hi to everyone,
I instaled to my SGS new room JVH from samfirmware.com and it works great except one very important thing.
Very often when somebody calls me, the screen dosn't wake up and I can't see who is calling
The same happened when I try to use the cell phone and push the home button, the screen also dosn't wake up and the screen always remain black.
sometimes after a few attempts it started to work well untill the next time...
I have already posted this problem on another forum but nobody helped me.

Try installing autokiller, set to optimum. Sounds like you are running out of ram/memory management.

Unfortunately it didn't help, still the same problem.

I only installed the firmware I9000XWJVH from samfirmware.com with release date May 4 and nothing more.

in my phone I found this information:

I suspect its known issue with external sd card.
If you have ex-sdcard inserted, try taking it out and see if the problem still present.

It seams you were right
After removing the external SD card and testing during the whole day the problem has never appeared again !
Do you know if the Samsung programmer are working to solve this bug ?

I don't know if Samsung will fix this issue or not,
but I think no..
In my opinion, since SGS has huge internal storage, many people will use without sd card..?? Also not many people actually reported that issue even if it is present.
just my opinion..
its problem with sgs, just try not to use ex-sd..
and also it affect the device overall function,
I just read from somewhere that it decreased quadrant score by 100~200.( although it can be merely numbers, but thats strange)
I've facing this problem as well...
but mine is not related with the ext-sd card problem because im not using it...

I just had the problem this morning, had to hold power button for 10 seconds to reset. Stock JVH.
AFAIK, the phone was still running but wouldn't turn on as the battery usage showed the battery discharging overnight.
Did any other else facing this problem as well?
because i face again with stock JVO + CF root for JVO.
Yeah I have this problem occasionally, hitting the power button sometimes doesn't wake up the phone, I have to hit the home button or the power button several times I think, cannot remember exactly, but I always manage to bring it up. It's annoying I agree.
I can always bring my phone back by hitting the power button around 10 sec, the boot up screen will occur if it success...
but this is really annoying, and totally a big problem, just wonder is there other else facing the same problem like us or only few users facing it?
Is the GB problem? because i nvr facing this kind of **** when using 2.2.1...
hi i also upgraded my phone from 2.2.1 to 2.3.2 gb i am also facing the same problem. can any body help in rolling back to original oem foryo 2.2.1?

Use stock lock screen has helped me. Probably reducing number of widgets, therefore ram use will help too.
SetCPU app with a minimum of 200 or more Mhz might also help??
i was facing the same problem since i started to use JVH and JVO with Cf-root.. i was using froyo JS8 with speedmod kernel because of the problems coming with JVB so far but when JVH was out i decided to flash it.. first i was using it with Cf-root.. after a long reading time i decided between CF-root and fugumod.. i have chosen fugumod and never experienced not-waking up issue..
but then i switched to JVO and realised its not good with fugumod, i came back to Cf-root and had those "eternal sleeps" 2 or 3 times.. but yesterday i made a whole clean flash of JVO and Cf-root.. so far, no problem..
i red people complaining about the same issue with Cf-root under the fugumod topic.. but i dont know if Cf-root is to blame.. it might be JVO and JVH to blame because fugumod is JVB based, so its normal that i didnt have any not-waking up problems..
PS: i dont think its because the memory is not enough.. because i never use any task killer (not even the task manager itself) but only watchdog for android OS and my RAM usage is normally like 225/329 Mb..

I have a persistent problem with my camera with the MiniCM7-2.1.8: it simply doesn't work.
When I start the camera, the interface comes in, but where you are supposed to the picture, everything is just black. Then the the camera app force closes. The camera worked a while with MiniCM7-2.1.6, then the problem appeared suddenly and nothing seems to solve it (full wipe with MiniCM7-2.1.6, MiniCM7-2.1.7 and MiniCM7-2.1.8., several times)
The camera doesn't work with third party camera apps either
I don't want to change this rom, for this is by far the most outstanding in my opinion, but it would be great to have a camera.
Any suggestions are welcome, thanks!

Mine camera working fine! which version of Kernel and MiniCM7 are you using? aNa kernel+ROM?

Now I am using nAa 10, but I had the same problem with 8b an 9 as well. I am kind of out of ideas what might have caused this - as I said, I tried several fresh installs and full wipes.

TRY THIS
i had some probs with minicm too so i tried this tonight and now itz working ok
backup ur apps and settings and data( i suppose u have as u have changed many roms)
flash stock 2.1
root it
install xrecovery
flash nAa 10 kernel
full wipe
flash minicm7 2.1.8
try if this works and get back to me

Auto rotation is not working properly on my galaxy s...some times it doesn't even work...I tested it on both ICS and Gingerbread...Really it is hurting me...plss help me to solve this problem...

If its any help, my auto rotation was pretty buggered as well. It would work on gingerbread but only if you help the phone more vertical than you really needed to. ICS wouldnt work at all.
Mine also wouldn't work properly in google sky maps and similar apps, if you panned left and right, it would also twist the view a bit, difficult to explain but see if sky maps works as expected. Also compass wouldnt work properlly, only worked with phone flat, soon as you tilt it would start to change direction when should be pointing same way.
I went back to various stock roms, different modems, loads of stuff, reflashing boot loaders, unrooting everything and couldnt fix it.
was a hardware fault, no other reason i could see why it wouldnt work, and just got phone replaced under warranty. all good now.
what ROM you use or you are in stock ROM? go to settings/about telephone and write what you see in there

there is no calibration in settings.....what to do now?
I have a similar problem.
Autorotation of apps works ok on Ginger (2.3.5, 2.3.6), but on any ICS that I have tested doesn't work.
ICS has no horizontal calibration, so do not know what else to do.
Any hint?

Happened to me also. Tried hard reset, didn't help.
Then, I changed phone language to English (United States), and, camera is working again.

Camera didn't work also on my AtivS when I tried the multiple click, i soft reseted and now everything works properly.

Hey guys, I have an ativ s also and want to use windows phone 8.1. Is it slower or faster is there any lag, apart from camera any other issue, how is the battery life? This are all the info restraining me from trying it. Does anyone know when there'll be official WP8.1 for Ativ S. Thanks
I've tried every single marshmallow rom, and they all have the same issue. The front camera doesn't work at all in any app. Sometimes, it'll work for the first time I open the camera app, but itll stop working afterwards. Even in third party apps. It works perfectly on lollipop and KitKat. I also tried different kernels, noting helped. Please help, I'd really love to upgrade to marshmallow.

Sorry, i haven't found a solution yet. I'll let you know if i do. Currently, I'm running AOSP 5.1.1 with layers.
