download this exe file.I still dont know if S-off required for it lets hope its not. After downloading it boot into bootloade .go to fastboot mode now connect your phone with PC via usb now Run the RUU.exe (that you downloaded earlier) on the PC as administrator. It takes a few (3,4) minutes to boot up, so don't be alarmed if it doesn't appear immediately.
Follow the prompts. It should ask you to ensure your phone is plugged into the computer .click on update rom and then process will start it takes 10 minutes to complete best of luck

I would have to say it sounds like you have some sort of hardware problem going on there, maybe a bad nand.
you could try flashing twrp recovery and then doing a full format (format data) then try all of the above again, see if that works, if it still fails then id say it was down to hardware.

yes you can do that, but you will have to flash an earlier firmware and ruu before going s-on, with the later ones, like the one you have on there now, going s-on brings back the tampered flag.

yup that will be perfect, downgrade your hboot to 1.44, run the ruu.zip, make sure your firmware is downgraded to, it should be and then remove tampered flag from the bootloader if its still there, then lock the bootloader and s-on.

HTC supports Rooting so warranty may still be ok. Depending on your provider honoring it is another thing but I'm sure you can go directly to HTC if your provider has a problem with it.

HTC will refuse to repair, and make you pay for repairs if you have TAMPERED or UNLOCKED or RELOCKED flags on your bootloader, they will shift all fault and blame onto you.

I guess if you have experienced this and or have been told this personally then you know. I'm looking at the htcdev site that says "not all claims... May be covered under warranty." it's worth a try if you can't resurrect it.
II see there are a lot of scenarious and ways to get your phone back to stock depending on the specific situation with your phone. well here's my phone. I'll be upgrading to an S5 here soon and plan on handing my phone down to my mom. I'd like to get it back to stock so when I bring to sprint there shouldn't be any issues getting it trasnfered over.
I am currently'
running the latest version of viper
It says S-ON on bootloader
HBOOT 1.57.0000
At the top it says tampered and unlocked
The recovery I am using is TWRP V2.8.1.0
Someone walk me through to this to get this thing to a point whre it looks like it has never been modified or send me to the appropriate guide. Thanks!

When booted (into the OS) It shows a My Android Device in device manager, No errors of any kind. While on the bootloader it simply shows a "unknown device" in the USB tree. While in TWRP it shows the same thing as when booted into the OS.

You need to force the driver when in the boot loader then, just right click and select update driver, choose let me pick myself NOT let Windows search, it will fail, and from there go manual all the way till the driver is installed.
It should say myhtc in device e manager when booted and in recovery by the way, you can get the lastest drivers by downloading and installing HTC sync manager from HTC site, just be sure to uninstall HTC sync after the install from add remove programs, you should see HTC driver package just above it, leave that alone.

you can flash the same firmware that's on the phone now or higher
it has nothing to do with stock. If you want stock just flash a stock odex rom or find a nandroid of your carrier
i did had nandbackup of my rom .. am on s-on .. if i restore backup with twrp and change my recovery to stock and re lock my bootloader .. will my future updates will update my firmware to 7xxxxxxxxxx.. coz to update firmware rte now i need to be on s-off nd i cant s-off ..cant pay 25$
My mom is going to be the one using the phone. IS there any basically stock ROMS floating around out there? I just want to give the appearance when its booted up its stock. My only other concern is can the device be activated if its rooted and with a custom rom? Even the viper rom still maintains the auto activate feature it seems. I just want it to be stable for her so I don't have to constantly explains how to do things. As far as warranty goes she won't be maintain the equipment protection on the device so whatever happens to it is on her. I'm half tempted to see if there is something they might due about the cracked camera lense on it...I've had two htc ones so far and they haven't cost me anything to replace other htan the monthly insurance plan.
Hi Guys,
I have been reading around the forum but cant seem to find the answer to my problem. Or the suggestions are going over my head, so hope you can help.
I have a stock htc one m7 that is unrooted but it is sim unlocked. Went to bed with the phone working and then woke up with it stuck on the htc boot screen.
Things I have tried:
- get into HBOOT (which i can), then try recovery. This just reboots the phone to the white htc screen or screen just goes off.
- try and hard reset from hboot, but this does the same and either turns the screen black or reboots.
Both times i have left the phone for a while to see if it is up to anything but nothing happens.
I read about clearing the cache, but I could not get my head around the guides I read, so is there an idiots guide (I usually pretty good with tech stuff but not done much to do with phones etc)
Or any other suggestions. I use my phone for work so would be nice to get it working again without wiping it but most of the stuff should be back up anyway.
Thanks
Tom
From what I have tried I guess I should now try and flash the RRU?
The phone is on UKs EE network, as it is not rooted do I need to flash it with their branded rom or not? If so where can I get that from.
Thanks

Yep that's what we wanted, unfortunately there's no ruu for your phone
If you've got warranty on the device I would send it in for repair.
If you don't have warranty you gonna need to unlock the bootloader to do anything with it. If your gonna do it go here www.htcdev.com register an account and go to the Unlock My Bootloader section of the site and follow the instructions to unlock :good:
Ok. I will do that.
So once the bootloader is unlocked, what is my solution? installing a different Ruu? Or installing a different Rom (or are they the same thing)

Ok. I will do that.
So once the bootloader is unlocked, what is my solution? installing a different Ruu? Or installing a different Rom (or are they the same thing)
Thanks

Once your Unlocked you can flash a Custom or Unbranded Stock Rom. To be able to use RUU's you will need to go s-off. As your on hboot 1.57 the only way to s-off is Sunshine app. But this costs $25 to use. So I would just go with flashing a Custom Recovery and ROM for the time being. :good:
Unlocking the bootloader void warranty. If you have none, then proceed. In my opinion, your phone has suffered hardware failure and will not be recoverable, hence warranty.
Thanks
Thanks for the help guys. Turns out its still under warranty which is good news. I know with other custom roms you can use adb to retrive info off the device.
Any chance I can do the same, as most of the stuff is backed up except some photos ( last couple of months worth).
If not Ill get over it but just in case.
Thanks for your help so far.

Hi,
I am pretty sure I have permanently bricked my phone, my PC no longer detects it (it used to, and I have tried reinstalling drivers several times)
When I turn on my phone, I see the HTC Logo, then it goes to a black screen, the only way for me to leave this black screen is hold power button and wait for capacitive keys to flash 115 times before it shuts off completely...I have access to Recovery Mode and am not rooted.
Any help is greatly appreciated as I've been trying to fix this for almost 8 hours now
(I have a HTC One M7 running OS~7.19.771.21)

EDIT: Relocked device because I am an idiot and now can't unlock...can get into recovery only once (when submitting unlock token, after restart I become RELOCKED again)...also I launch into Clockwork for recovery instead of TWRP for some reason, I think I occidentally flashed it at some point, every time I restart I get warned that I don't have an OS and asked if I would like to root (Y/N - doesn't change anything, still no boot)

The phone must be locked or relocked to flash the RUU. Can you please post a screenshot (or copy/paste) the entire command window so I can take a look?

The "Mount SDCARD failed" errors are normal, there is no sd card on that phone. These error will always shows when booting in recovery mode. The problem was most likely caused by rebooting the phone before the update was finished, hence why its now only booting in recovery mode. You'll need to post the output of "fastboot getvar all" (hide your imei and serialno) before I, or someone else, can help you further.

Hi Alray,
I am having the same issue with my htc 610 and I am glad that i was able to see this thread by google. I am wondering if you could give me some advises here. Regarding RUU, which one should I download from htc? Because there are three RUUs for htc 610 on htc website, pre-paid, post-paid and unlock. I got the phone from walmart that was labeled as "unlock". Should I use the one under "unlocked"?
And when it comes to following instructions posted in the collection thread, should I go by HTC Desire 601 RUU Collection thread? Thanks a bunch!

your version-main is 1.54.502.16 so it's the pre-parid verison.
download from here: http://dl3.htc.com.s3.amazonaws.com...1.1248827416.1501377631-1468744157.1486469825
It's a .exe ruu, so connect your phone to your pc with the usb cable (make sure it's correctly detected) then launch the ruu program and follow instructions. I don't know anything about the Desire 610 but afaik, all htc phones, when S-ON, must have a locked or re-locked bootloader to flash a ruu. So if it's unlocked, re-lock it using "fastboot oem lock" before using the ruu.
