostly just wondering about getting the LTE/data to work. I saw an article online that said the XT1095 had less bands than the other variants. Either way thanks for replying so quickly!
I also read though that Motorola was planning on adding the missing bands via update but can't find if that update was already pushed or not.
The band issue was with kit kat it has been updated with 5.0 and 5.1. You should get LTE and if you don't it will probably be because you have to set up the APN yourself which is easy.
Sent from my XT1095 using Tapatalk
Now that's exactly what I was wanting to know, TY! I'm very familiar with how to change APN's so it looks like I'm good to go!
I'm using my XT 1095 on cricket and I'm very pleased. It is LTE compatible but be advised to use the APN settings on cricket website. As long as you are aware of crickets speed limitations, you will be pleased.
