New rooted phone wheres CWM - Motorola Atrix HD

okay I have a new phone running cm10.1 and want to try something different. Im looking for someone to help me get into recovery is there something I should install or a button press when starting the phone? Thanks in a advance I just dont know what this guy installed it with so not sure what to do.

I figured it out... In the Settings app, choose the About Phone (or About Tablet) option.
Scroll down, and tap the Build number seven times. On the seventh tap, you will be notified that "You are now a developer."
Return back to the main Settings menu. The Developer options and Performance settings should now be visible. Go into developer options and enable recovery.

[Q] Install from untrusted sources on ICS

Hi everyone, I'm sorry if the question I have had already been asked before, I looked the forum thoroughly, couldn't find an answer. so I apologize for the repeat post.
I have the HTC Vivid (AT&T) about week or so ago I upgraded to Android 4.0.3(ICS) and since then I could no longer find the options that allow me to install app from untrusted sources. whenever I try to install an app on my SD card it would pop up saying "Install Blocked. For security. your phone i set to block installation of applications not obtained from Android Market." then I will have the option to cancel or go to settings, but when I go to settings it brings me under security menu and I do not see the option to check install from untrusted source. I know I had the option before when i was on Android 2.3.4, but I lost it after I did the upgrade. FYI I did not root or flash roms. the Android 2.3.4 i was on was stock came with the phone and 4.0.3 I downloaded and installed from HTC website. is this HTC's doing? or AT&T basically just screwed me?
thanks in advance for any type of suggestions.
Under security there is a device administration at the bottom of the screen when you first open the security settings options and it had a check box labeled unknown sources

Sim Card Lock
Set up SIM Card lock
Passwords
Make passwords vivible
Credential Storage
Trusted credentials
Install from storage
Clear credentials(Grayed out)
so it's safe to assume basically AT&T screwed me over

There have been a handful of other users who's option for this disappeared after doing the OTA. Running the RUU fixed them I do believe

You are missing the Device Administrators section between Passwords and Credential Storage. See screen shot in earlier post. I may have this because I had set my phone for unknown sources before the upgrade. So, the setting may have carried over from the earlier settings.

Probably where I'd start - it will wipe data FYI. When you upgraded, did you upgrade OTA or did you run the RUU?

I had the same issue when I did the update this afternoon. All I had to do to fix it was to activate your phone’s USB Debugging mode by going to Settings > Applications > Development then check the box next to the USB Debugging option.
Turn off your smartphone then boot to bootloader mode by pressing the Volume Down key while holding the Power button.
Then perform a factory reset.

I had the exact same symptoms and I finally figured out that if I disabled "Advanced Protection" in Lookout app, it un hid my Phone Administration options under security and I could then put a check mark in the tick box. Are you running any "security" oriented apps that might have done the same thing to you?
In security the option you are looking for is unknown sources.
Sent from my De-Sensed HTC Vivid using xda app-developers app
I've never used any other market to download apps, however that option has always been on my Vivid, even after the OTA upgrade to ICS. The Device administration, with the unchecked box, is right there in the security section.

Yeah, mine was similar. I had untrusted sources checked before the upgrade to ICS, now the option is gone. I can still use untrusted sources, though, so I am OK, at least for now.
I've just discovered as soon as I setup my work exchange account is when I lose the untrusted sources option. If I remove the account, it comes back. Here's the kicker - if unknown sources is checked before I setup the account, unknown sources are still allowed, even though the option is not there. If the box is not checked before setting up the account, I lose the option and the ability to install from unknown sources. Anyone else? Try..if you have an exchange account setup and have lost unknown sources, remove the account and see what happens

Brilliant! I verified this on mine by deleting my Exchange server account (hey, I'm not working there anyway...). Untrusted sources reappeared in my security settings. I then re-created the account and the untrusted sources disappeared.
It may have to do with the administrative things that are required for the Exchange account. I believe that is some sort of security setup for the server, but I suspect that is what hides the untrusted sources.
As you said, it hides it. If it was checked before, it still acts as though it was checked. If you remove the Exchange account, the option reappears and is checked. Therefore just hidden, not removed. That is good, because it means you can delete the account, check the untrusted sources, then recreate the account and everything works.
Oh, and by the way; I use Enhanced Email instead of the default Email app. In fact, I uninstalled the default Email app. Therefore, it is not the app causing the hiding, it is the security administration option that pops up after setting up the account.
Enhanced Email, by the way, handles Exchange accounts much better than the default Email, and is much easier to set things up. I got if free from Amazon on their App of the Day. Highly recommended.
Great find, thanks for that information!
I also use Enhanced Email. It is a very good alternative. I could never get settings to stick with the stock email and exchange.

No unknown sources available
Hi all,
I am new to this forum and I recently bought HTC Vivid unlocked phone from my friend. I noticed that I have the exact same problem where I am missing the unknown sources check box and unable to install any outside play store apps. I tried everything given here in this thread but nothing helped. I havent done running RUU again as I dont know what RUU is. Also I think my phone is not yet rooted. I have NQ Mobile Security app installed on my phone, & even after uninstalling this app nothing helped.
I've attached the screenshot of my phone Security Settings. I'd really appreciate if I can get help in this regard.
Thanks.

Hi,
Settings/About/Software Info/More/Then tap seven times on Build Number until you see "You are now a developer".
Then back to settings and you'll see the developer options to activate USB debugging...
Don't panic!

1. First make sure Developer Options is enabled on your device:
a. Go to 'Settings' head to 'Security' and check "Unknown Sources."
b. Next enable USB Debugging: Go to 'Settings' and scroll down until you access "About." Go to 'Software Information', and access "More". Rapidly tap on "Build number" until it tells you that you have enabled developer options. Now go back and Developer Options now appears above "About". Go in and check "USB debugging" and "OEM unlocking" (to allow bootloader to be unlocked).
2. Unlock your bootloader: this flashing procedure will wipe all the data on your device for security reasons - there's no way around that. It’s recommended that you backup what you want manually.
a. Access HTCDev which will provide the instructions to do so. Sign in first and select your device model [HTC Desire *]. First you will need to update to the latest Java, and download and install the latest Android SDK and latest HTC USB Driver v4.16.0.001. Next, download the following zip file 'adb' which is required for unlocking the bootloader of your device.
b. Power off phone, press and hold Volume Down and then press and hold Power; hold both buttons to start the device into Bootloader mode.
c. Connect the device to the computer via a USB cable
d. Now we must get the 'Identifier Token' for unlocking the bootloader.
Any custom roms for this phone ? Why can I find nothing further phone, twrp for 626s worked so even a custom rom for 626s would work I assume.. can anyone Please provide a custom Rom download for this. This is really stressing me out

Reactivation Lock Bypass (Samsung Account)

Hi everybody, I don't know if this will help all you but this is what worked for me (Android 6.0.1):
1. On the setup wizard (after factory wipe), connect to internet (wifi/data)
2. Select "Emergency call"
3. Call to any valid number (112 for example)
4. When the calls start swipe to the left on the dialing screen and you will see message and browser displayed (in my case the message method doesn't works).
5. Select browser.
6. Go to google.
7. Search for Package Disabler Pro 9.8
8. Download it and install it.
9. Open it and search for "Samsung account".
10. Click on Clear Data and then Disable.
11. Go back to google and search for QuickShortMaker
12. Install it and open it.
13. Search for "Setup Wizard", it will expand.
14. Select the one with ".setupwizards.SetupExitActivity"
15. Done! You can now use the phone and restart.
Ok after this you can go and check that there is no Samsung account displayed (Settings>Accounts), buuuuut, you can't add it . What I did was:
1. Go back to Package Disabler Pro and enabled "Samsung Account".
2. Then go to Settings>Back up and reset
3. Factory data reset
4. Asked for Samsung account and I inserted my real account.
5. Done, now I can sync with my account.
The oooooooonly issue that I can't figure out it's the way to remove the "Reactivation lock" from Settings>Lock screen and security>Find my mobile.
Well that's all hope it works for you guys.
If this doesn't work for you, you can check out unlockjunky, they will definitely be able to do it.
Good luck!!

Mate, you are an absolute legend! I've been searching for 8hrs looking for a solution after hard resetting my phone and being unable to get past the Samsung Account lock afterwards (even though I had the right username & password!) About fifty useless/outdated YT videos & a few hundred websites/forums later - none of which were helpful, I finally stumbled across your post, despite it not showing up 8hrs ago when I came straight to XDA hoping to find a solution first.
I have an improved method for #2, 3 & 4 of your post and will add all relevant info soon (just need some kip now that the panic is over). I'll also expand a little on some details and include further options which worked in my particular case, but all n'all - you're an absolute legend mate and I'd be screwed & still panicking without your shared info. Huge thanks...

You have to dial an emergency number or this trick doesn't work. Its not practical for most folks but if you are worried about dialing an emergency number I'd recommend using a SIM out of a tablet that isn't phone number enabled.

Did you get it figured out I got the edge 6 plus to work fine now it was one of the tougher ones and I've done a few on some newer models what are you stuck on?
I thought the Combination Firmware would reset the FRP lock by default after being installed.
first thank you for sharing ur experience and i want to add
that i done it step by step and it works nicely but still cant remove the reactivation
and here is how iv done it after i bypassed it using ur method
i flashed a lower modem file from stock rom N910VVRU2BOG5 which is 5.0.1
at this point my imei went off
so i went for full flash by N910VVRU2BPA1_N910VVZW2BPA1_N910VVRU2BPA1_HOME. which is 5.1.1 and did full hard reset
then i just signed in with the last Samsung account i used with ur method earlier and it passed so now i can easly remove reactivation mark , unlock and root then make it Arabic .
thx again
Did you ever post up the suggested steps to replace #'s 2-4 in the original post above? I'm not seeing them anyplace. This would be a big help. Thanks.
When I call I can't swipe to the right is there another way to open browers
I successfully used this to gain access to my phone but I believe that if I power cycle it I will be locked out again. Is there any way to remove or change the samsung account now that I am in? The options are greyed out in settings.
ADB and Root.
Hey, I have been working on these for a while keep finding new things each time I try to remove Reactivation Lock. However I was wondering if I show you guys how to enable ADB with RSA Key, and Root the device. Could someone show me how to remove the Reactivation Lock using root. I used other methods on older and newer models, but these S5's are the only ones giving me issues.
After weeks of going mad trying different solutions I've found online, here's what worked 100% for me just last night:
Login to Samsung Account on other device, select Password & Security, enter password then choose Devices. LOG-OUT of your S6 Edge if listed, confirm. Next change password - doesn't matter what, can even change it back afterwards.
Flash Lollipop (I used G925VVRU4BOK7)
Wipe Data/Cache
Boot fresh Stock firmware, enter/confirm network details, at Reactivation Lock prompt, enter user & updated password. Sign-in....
Settings -> Lock Screen & Security -> Find My Mobile. Unselect Reactivation Lock and enter password... voila!
Works for anybody else??

normally I'd say you have zero chance to unlock, however I recently saw this on telegram and I'm curious if it works...
"US/Canada devices has no oem unlock toggle!
How to get OEM Unlock option back for Non US/Canada device?
1. Open the Settings app. Tap on General Management → Date and time.
2. Use the toggle button to disable Automatic date and time.
3. Set date option will be enabled now. Tap on it, and set the date to about 10-20 days earlier.
4. Enable developer options.
4.a Go to your device Settings.
4.b Select ‘About phone’ » tap seven times on ‘Build number’.
└ This will enable Developer options under Settings.
4.c Go back to Settings » scroll down to the bottom and you’ll see Developer options menu.
5. Open developer options (in the Settings app itself), and find the option called ‘Auto update system‘. Use the toggle button to disable it.
6. Now, go back to the main screen of Setting, and then tap on Software update.
7. Disable the option ‘Download updates automatically‘.
8. Tap on ‘Download updates manually‘ option, but it will give you an error because of the wrong date, so it’s fine.
9. Restart the device.
10. Go to Settings > Developer options. The OEM unlock option should be enabled now."

I tried the above steps and DO NOT work, they also come shipped with BL 3 or something and 0 chance of rooting, if they DO happen to come with BL 1/2 then you root I think.
