I just got the Flex yesterday and so far I love it. I rooted it changed the dpi to 240 and am now running Nova launcher. I really really like the double tap to wake and double tap to sleep function, but I am unable to figure out how to set double tap to sleep on Nova launcher. I have tasker installed, but I am unable to figure out how to have a task turn of the display.

I don't think you can with any 3rd party launcher. I was using apex for a while and switched back because I couldn't use that feature.

Download an app from the play store called lock now, it locks the phone when it is launched. Then set the double tap gesture in nova launcher to launch that app and it will work the same way as it does with the stock launcher

I have Nova launcher and can double tap on and off

With no extra program or gesture
Even with nova launcher you can still double tap the status bar and it will turn the phone off.

i know this is wrong topic but has anyone has the same status bar as mine when you change the dpi to 240. the signals icon is blue instead of white and the battery icon is blue instead of green?
Just tested the double tap status bar with Apex and the Google Launcher. Works on both without any add on or separate app.

i am running Stock up including clock face but with NULL_18 as base for extra benefits.
how can i quickly see the battery status like what i see when i plug it in?
currently i have to go to Settings > Battery which is not quick and easy.
i had used the Watch Style app where you can get faces with battery but it seemed to use more battery and i like Stock look.
thanks for any suggestions.

When I double-tap, the status bar shows up. The problem is now when I load a full-screen app, the status bar is always there at the top. How do I go back to hiding the status bar at all times?

I use GMD gesture control to create a gesture to toggle the status bar on and off

Thanks, I'll check out GMD. In the meantime, is there a setting somewhere to revert back to the no-statusbar UI?

Are you looking for a setting to switch back to the original tw launcher or for use in the nova launcher? To set touch whizz as the default launcher just go to nova settings and it's the first option, select touch whizz, switch the screen of and use the twisting arm wake gesture to select home. If you're looking at changing the nova settings it might be an idea to reflash null and not check full ui in the aroma options. I'm not sure if that's what you're looking for though. It's a bit late here and I'm a bit frazzled

I'm in the TouchWiz launcher / shell, which is nice. No issue there. My problem is I two-finger tapped or double-tapped the screen to try gestures, and the status bar appeared at the top, showing the battery %, time, Bluetooth icon, etc. I now have no way to make this status bar disappear at the top. For example, I see it when I'm in Settings, or in the root browser, or any custom app.
It seems the two-finger tap toggled it on, but there is no way to toggle it off. Where is the setting to turn it off?

That's not the two finger toggle. The two finger toggle on stock or null without full system ui is a shortcut to brightness/volume and battery screen. Sounds like you've selected full system ui in the aroma settings. I can't see any options to switch off the status bar in apps. You can turn it off on the nova launcher with nova settings but that doesn't apply to apps. You can try flashing the Rom again and uncheck the full status ui and see if the status bar is still present in third party apps or you can download another third party app to control things like the status bar in apps. There's a list of third party apps you could use in the help sticky null_/free falling theme..... It's under notifications icons/soft buttons
y'know how we have Double Tap to Wake but not exactly to Sleep so here's a little workaround.
I personally set my launcher's Double Tap gesture to launch the Lock Screen app and it's been working around nicely.
other options would be widget/desktop shortcut/notification bar.
here it is, do check it out if you're as conscious about your buttons as mine hah.

I use Nova too. When I go into gestures and click under double tab... What action or app do I set it to to shut off the screen, I don't see a specific option to shut off the screen.

I found another great option on another forum. Install a free app from the play store called "Screen Off and Lock" and then set Nova Luncher "double tap" action to open this app which will shut your screen off and lock it.

yup you answered your own question haha. I use the same setup too, nova double tap.
alternatively you can set search to lock, since it's a more universal button (drag home upwards to the search icon)

Now that there's an easy way to root for LB I started using gravity box with double tap to sleep on the notification bar. It's weird though, to not have to use the power button anymore.

Physical buttons are so 2013
I use the exact same method just with Apex. Works like a charm. Although the doubletap on notification bar doesn't work, I think there is some conflict because it worked when I only had Gravity Box. When I press the notification bar it drops a couple of centimeters so I can't double tap it.

Yeah, between my last two phones I haven't had to use the power button to turn on/off screen. It's great!
I'm a fan of not having to use any of the physical buttons, this is why i liked using custom roms, on my other devices, that allowed this and also taking advantage of the gesture features with the launcher i use, Nova Launcher.
So for rom version 5.1.1 i like it the way it is, but it's just lacking the option to lock the screen without having to use the physical button. i've installed the app "Reboot Menu" and it has all the features i need but the Lock Screen option lacks for me, because when you use the feature, and wake the phone up again, the Reboot menu is still open. If it closed after the selection that would be great. If Nova Launcher had this feature within the gesture options..that would be even better! anyways, anyone with me on this? is there another app better than the Reboot Menu app?
there is an app called screen off in play store once u use it, it put the screen off
what i do is im using nova too and in setting the gestures i designated the double tab gesture to use this app
result ... double tapping the screen puts it off

thanks, yes i found something similar..i went with a very basic app called Lock Screen and, i too am using Nova Launcher. The experience just keeps getting better!
So I'm trying to create a gesture that would start from the bottom of the screen. I have navigation bars off and in dev settings, I've allowed apps to access the area where the nav keys would be, but everything I've tried with auto input, requires gesture mode to be turned on. I've tried another app called GMD gesture control, and it would start from the point where the nav keys would have been. Please help!

I'm not sure how you would go about fixing this problem within tasker. However there are a few custom launchers that support gestures. Check out these launchers and see if this is the type of solution you're looking for.

do you guys know if theres an alternative launcher that can handle doubble tap to sleep ?
Nova Launcher (prime) does it. IMO it's the best launcher.
True, but as far as I know Sony's launcher is the only one that handles smart lock well with the double tap to sleep function. E.g. in Nova you must unlock with a code after double tap, even if connected with a trusted device.
Edit: I just discovered that the newest Nova Launcher Beta version supports double tap to sleep well in combination with Smart Lock / device on bluetooth.

If you're rooted and use Xposed, this module and Nova will sort you out:

Forgot to mention, if you have any trouble, additionaly install and set this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.liberty.android.ptplugin.screenoff in Nova's Gestures and Inputs/Gestures/Double tap.
It's the only app that doesn't invoke PIN or pattern after unlocking your phone with double tap. Also, don't set up smart lock in Sony's Settings, just use the Xposed module for that.
i was wondering if theres any "lightweight" launcher that can do the job. Nova launcher is much to extensive in my opinion.
Xperia home is ok but i miss "hide applicaton" feature and also dont like the suggestions tab ...
