System volume - Sprint HTC One (M8)

Is there a setting somewhere that I have missed that can raise /lower the systemwide volume? I came from a gs3 and you could increase/decrease the volume of touch sounds and unlock/lock sounds. Thanks.

Ever since Sense 4, the system volume has been linked to the ringer volume. They have finally separated notifications & ringer volume in Sense 5 (and 6), but I assume that system volume is still linked.
Test: bring your volume to the max, and lock/unlock your phone. Then do it again with the phone on low, but not silent or vibrate.
And for the record, even roms with the different volumes separates didn't work. The system volume was still linked. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong about Sense 6.

I see. The ui sounds seem really muted to me

Even with the phone on max? Or are you not used to HTC's softer sounds? The un/lock sounds for Sense 5 got a LOT softer. You can barely hear the lock sound.

I'm not used to the softer sounds, the last htc phone I had was the lte, and I used those sounds in my roms for the gs3 and they were quite a bit louder.

Agreed, they were much louder. But that all changed with the new version of Sense.

Any way to lock the ringtone volume to one level?

I recently migrated from the iPhone 4S to the N3.
So far, I'm liking most of the features.
However, the one thing that does bother me is that the ringtone volume is directly tied to the media level.
Is there anyway to isolate the ringtone volume so that when I increase/decrease the system volume via the rocker, the ringtone volume remains constant? Starting in iOS 6, this was allowed on the iphone. Please don't tell me that this is something ONLY iPhone can do.
Thanks in advance.

When you press the volume up or down key, tap the settings key right next to the pop-up and it will show the other volume levels.

Not sure your software version, but my volume button controls only the ringer unless a game or some other form of media is running, then it controls that media but not the ringer. The only time I notice it affecting the ringer is if in the case of a game and I try to adjust before the game is fully loaded. If you watch you see a phone icon or a speaker on the slider. If you try to adjust for media too soon you will notice the slider is still showing the phone instead of the speaker for media.

[Q] Disable the Escalating Sound in Ringtone and in Call?

One of my gripes with the Nexus 6 is the fact that whenever my phone rings it does so in an escalating fashion. Rather than ringing at full volume like a normal device it goes from a low volume and slowly picks up to the loud volume. The same happens with Voice Calls as well on Speaker and it is very frustrating.
Is there anyway I can disable this? Perhaps a mod to disable this system so I can have regular full volume rather than escalating volume? I keep almost missing phone calls due to this, and voice calls have been redundantly frustrating.
I was wondering the same thing!
Hopeful that there will be a rom / kernel that will change this. IIRC, Seems like I remember a tweak on some of the Gnex ones that did it.
I use a app called "Disable Increasing Ring" on my Samsung Note 2.
Don't know if it is working for Nexus 6... (don't have one, but want one)
It's in the Play store
Willem
Headset to speaker phone
The volume also does the ascending thing from headset to speaker phone which I'm not really a fan of.
the app
Worked briefly on the Nexus 6 then stopped
Any new info on this going to try the app described above and see if it works for me.

Link Ringtone and Notification volumes?

Can we not do this like on every other phone I've ever had?
I use the app volume control. No issues at all.
When I use the volume rocker it seems to affect both ringtones and notifications. I think the volume settings are relative.
Here are volumes before adjustment, after backing out to home and turning up with volume rocker. . No sync.
Right, which is why I was saying perhaps they're relative. All I know for sure is, when I use the volume rocker, it affects both notification volume and ringer volume.

Which I'm saying I do NOT get that behavior. So, in order to change notification volume, I HAVE to go into settings>volumes and adjust it manually. Pretty damn lame.
I'd like to see something like this:
or
i want rom for alcatel one touch please help.me

Are you sure the actual volume (i.e. the decibels coming out of your speaker) doesn't change, regardless of what the sliders in the volume app say? I realize the sliders don't necessarily reflect what you might expect, but change the volume, have someone call you, then text, then change the volume again and test again. When I do that, both go up and down as you'd expect.
Just tested. Only the ringer/phone call volume went up. Text stayed very low in volume until I manually went into Settings>Sounds and changed the Notification volume.
I just tested specifically and have to rescind what I said. That's really strange, I could have sworn I'd been changing my text message volume and ringer.
I'd like to bump this up too. Anyone not update to the new Advanced calling firmware yet confirm if this is happening with them too? I am on the new update and just noticed this

I now have the update but can confirm the same behaviour before the update.
Still doing this on 4.4.4.12 - very annoying.
I only took the day one update, call and notification volumes are NOT linked.

Volume change tone gone in Marshmallow?

Previously, whenever you adjusted the volume, the phone would make a tone to tell you how loud that volume level was, i.e. increasingly louder tones if you were increasing the volume.
I've just noticed that when I change the volume bar, the phone is completely silent (and no, I'm not in Silent or Vibrate mode). Is this a new "feature" of 6.0 or something is wrong with my phone?

well, its not new, as it was in all 3 m releases. and now marshmallow is like that as well.
Thanks! I've never used any of the M Previews so it's good to know this is an expected behavior and not a bug with my device.

More Volume steps on samsung Stock Rom and Costum Kernel.

Hi,
I am looking for a way that allows me to hear the volume while listening to music through the volume buttons of fine rules. then I'm still looking for a way to normalize the volume in the streaming apps. At the end of the volume bar, it is sometimes that it is still quieter at the penultimate step, and at the last step it gets much louder. I would like to normalize this so that it goes from very soft to very loud, as it is also used to the sun.

Have you tried 'Sound Assistant', allows you to set different sound levels for individual apps. It's one of the components of 'Goodlock', but was also available as a 'standalone' app in the past.
From memory, it also allows you to change the number of volume steps, from soft to highest volume.
Now I just need something else that I can handle the system sound, and get the pure sound of tidal and spotify.
