Hey there
On friday I've updated my Xperia V from 9.2.A.0.295 to 9.2.A.1.199. It worked like a charm, but since sunday night I can't connect to the internet. I tried to switch back to .295 but it didn't worked. Also tried to reset the APN settings.
When I try to ping Google it just says "IP addr not reachable". WiFi works fine, calls and messages too.
Any help?

need more information. most important: what does "tried to reset the apn settings"!?
most commonly the APN settings are empty after an update and you need to add them manually. if, for example, your provider is vodafone in germany you google "vodafone apn" and look up the right settings.
good luck and pls report back.
I do know about the APN settings
I've manually added them with the information from my ISP (3 AT, just in case), I've downloaded them on the phone via WiFi and I checked them with the settings from a friend of mine. Every time the same settings, so I think they're correct
EDIT: New problem: WiFi isn't working anymore... But the weird thing is: I can google something, for example I can google "xda" (screenshot 1) but I can't visit "xda-developers.com" (screenshot 2)
EDIT 2: Also tried to flash back to 9.1.A.1.140. WiFi is working sometimes, but same problem with mobile internet!
EDIT 3: I googled about my problem and the baseband version seems not to be the problem. At first, it worked with every version, but now it doesn't work with anyone.
9.1.A.1.140 3003032-47
9.2.A.0.295 301050-59
9.2.A.1.199 301050-60

Well recently i bought a LG Optimus Black, at the begining internet and all worked just fine, and now suddenly i cant connect to internet.
I am able to connect to a wifi network, but 3g wont work, how can i fix this?
Every opptions are right.
I tried the same sim card in Samsung GalaxyS2 and some other phone, it works fine. So it has nothing to do with the SIM.
try to configure your 3g network, look for it on the internet.
i only had this problem when i install NOVA ROM, but it was easy to solve the problem.
I have tried but not helping.
Is it running on Stock ROM or NOVA?
Just like lucasmalaguti said, this problem happens only on custom ROMS.
Anyway, just check your settings.
Settings > Wireless & Network > Mobile Network > Access Point Names
Search on the internet or ask your provider for the setting configuration.
Also, if you have a few Access points, Eg. MobileInternet1 & MobileInternet2, make sure the right one is checked.
Download APN Backup & Restore app from market to delete and re-add Access Point.
Once edited/add, reboot phone for changes to take effect.
Check your APN settings
Sent from my LG-P970
I'm running a stock V10E ROM
My APN settings are OK (sent from my provider)
Tried to manually add it, but nothing helps
Today i called LG Service support.
They say that i am not the only one with this problem.
The problem seems to be caused by automatic software update (V10A => V10E).
Only solution is to reflash ROM.
So i did that and now everything works fine.
Thank you all for trying to help!
I have same problem, how do i re-flash to the old fw
Hi, I got same problem please tell me how can i re-flash my previos fw? thanks.
Hello! I'm newbie
I have the same problem. Please help! What is this ROM? How can I do this? Can this really fix my internet problem? thank you
Had same issue, thought it was the carrier but it could be the phone, hope this helps
1. turn off your OB and take the sim off
2. test the sim's 3g on some other phone
If it's working
3. put it back in your OB = problem solved
It it's not working
3. call your service provider

I have a similar issue.. but only when I use a Stock Rom..
When I use a CyanogenMod based rom I connect normally.
Any suggestion if there's an option, in build.prop maybe, so I can fix this in a stock rom?
hi, you use a rom from XDA? is it happen after flashing a new rom, first boot, no mobile internet? -> how about some informations about runnign system etc. pp. was it working before with same rom? and so on....
if no internet after first boot: turn on wifi, go Settings/Xperia/Internet Settings , and try download the settings with wifi. how that?
second thought: your provider's fault?
Xperia V is not officially supported by my carrier, but I can use mobile data on cyanogenmod.
I tried to add APN for my carrier, but they don't appear, using APN Manager I could see and try to apply them, only to get an error.
I was willing to go back to stock rom 'cause I wanted to use sony's camera.. but mobile data is essential.. guess I'll to stick with cyanogenmod..
i have added my provider (three uk) network apn manually and it worked.. yesterday.. Now still I cant connect. No reaction at all. I've downloaded settings via wifi and didnt help. Im running official rom 9.1.A.1.141. It is not a provider fault - I used o2 before and it was the same problem. Sometimes restart helps. but not now,
edit. now restart helped.. i dont get it.. This is very enoying
Anyone have any ideia how to fix this issue?
In CM all APN are shown correctly, in any stock based rom I can't add any entries, or it's not shown.
Hello All,
I am afraid this not is going to be a short and easy story... I will try to be short
After the Stock update to 4.4.2 i got finally fed up with the fact that the long awaited KitKat drains battery like a power addict and decided to go back to stock 4.2.2 - which, for me, solves two problems - in this version the Bluetooth connectivity in my car works properly and the battery is used more 'soberly' as well as that I can easily root it and clear all the bloatware.
I found several stock versions of 4.2.2 - e.g. C6603_10.3.1.A.0.244_Generic NCB.ftf, C6603_10.3.1.A.0.244_CE.ftf, C6603_10.3.1.A.2.67_CE.ftf
After flashing them with the latest flashtool everything seems fine - battery, bluetooth, wifi etc. BUT the mobile data has the following problem: the phone connects to 4G, 3G and GPRS, but apart from Youtube none of the applications is able to use the Internet connection from the mobile operator. This to me seems like a problem with DNS resolution but I do not have any firewalls etc. installed or activated.
It may be worth mentioning that when Chrome tries to connect to a web address (e.g. xyz) for an instant there is a message on the screen "Redirecting you to xyz web address", maybe this is the place where it goes wrong? Needles to say that the connection to the specified website is not possible because "Chrome could not find the xyz page"... (this does not happen on wifi connection).
I would be very grateful if U could suggest a way out !
Have you tried downloading the Internet setting ?
at setting -> xperia -> Internet setting.

Hi,
I reloaded the Internet settings from my operator several times, also changed to another sim. What is really puzzling is that Youtube has no problem with connecting. There is something funny going on with the DNS service I suppose....
Any thoughts ?
Thx

Hello - thanks for this attempt, but unfortunately no luck with it. Here is what I did (please check if I understood you correclty):
1) downloaded - C6603_10.4.1.B.0.101_CE.ftf (4.3)
2) flashed 4.3.(above) with Flashtool (wiping all)
3) restarted - mobile data could be accessed by Chrome and other apps
4) flashed 4.2.2 ver 10.3.1.A.0.244 and then 10.3.1.A.2.67 with the data wipe disabled,
Result - again in 4.2.2 the mobile data is not available to apps other than Youtube ...
Any more thoughts on this?
Thanks again !

OK - So I see where we have a misunderstanding ... I wanted to go back to 4.2.2. which worked fine for me for the small exception of the mobile data transmission but not go up to 4.4.2.
I am looking for a solution to make the 4.2.2. work with data transmission.
Could you give this a thought ? I would appreciate it a lot!
Regards!

I gave 4.4.2 solution because the data issue is sufficing in 4.2.2 repeatedly
and from what i had read the only issue you had with 4.4.2 was battery drain so gave you a solution for 4.4.2 :silly:

Your help is very much appreciated!
The reason I keep trying with 4.2.2 is that I am also struggling with the bluetooth issue: on anything above 4.2.2. - simply does not connect to my car's buletooth handsfree....
Thanks anyway. I need to decide whether I have the bluetooth and no mobile data or mobile data and no bluetooth, Seems like Sony is not too generous ...

Yes:
4.3 - mobile data is ok, bluetooth not compatible with my car ... :crying:
When I tried to flash 4.2.2. over 4.3 without wiping data I got bootloped...
Thanks for trying to help !
Do you think that there is a way to use the bluetooth functionality from 4.2.2 on 4.3? How could it be done?

Maybe you can try flashing the 4.2.2 via flashtool (wipe everything) to solve this problem, please give it try.
Actually, 4.3 works without bugs so far and have no thoughts about what causes this problem.

Hello - thanks! I tried complete wipe/flash of 4.2.2 and that's where my problem is - 4.2.2 data transmission in mobile is lost whereas on 4.3 or above my bluetooth does not communicate with my car's handsfree (this issue is being reported by many users after upgrade to 4.3.)
So I am stuck ... for the moment I am staying on 4.3 and getting really tired of this whole Xperia stuff

Hello barbacan! I've got exactly the same situation here. I was on 4.2.2 becouse it was latest firmware that worked with my car (Opel Insignia DVD800). A week ago I had motherboard failure, so I send my phone for a replacement. I received a brand new one with 4.4.2 installed which of course didn't communicate with my car. So I flashed exactly the same 4.2.2 file which I use with previous phone, but this time data transmission did not work. When I upgraded to 4.4.2 transmission was back again. I think Sony have changed something in newer phones hardware and they are not compatible with older firmwares. I've been serching for a few days, but couldn't find any solution...
Ok, I think I have found the solution. Changing APN settings from default IPv6 to IPv4 resolved the issue for me. Just change it in settings, save, reboot the phone and data transfer works again!

THANKS A LOT!
This is the solution.
I was suspecting something to do with DNS services but did not realize that Adroid 4.2.2. does not have IPV6 support. Now that I changed my APN from "InternetIPV6" to plain "Internet" the phone works like a charm. I will not be tempted to upgrade at any price

Hi. So, I just got a Samsung S3 GT-I9305 from Vodacom. Got it from eBay. But, I'm having trouble connecting to the wifi. Whenever I connect to the wifi it always says "Authentication error occurred". I turned off the wifi thingy using *#0011# and wiped the cache, I even reset the phone to its factory settings. I sometimes connect to a wifi, but it takes 1 hour or so before being connected. And I have trouble downloading from the playstore. Did everything I could find from the web. No luck.
So, I was thinking, If I would flash a custom rom to my device, will it fix the wifi issue? And would any stock firmware of the I9305 device work?
Thanks! Sorry for being noob.

Hi,
I think it could be a router issue. You should :
- reset your router and retry to connect with your i9305,
- play with WIFI network settings in router. Maybe something doesn't allow your i9305 connection (network type, firewall, etc.). I'm not an expert in router settings, so you could google this to help you.
- try another WIFI network (from a friend, at work, anywhere you can test )
I think that flashing a custom ROM won't change anything. First try to fix your problem with stock firmware.
My note 5 is the duos version, imported in Romania from Taiwan (SM_9208) After updating to Marshmallow yesterday, everything worked fine except for on thing: it doesn't find my Wi-Fi network from home anymore and the only way I can connect to it is by going to,, add network " and manually inserting the ssid and PASSWORD because it doesn't appear on the available networks list. Thst means that every time I turn my wireless off and then on, I have to repeat that process.
I haven't had the chance to try any other WiFi network, but I tried with other phones to connect to the network and they found it and connected to it without any problem. Furthermore, any third party app like WiFi analyser is able to see the network.
Do you guys have any idea how I could possibly solve this?
Thank you and have a wonderful day!
Try to backup your phone and then do a factory reset.
I factory reset after update OTA and everything work perfect.
uhm... does n9208 has update for MM already? if you have links kindly share tnx in advance
I tried doing the factory reset and it still has that problem.
And I did receive the update yesterday through OTA.
Other suggestions? Thank you, guys!

First, try clearing the cache again. If it still does not work, the update may have downloaded improperly so some file are corrupted. It will continue to use the same corrupted files even if you reset. Have your tried flashing the stock Taiwan Rom using Odin?
//LATER EDIT: I finally made it work by simply changing the wireless network's name. For some reason, my phone wouldn't find the network with its default name.
