Hi,
I need help because after 20 hours of trying i gave up.
I've tried like 8 guides of how to update the rom and it always failed.
I tried 10+ rom versions and put them on sd card and it fails with "status 7" or just "aborted" with no reason.
i'm using cwm 6.0.3.0, and when i try to update it using odin it also fail.
also when i try to load the original stock rom for my country it fails with no reason just "aborted".
I also tried fastboot in download mode but it wont recognize my device even with correct drivers.
now the worst problem is that when i restore it to the previews backup it works but the device is unusable, stuck after one minute.
I'm really frustrated and i hop to get some help here.
Thanks
Download KitKat ROM, PA Gapps and most recent SuperSU v1.94 http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu
+++ the 1&Only guide +++
- Download Raw kernel r4 r3p2 test > http://ge.tt/m/4wso5Hx
- Flash Raw kernel in your old recovery
- Go to advanced > choose reboot recovery! (Not System)
- Now in Raw kernel recovery CWM 6.0.4.4, you can
--- Flash KitKat ROM
--- Flash PA Gapps (full modular recommended)
--- Flash SuperSU
- Wipe data / factory reset
- Reboot
> You're on KitKat.
Status 7 > you need a recovery which is full SELinux compatible.

Should i do it within bootloader or odin?
***
tried to flash raw within recovery mode and got:
"E:Can't open /sdcard/raw_kernel_r3p2_test.zip
(bad)
Installation aborted."
From which recovery are you flashing right now?
Screenshot of about phone information, please?
Are you on stock recovery 3e right now.
Some more details of your exact setup, please.
Or bad download of raw kernel. Can you open the zip file?
Ok solved it,
Thanks man!

I solved my last problem by copying the files to the sd card again.
i'm using "omni-4.4.2-20140328-n7000-NIGHTLY" rom right now
Got stuck trying to update to kitkat (me too)
Dear Experts,
I believe my case is very similar to that starting this thread so I thought I'd just continue (hopefully not violating rules).
My Android was ICS stock version and my wish was to upgrade to KitKat.
(I did not make any backup.)
I followed these steps:
I rooted my system and installed PhilZ Touch 3 CWM Base version 6.0.2.7.
Then I proceeded to the upgrade following this guide:
"Update Galaxy Note N7000 to Android 4.4.2 KitKat Lightning ROM"
[sorry, am not allowed yet to insert ext links]
Step 10 resulted for me in:
Installing update...
set_metadata_recursive: some changes failed
E:Error in /sdcard/N7000-STABLEv1.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted
I retried step 10 using SlimKat - N7000 but with the same (Status 7) result.
This CWM seems ready further actions although it keeps looping even upon switch-offs (needed to remove battery to switch off effectively).
I hope all details have been given.
Please do advise me about further steps.
Thank you,
R.

Thank you Nic2215 and hello every helping soul!
I downloaded the latest file, MD5 checked OK.
Was not sure to be able to boot into recovery but kept the three buttons pressed while inserting the battery (current way to switch on) but I believe I succeeded in that.
Later I just chose boot into ecovery from within CWM menu.
Anyway it's been no success for me:
E:Error in /sdcard/philz_touch_6.25.0-n7000.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted
BTW I noticed one detail - in the About section of CWM it reads among other lines:
Build version: 3.99 - i9100
I am quite sure I'd followed all rooting steps correctly:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2217840
and picked a zip file compatible with N7000 and my kernel XXLRI:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1901191

Anybody able to help?

You must have CWM 6.0.<b>4.4</b> or higher, which is fully SELinux compatible for KitKat.<br />
Just flash Raw kernel r4, reboot in recovery (of raw kernel ) and then do your flash and wipes.<br />
You can't simply install a newer recovery on our device, as kernel and recovery are bound together, but ...THIS IS BASIC KNOWLEDGE FOR OUR DEVICE!!! <br />
#fail²<br/>
I appreciate your help.
Following your advice I found this resource:
-> [KERNEL][AOSP][10 Dec.] Raw Kernel r5 -- simple&fast kernel -- some KitKat love
but I can see:
Download :
r5 for KK4.4 (announce)
r4 for JB4.3 (announce)
Just would like to make sure that r4 - not r5 - fits my needs towards KitKat.
Suppose r4, then please assure me that my plan is correct:
1. Download raw_kernel_r4_j43.zip
2. On N7000 VolUp+Home+Pwr -> Install Zip -> Choose zip from sdcard -> raw_kernel_r4_j43.zip
3. Advanced -> Reboot Recovery
4. -> Install Zip -> Choose zip from sdcard -> N7000-STABLEv1.zip (Lightning Rom Android 4.4.2 ROM )
Please excuse my basic questions - I just realize I may not allow myself further mistakes. Certainly did not mean to offend or irritate anybody here.

You may download either r4 or r5,r4 is cwm and r5is twrp. I would suggest to go with r4 and then flash r4 first, reboot recovery, do the wipes and then flash rom with gapps (or without) and superSU.

Unless the ROM you are installing is specifically telling you to "mount everything", do not do it. Try it again, but this time do not mount anything manually, installing from Zip should do it automatically. If it still doesn't work, make sure the ROM you are trying to install is supposed to be installed from Recovery, some do also provide files for flashing through Odin/Heimdall
EDIT: I do recommend flashing CM9 first, get the newest nightly from here: http://get.cm/?device=galaxysmtd and google apps (if you want them) from here: http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip which is the recommended one for usage with CM9 ICS.

Hi There,
Maybe you should have posted this into the forum of the Rom.
But to install it - once you have copied the Zip file to your device - you select 'Install from Zip' from the main menu of the recovery - select the Zip file and wait while it installs - reboot - Done!
Cheers

So far I managed to install the advanced stock kernel and get root on my device (using fastboot.exe and BusyBox). So after that I enter recovery mode using Quick Boot. Then I have to do factory reset as found in preferences on my device. So far I think I got it.
But after that I have to wipe my data, system and cache. How do I do that and go on with the steps upcoming? After doing that I normally have to configure the device again for letting me use Recovery Manager and stuff like that, or don't I? So how should I do the full wipe?
Thank you for your suggestions so far!

the next step you should do is to flash the CWM..
follow guide in this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2167381
afterward you can do full wipe from the CWM and proceed to use CWM install zip function to flash the new aur rom.

I tried both ways, copying the zip file to root of the device itself and onto sd card (RomAur V1.1 XZ C6603.zip, FAT32 formatted 16 gb sd card). But Recovery Manager doesn't show any of these files when I chose to install from sd card.

ok, I'll do that again. I tried this yesterday already and so I do have a few questions:
from the guide you sent me:
download the advanced stock kernel (contains recovery)
reboot device into fastboot mode
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
now flash the recovery using
Code:
fastboot flash boot kernel.img
[where kernel.img is the name of the file image u downloaded]
thats it!
As I use "adb reboot bootloader" it keeps telling me "error: device not found", even though its connected to PC using fastboot mode and "fastboot devices" shows my Xperia Z as connected in fastboot mode. What do I do wrong?
Second question: Is the advanced stock kernel with recovery the one I already installed? Z_DooMLoRD_insecure_FW-350.img? Or Z_DooMLoRD_CF-Auto-Root-ported_FW-350.img? So which kernel do I use in the last step?
I finished it and I just made some stupid mistake in my procedure (I was alredy wondering how Xperia Z can be so hard to put a new rom into..). I'll write a How-To for newbies the until monday. Thanks for your help so far!
How to install RomAur (and other ROMS) on Sony Xperia Z
This is how I managed to install RomAur at my Xperia Z. After realizing my mistake I noticed it's not much different to other android devices.
1. So first to install kernels and get root I unlocked the boot loader using this really good descriptions:
http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/
http://www.techethon.com/root-sony-xperia-z-tutorial-easy-how-to/
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2153261
2. Then I started the device in fastboot mode by pressing volume + while connecting to PC and used fastboot.exe (shift+right click in the containing folder to start cmd) typing in this:
fastboot flash boot Z_DooMLoRD_AdvStkKernel_FW-350_v2.img
IMPORTANT Z_DooMLoRD_AdvStkKernel_FW-350_v2.img was contained in the same folder as fastboot.exe. Maybe there is already another new kernel to do this with, this one worked for me. Starting the device in fastboot mode can also be achieved by usind this command before flashing with the new kernel: adb reboot bootloader
3. Anyway after flashing I typed in this: fastboot reboot
4. Then I've put the zip file onto my micro sd (fat32 formatted, 16gb) and restarted the device disconnected from PC. This is what I've done wrong :silly:
While the device went on I pressed volume + when the SONY screen showed up and the led started to flash in several colors.
5. Now in the menu wiped/cleared/formatted everythin except the external sd-card and installed the "update" by using volume buttons to navigate and power button to confirm.
This is what worked for me. I might have forgotten some stuff so in case there might be something to add, just reply on this!

You can do several things:
If your adb is working, i think you can push latest cwm to recovery partition. Find dexters topic on how to do it, but instead of 6.0.2.8, download latest from cwm website and push it.
Alternatively, download zaiben rom, put it on sdcard ext and flash it, then use rom manager etc.
Another thing you can do is search for topic "fixed cm flashable", and flash that cm, then update to latest.
There is one more way, you can edit cm's zip and delete lines checking for device id.
Good luck

Ok, I see many of you have tried installing CM11 but with "Status 7" on the installing process
See this thread how to install CM11 http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-ace/s5830i-develop/rom-cyanogenmod-11-0-androidarmv6-t2805309
But I've figured out that many of you have not completely understand this process..
First let's install the Clockwork mod Recovery onto our phones:
1.Download this zip onto your SD card Click!
2.Boot into recovery (hold vol + vol- and power until the screen goes on)
3.In recovery select Apply update from SD card and select the Clowermod_Recovery_MTD.zip file and it will install it
4.Select Reboot system now in your stock recovery, or if you have temporary CWM recovery select advanced and Reboot Recovery...
5.Install the CM11 zip from your SD card through the CWM recovery
Second way for installing the CM11 without the bugs and that you can run your phone with SIM card and some bugs fixed also:
1.Follow this thread Click!
2.Go into Odin and put this file in your phone place without PDA and CSC Click!
3.Hit start and boot into stock ROM with that modem
4.Follow the above instructions
And that it is you phone is now running 4.4.4 Kit Kat
Addon:
If you have any trouble during the process (if you didn't go through the explanation very well, if you did there wont be any problems) do this process from this thread

Windows 7 is the most recommended OS to do almost all work without any problem, So I recommend you to activate your existing OS being purchased its license code from ODosta Store
Which is distributing license for almost all types of Microsoft Products with good customer support. I personally use it and have a good experience.
You can upgrade your windows 7 or windows 8.1 pro to windows 10, But you can face some technical issues, So I recommend you to have clean installation of Windows 7, windows 8 or Windows 10 and activate it using legal license.

wtf ure talking about?
afaik there is no PhilZ on T110 which has the boot loop fixed.
Also the T110 does usually not reboot upon Wifi switch-on. That seems to be a individual problem with ure very T110.
