Just noticed the HTC tv app was available in the play store. Installed it and it required me to install another htc app (htc service update I believe ).
2 questions, one, what exactly is this second app and two, could this mean we may soon be able to have the sense camera on an aosp rom?

1) The 2nd app is similar to the Google Play Services app which is to be installed with other Google Apps, if im not mistaken. Its the HTC Service app
2) Depends on HTC's plans. Since they haven't announced anything, we can only assume

I noticed today, my google play store has never updated, I was looking through some apps and watched the demo video for one, it popped up an error occurred when I went back. I hit the play store again and it had updated itself from v3. something to the latest version. Really odd how it updated. I like the new store though
Just checked mine now, Google must be rolling it out to the UK at last, still not received my 1.29 update yet though dam ee.

Ok,so ive searched and searched trying to find out how to use emojis(iphone style)on a stock Jellybean 4.2.2 htc one(not rooted),and all it comes up with in search is ROMS.I have the standard emoji faces, but after the iphone style (buildings, animals, etc).I was using Chompsms, which had a plugin for emoji, but chompsms was using 30% of my battery life a day.Ive downloaded and tried installing a few off the Playstore, but they still dont show up.Can someone suggest something?Am i doing something wrong? This is my first Android phone,so please be gentle.Any advice would be appreciated

There's an emoji keyboard in the play store. It's a piece of crap though and it sucks to have to change keyboards back and forth.

Try Textra with the associated free emoji plug in. It has all the iphone emojis and works fine for me.
I had the chompsms app(also made by Delicous inc),but it was destroying my battery life for some reason.I also had the emoji plug in for chompsms, which would be the same as Textra.I was hoping there would be a setting.somewhere that would enable native Emoji, without rooting or require different roms and/or crappy, half done play store apps

I second TextraSMS. Aside from the native CM10.2 messaging app, it's the best one I found in the Play Store.

Okay speaking of the native CM messaging app, would it work to just grab the messenger.apk and install it as a system app in a stock based rom? Or is that crazy talk?

What's the fastest and easiest way to sync my phone contacts, emails, messages, and notes from my iPhone 5 to the HTC One?

Does this also sync my iPhone apps that are compatible on HTC One? I mean like does it check what apps I have and then downloads them from Google Play automatically or do I have to download manually.

Manually.
Also, apps you purchased in app store don't carry over to play store, so you'd need to pay again

It's now HTC remote, and it's in the TV app.
Well I know that but there is also 1 called smart remote that cost me $10

From what I have read he closed the project down quite some time ago. There was an alternative being developed but that dev ran out of time/steam and has partially released it on his github (I believe the latest version needs a gui building for it, he was in the process of developing a j-script web interface so that devs could create their own themes/layouts. It was looking very promising)

TrickDroid ROM 9.1.0
Bulletproof 4.3
TV remote
The TV remote of HTC was updated recently and gives newer features and doesn't require to select tv provider if not available.
It also has most of TV's and receivers I think.

And why does it need updated?
Thanks.
I do not have that app.
I'm on H/K BB ROM, and this update popped up in the Play Store along with FB and ES file explorer.
I did not install this app.
Yeah, I'm on the same ROM and searched Play Store. I don't see it. Did it get reinstalled by Google or HTC Backup possibly, from a different device?
I'm using the same ROM as well and that app is nowhere to be found.

EDIT: Checked my device and I don't have that app either, though
Just checked the play store for updates and I have an update for this same app.
I am running the latest Viper Rom

I'm still rocking Captain_Throwback's stock/rooted .8 ROM (been lazy to flash the H/K ROM/firmware) and I just noticed the play store updated this app as well. Doesn't show up in my app drawer.
Reading a review in Google Play and it says it's some test file for Google Wallet and some Sprint app that supposed to replace it? No idea what it is. Maybe something Sprint is pushing to our phones?
Also running Captains stock/rooted rom. I just notice the "Sprint Touch" app which I didn't download. I went to uninstall, but it just said it would revert back to the older version. Must have been on the phone already just hidden. Anyone know what it does or is for? I could uninstall it but it was on the phone before just hidden. Did the update get pushed via google play? I couldn't find it on the play store so just wondering how it got updated.
I received an update for this app last night also. It auto-updated, never noticed it before. Any confirmation on what it is? I am on Bad Boyz ROM also and have flashed the HK RUU
I saw that last night too.......not sure what it is.
Well, I take back what I said.
I do have it in the Play Store under My Apps and it's awaiting an update. I guess it just took a little while longer for my phone to see that it "requires an update". Very curious.
I saw it yesterday as well and avoided updating it, then it just disappeared from the "My apps" list on its own...

Yep, same thing I noticed. Completely disappeared on it's own.
Odd little fellow, this touch update. :cyclops:
I still have it in my app drawer. Weird.

Still on mine as well. Still don't know what it does. Thinking about uninstalling it.
It didn't pop up till I installed Google Wallet. I think that may have something to do with it.

I rooted my phone just to be able to delete bloatware from Sprint. I didn't install a custom ROM.
This was NOT shown in my apps that I am aware of and out of nowhere it popped up one day needing to update. I don't know what this app is either. I have Touch 0.9. It wanted to update, I panic'd and I froze it with Titanium Backup.
I have not tested Google Wallet yet, since not many places accept it, so I've no idea if my freezing messed with that. I have had Google Wallet setup almost for awhile now and this Touch thing just came out of nowhere long after I had Wallet.
If you go to the Play store and type touch you'll get responses for a million other things, so I've no idea how to find it if i wanted to.
I am completely stock/not rooted and this same update popped up about a week ago on my m8. ait auto updated and then went away, there's no trace of it in my app drawer or the play store.
I know I'm late but I called Sprint and they claim that this app doesn't exist. They also said to go to a store and have a tech check it out.
