Hi, when I first boot my moto X, the nav bar behind the nav buttons was transparent, but after I switch from Dalvik to ART, it is now completely black, I don't really like it. Does anyone knows how to lower the opacity or if I switch back to Dalvik would I have any problems with my apps?
Sorry for my english, I'm from Mexico.

Your English seems better than most of the native English speakers I see post here, so no worries.
As far as your question, switching back to Dalvik won't hurt any of your apps, but it may take several minutes for your phone to boot up the first time after switching back.
I'm not sure ART would affect the nav bar transparency though. What version of Android are you running? Is it a stock or custom ROM? Are you using the stock launcher? Did you apply a custom wallpaper?

Wow, that was fast. Thanks.
My version is latest 4.4.2, is stock ROM for Telcel, Mexico. I'm using stock and tried with Apex, same thing. I tried with a custom wallpaper (a pic I downloaded) and I got the black bar, I used a wallpaper from my apex theme and the bar is back to transparent. Is there a way to have my custom wallpaper with transparent bar?
Thanks!

De nada.
It has something to do with custom wallpapers. I had that issue once before and I think it had something to do with the way I cropped the photo when setting it as wallpaper. You might also try rebooting the device see if it works then.

Thanks! The solution was (at least for me) to zoom in the image a little bit. Black bar is gone.

The problem is that, the image don't go to full screen so the Nav bar become black, other answer to your problem is move the image to where the wallpapers are, that need root access, and then apply like a wallpaper no like an image ?

I'm gonna leave like this. My phone is not rooted and I'm not thinking on rooting. Is the first phone I haven't mess around with it just works perfect as it is.
Should I close this thread now or something?
Had the same issue, indeed it had to do when you apply one of your pictures as a wallpaper.

I have the Cyanogen custom rom loaded on my rooted Nexus One and I have been trying all day to morph/flash ways to change my notification bar, but no good.
Would appreciate from you fantastic people if you could lend me a hand or advice?
Thank you! (If this is wrong format in this forum I apologize greatly it is my first time posting here, but I've been following XDA for some time now)
there are many themes over in the themes forum that have meta morph files you can apply to change your status bar to black. which do you want? do you want the desire black bar? or a pure black bar? i can post my theme which i use, it has a mixture of pure black bar, circle battery icon, my preferred wifi icon, and the rest are desire icons, all mixed together to give me my favorite theme. currently using it on cyan 6 nightly from sunday.
EDIT: i added the file. i left the name exactly the same, but a few edits have been made so i hope the originator of that theme doesnt mind. you can search out that thread by the file name i uploaded.
the thing is when i attempt to morph a theme every thing changes EXCEPT the status bar. While it skins the framework.apk (mis-spelled) It takes extremely long and I eventually reboot my phone because it does not load. How long does it take for you to morph a complete skin? I was trying to morph the Carbon Notification bar and it takes very long.
Thanks btw for your reply really appreciated
yeah i am stuck at the same problem too.. it is taking too long for such a small file... even flashing roms are faster...
na dude i got a different version MM nd it morphed quickly but not right status bar always white
huh ? i didnt get u... cant u rephrase ur sentence pls .. are u saying u downloaded an older version of metamorph and it morphed quickly but that version of metamorph did'nt change ur status bar to the desired color ?
It works for me every time, very quickly. Do you have usb bugging enabled? You need that.
Like I said, that's the exact file I use every time, not sure what is wrong...
Are you sure a reboot doesn't make the white turn to black bar?
haha.. it works for me now.. i didnt enable USB debugging the last time .. awesome.. loving the new carbon fibre status bar.. wicked stuff !!
Ha nice, its always the little things
hey guys quick question: is it possible to install a black/glass status bar morph on a rooted nexus with the stock rom?

Yes, but the text would also be black. It has to be a custom ROM to modify the text too.
yes there's a stock FRF91 ROM thread over in the other forum which is theme ready so you could use any morph you want.

Good info.. I have Enom's all lined up to go on mine when I get my new MicroSDHC... Still using the stock 4G card, need more space.
Help please
So I've downloaded the Glass Status Bar morph, and everything works except my status bar is still white. I'm trying to run it on CM 6, froyo, N1. Any help would be appreciated as to why this might not be working.
Do I need to adjust any settings in CM?

Go into the CM settings under the notification bar settings and untick the custom bar and untick custom color. Reboot and then it should work.
Thanks for the tip kp and it seemed to work at first but when I tried to change back to my preferred wallpaper (when it rebooted after applying the morph it reverted to the standard Cyanogen live wallpaper) the status bar become black.
Any other suggestions?

Thanks for the tip but it didn't work. I unticked everything you said, reapplied the morph and it re-started and seemed to work although the wall paper had changed by to the standard CM live wallpaper. When I switched back to my normal wallpaper the notification bar was black. Same thing when I tried other wallpapers.
Any other ideas?

Are you running a CM6 nightly?
Im running the CM6 stable and everything works fine on my end. For the nightly, I heard that you need to stick a static wallpaper you do not want up and then go to the live wall paper to place "on top of" the wallpaper. There may be more to that but that was the jist of the conversation I read in passing.
EDIT: Here's the thread

No, I'm running the stable mod, not any of the nightly's. Tried what that thread suggested, still no luck. I'll keep trying on my end.
Just to go through the steps I did, I downloaded the file from XDA. Placed it on my N1. Used Metamorph to unzip it and install it rebooted and no-go.

is there anyway of having the dock transparent on the homescreen of my non-rooted htc one, it looks intrusive when setting a nice wallpaper. they have done the status bar and it would have looked better with the dock also, i know i can use a custom launcher and get rid of the dock altogether. but i find must launchers will bring up the black bar with the three dots at some point which is just as bad. so does anyone know if anybody has looked into this without using root or custom rom. thanks in advance..........................sudeki300
Yeah, i have asked for this myself, but i dont want to root.

There are mods available to do this but you need to unlock the bootloader, flash custom recovery and then root your device.... the options without are limited if not non-existent.
I would prefer to use an launcher than doing all that, i have used GO Launcher on my S3 and it worked great, might give it a go on my H1
John.
I also would like to do this , and I am rooted
is there something I could flash ?
EDIT: I'm an idiot

Hey guys,
I'm having an odd and somewhat frustrating problem. Using Sense 5 toolbox, I made my dock transparent. I then decided that I didn't like this transparency, so I reverted back to the original setting. While the dock DID return back to normal, it did not do so on the lock screen. Essentially, the lock screen dock is stuck in transparency mode, and I cannot change it back despite my best efforts.
I've tried playing with the settings, uninstalling Sense 5 toolbox, uninstalling Xposed, and even doing a factory reset and reinstalling the rom entirely. The problem still persists, and it''s driving me crazy.
Does anyone know what is causing this problem? I need some help, I'm desperate!
Thanks in advance.

I'm getting some weird corruption of the status bar and notification panel.
Everything seems to be running OK but I'm not sure what could be causing this.
I'm rooted on the latest update btw.
Any ideas?
Looks like a theme problem have you installed any themes or anything
That same thing happened in my S6 Edge. I use a photo from my gallery as a home screen wallpaper. I fixed it by entering the wallpaper settings, selecting the same photo and adjusting it to hide that white area at the top of the photo.

Thanks for the response, I think mine is a much bigger problem though.
It's a "glitchy" white, sometimes it's not white and it's also affecting the notification pull down, along with the lock screen and keyboard.

I can try clearing theme data or something.
Would anyone be willing to share the SystemUI apk from the latest version?

I had the same problem, what I did was boot in recovery and wipe it clean, backup first of course. It fixed mine. Good luck.

Hey everyone,
I've been looking for an answer to this question, but I can't find one anywhere, blah, blah, blah.
I am running Nova Launcher Prime 4.2.2 over the stock launcher on my N920A with Android 5.1.1. I have a wallpaper with a solid black background. It looks something like the first image below. You might not be able to see it on a monitor, but the problem is that across the bottom, something (I am assuming it's my stock launcher or theme service) is lightening my background. It is happening in front of where the dock would normally be. In order to highlight what the problem is, I took some screenshots and then used paint to color in my background. Since I am a first-time poster, I can't post links, but I can tell you that my screenshots are on i dot imgur dot com with the following file names (sorry for technically posting links...):
My home screen with Default theme: tEvYClN.jpg
My home screen with Default theme and the background colored white: i9wfuK7.jpg
Now here is what happens when I change the system theme to sd-Black
My home screen with sd-Black theme: T7tDb5N.jpg
My home screed with sd-Black theme and the background colored white: vpfYaE7.jpg
Here is one more view of what I see on my screen. iNH7n7t.jpg
So changing the theme adjusts the height of the color distortion at the bottom. and top I want to know how I can get rid of those bars altogether. I am sure that this bar on the bottom changes when I adjust the system theme and I have tried it with other wallpapers with the same result. I have done as much troubleshooting and narrowing down of the problem as I can. Any thoughts? Thank you all for your help!
