[Q] Handset Freeze - Connectivity Issue - Remove Battery - HD7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've had my handset for several months without issue, but recently it has developed a fault that requires near constant restarts.
-Power button will not work, battery needs to be removed to restart.
-Data connection hangs/fails
-Tiles that require a data connection do not load but instead return to home screen.
-Texts and emails are viewable but anything sent/deleted is not actioned and back to normal after reboot.
It's seems to always happen when the handset is plugged in to charge. What actions does the phone do when charging, does it connect to WiFi continually instead of just when you use it (battery saver mode)...
HTC HD7
7.8 Mango
Original network 02 (unlocked)
New network EE (Orange)
WiFi - UK Virgin Media
I'm convinced its something to do with my WiFi connection to the router:
Virgin Super Hub 1
Software Version "V2.38.01"
Hardware Version 2.00
Anyone else experiencing same/similar issues?
Can anyone help by providing the easiest way to get a reboot tile on my device?

some issues noted with phone

not sure if anyone else has had the same issues, but i've been getting the following on my unlocked lg which is currently being used on vodafone uk.
Bluetooth - randomly disconnects and reconnects (not sure if phone is actually rebooting) to my via live 120 - has anyone else come across this - usually happens after about 15 minutes
internet access - will not always access the internet when on 3G/E even though good signal - have to reboot phone for it to work - it's worse when you switch from using wi-fi to 3g
I've had the power problems like others which i've updated relevant post, but was wondering if others had issues like above.

LG Optimus 2X P990 - Service Problem

Hello,
Since a couple of weeks I've been having some issues with my beloved phone: the LG Optimus 2X Speed (P990) running the latest and greatest Cyanogenmod 7. And I was hoping that you could help me with that.
The Problem
My phone, and my previous phones have always had great service reception. I would never find my phone with two bars or less, unless it was brain-dead out of juice. I've always had the same provider (T-Mobile NL) and I've never experienced any problems with them.
However, in the last couple of weeks my phone can't find my network more often and often. I'd check my phone to see why I haven't gotten text-ed in the last minute or so, and it would be offline. Zero bars and status "No Service". At the beginning, I could put Airplane mode on, and then off again and it would reconnect. But since a couple of days that won't work either. I can put the telephone into airplane modus, but it gets stuck in it.
The button remains gray saying "Disabling Connections". If you go back, and into the Connection settings again the button can be pressed but indefinitely keeps the phone in airplane mode. The only way to enable connections again is to completely restart the phone. And as of lately I find myself having to reboot the device about 1-4 times a day.
Could you help me with this?

Obviously CM7 went a little crazy! I don`t think it`s hardvare problem and the most safe and secure thing u can do is to go back to stock rom and root and reflash CM7 again!!! Android is weird system and many weird things happen to many people. If u have few hours to spare u should begin there and see what happens. If that doesn`t solve your problem than u can start thinking about hardware failure (maybe SIM card, maybe phone antena). But i`m allmost positive it`s software isue. :good:
Disable the automatic date and time (network-provided one). See if that helps.
That was preventing my P990 from getting network at all after a cold boot.
Hi,
I have exactly the same problem. Disabling network-provided time helped (i.e. the phone connects to the network and data connection is up), but I was wondering if this is a bug and if there's a thread or a resource discussing this issue? Btw, the phone has been having some minor connectivity issues in CM 7.1 as well, but otherwise CM7 is useable.
Phone: LG-P990 (Optimus 2X), "Made in Korea" under the battery, does that mean for sure it's the SU660 flavour?
Carrier: Fido (Rogers Wireless), Canada
ROM: CM 10.1-20130722-UNOFFICIAL-p990 (tonyp build version 5) (Wiped and flashed on 2013.08.27)
Kernel: 2.6.39.4-kowalski-exp
Basebands tried: (none get me data connectivity)
LGP990hNAT-00-V25h-FID-CA-FEB-22-2012+0 (Original)
725 V10d (shows as Unknown in About Phone)
450 V20m SU660 (EDGE only)
OK, Correction...
Only the Wi-Fi connection was up. The cellular connection indicator was blue, which has led me to believe that cellular data connection was up as well. When Wi-Fi is disabled, the cellular connection indicator goes white and there's no data connectivity.
Furthermore, even though basic cellular connectivity was available for approx. 8 hours during the night, as soon as I left home and started moving it started dropping out. For example, I was only connected ~30% of the time for the past hour (and the reception along my usual route is normally great).
Toggling network-provided time doesn't seem to have an effect now, but the old tricks (toggling cellular connection, going into Airplane Mode, rebooting phone) seem to restore cellular connection for a brief period.
I also noticed that often when I would launch a data-using application (Internet browser, gmail app) cellular connectivity would be lost in a minute or so (saying No Service).
I've tried looking into "logcat -b radio" for ideas, but I don't quite understand what's happening here (willing to learn though).
Help...
I have installed CM7.2 (official CM) and CM10.1 (tonyp 5, oldbl) with dual boot and can now switch between the two ROMs. I have good cellular and data connectivity in CM7.2, but no data connectivity even after a fresh install of CM10.1.
I assume the baseband has nothing to do with this since both ROMs are using the same.
So, armed with a dual boot device, the n00b is ready to do troubleshooting! It only needs guidance now... Help?

[Problem] WiFi periodically hangs and signal strength drops

Hi, all, I'm having an issue with Wifi connectivity that presents itself mostly in Play Store and sometimes during browsing with stock browser.
Quite often when trying to install something from the Store, the moment i hit Install button, screen pauses for a few seconds, wifi strength indicator drops one bar and there's a notification that the connection was lost. Stock browser also loses conection and requires reloading, latest Opera does not (at least, I didn't experience it). This happens very frequently and multiple times in a row, especially installing from PS where I have to wait for the notification to show up, then hit back button and try to install again, sometimes several times before it succeeds. Also, I've downloaded Firefox, same problems as with stock browser.
I'm on official V20a 4.1.2, Play Store is v4.1.10, fewer than 15 apps installed and not all require data connection. Option to keep wifi connection active when screen goes off is enabled. I have an 802.11g router about 1 meter (3 ft) from the phone and the signal registers as strong (full 56 mbps). Abolutely nothing and no-one else is utilizing the connection at times. My other desktop PC via ethernet cable and my other wifi phone have none of these problems and the line was tested several times.
Even though I did spend few days with official V10 ICS 4.0.3, I don't recall having any of these problems.
Also, wifi indicator in the notification area dissappears after a period of innactivity, but power toggles show the wifi is turned on. Is this normal (this is my first long-term android phone, I'm not that familiar with the OS)?
Is there a solution that doesn't require downgrading to ICS or custom ROMs?
A side-quiestion: how to update play store part from downloadig .apk from some webpage? Is there an autoupdate option somewhere?
After some tinkering with router options, I no longer seem to experience the described problems. I believe that lowering the DTIM value resolved the issues.

[Q] While in Europe: Moto X won't reconnect to cell data, post-WiFi use

Hey guys/gals -
I got my Moto-X a few weeks ago, and have been using it without issue on AT&T. Unfortunately, I'm just wrapping up my first trip through Europe with this phone (left my iPhone 5 at home), and I've noticed a very odd thing over the last week.
For some reason, my phone will not re-establish a cellular data connection once it has connected to WiFi (and subsequently disconnected from WiFi). I have noticed this - consistently - in both Germany and Italy. In all cases, once WiFi is no longer connected, I can see that the cellular data network is available (the 4G or E logo shows up, grayed out, next to the cell bars) but it will not reestablish. The only way to obtain a cellular data connection is to restart the phone.
I've tried going into airplane mode; I've tried cycling cellular data. Nothing I can think to try causes the cellular network icon ("4G" or "E") to cycle from gray to white...I simply cannot get back online without a full restart. But once I've restarted it works fine - so long as I don't jump on WiFi.
The phone isn't unlocked; it's an AT&T device, with no APN tweaks.
Anyone have any idea what could cause this behavior? Unfortunately, it's going to be another four or five weeks before I'm back here to test any ideas...but I figured I'd reach out while the issue is fresh.
Cheers.
Just to chime in, I've also seen this issue on mine, but it only happens with certain WiFi access points. After using the Cisco ones at work the problem occurs, but my Asus N66U doesn't seem to upset it.

Random mobile network dissconnect when using GPS navigation?

K20 pro, MIUI 12.5.5, stock china ROM not rooted
I am getting random mobile network dissconnects on both sim cards sometimes few times a day and sometimes only once a week or so. It happens only while navigating.
If I kill the navigation app (Waze or Google Maps), the network comes back in few minutes.
If I leave it on - I am stuck on "Searching for Network" and cannot even search for newtorks manualy...
If I reboot the phone - all comes back fine and I am able to continue navigation - no problems.
Searching the net found somewhat similiar issue with OnePlus - users there complaining they are geting network/s disconnect immidiatly when using any GPS app with Work Profile enabled.
So far I did:
Swap slots
Got new SIM cards (from the same provider)
Reset APN settings
Removed dual apps (they are creating Work Profile)
Delete/Re-install Waze
Tried ON/OFF Google Location Accuracy and Emergeny Location Service
Nothing seemes to help.
I am realy not very keen on Network Reset or Phone Reset at this point...
Any ideas please?
Updates:
Network Reset - didn't help
Flashing Official Global ROM 12.5.2 - didn't help
I am now thinking it is maybe a hardware problem... but it is still strange that immediately after restart, it will work fine for at least few hours (even few days sometimes).
Also still cannot figure how GPS receiver can cause network disconnect (Google also knows almost nothing of such cases).
