I brought a Sony xperia z today but the model is L36H which is suppose to be 6602 it's the China version.
My problem is that I can't get the US google play store and no GPS icon on here.
I tried downloading the google play US version but it never opens it just shuts off.
Anyone know how I can delete the china version of google play and install the US one?
If it comes down to it i guess I will have to look into getting it rooted.

I think that you will have to root. You can't delete for example the playstore apk to replace it for another one without root.
For GPS try...
Settings, accounts, Google, location services, switch on.
I could not get my GPS working no matter what I tried. Only this way worked. Good luck.

You are on a GLOBAL version then, your firmware isnt limited to your country even though we are hundreds or thousands of miles apart mine it the same as yours. so you dont really need to change your firmware to receive more

Does flashing firmwares void warranty? Also does it have any effect on lets say the emic or flash storage on the phone? And lastly, isn't that 14.1.G.534 a prototype/journalist firmware?

Hi I use the C6602 as well and i recently flashed mine. This might be asking too basic a question but did you go to "Xperia" under Settings and select the "Internet Services" option to reinstall it? I panicked at first when I realized my internet wasn't working but after I did this, it started working fine.

Don't worry about it. If you flash a different regions rom, your customisation number will change.
That has no functional effect on your phone whatsoever and it's not something that can be excluded from the flash as it's just a value in build.prop.

Don't be. The customisation number is part of the rom. Just don't concern yourself with it. As long as you flash a FTF for your specific model, then you'll be fine.

It is, but it doesn't matter. When you flash a different rom, the customisation number will change.
It's mainly used when checking for updates via the PCC or OTA, so you will receive updates for the current customisation version of your phone. As the OP has unlocked their bootloader, they cannot receive updates via those methods anyway.
