Hello.
My problem is that I've tried to flash recovery TWRP, CWM and even root - nothing works.
Flash completes succesfully, but it doesn't make any changes (I can't use the recovery, there's no root).
I have no clue what's wrong, the amount of counted flashes still increases, and there's no difference.
Please, help me!

If you successfully flashed custom recovery via Odin, you can reboot to recovery and than flash root.
Problem with flashing
But I can't...
When I try to do that nothing happens...
Maybe stupid question, but do you know how to reboot to recovery (volume up + home + power)? If this really don't work, there can be problem with three button combo, look here.

Hallo together,
I seem to have done something wrong while trying to flash the rom "RazRi_JB_X-2014-Jul-16".
Here is what i did:
- Unlocked to bootloader using official Motorola homepage
- Flashed CWM (non-touch) recovery using "Recovery Flasher by LeBobo v1.7", USB-Debugging was on
- Rebooted into bootloader and flashed "RAZRiRoot2" to prevent Stock-ROM from overwriting the recovery
- Tried to install the Custom ROM using CWM, but it fails to wipe cache (stuck on line "Formatting /cache")
Because it didn't work, i tried to reset everything as it was before to be able to try again - flashed stock-recovery using the Recovery Flasher by LeBobo, booted into bootloader and selected "Factory". The cell is now just showing the "Warning bootloader unlocked" warning and nothing else happens.
When i try to select the recovery in the bootloader menu, an image of a Android laying on its back with an opened hatch and a red warning symbol showing a "!" appears and nothing else happens.
I seem to have bricked my device, because i cant't really do anything now - is there any solution?
I read through different topics but could not find a real solution to this particular problem...
Thank you so much in advance for your help!
It's not bricked
At the moment u enter stock recovery with that android and red warning sy,bol, u need to press bot volume up + downp. Than it will enter stock recovery mode.
Those are the following things u can do to get custom rom,
1. Flash another recovery, cwm touch, cwm non-touch, twrp. They all work a little different.
2. Flash the custom rom and wipe everything, The wip can take some time. sometimes it will be seconds, sometimes it will take a couple of minutes. Every recovery behaves different, and every flash/wipe too.
3. enjoy
If u really want to go back to stock, flash your stock JB firmware by RSD-Lite.
Thank you very much for your answer. I restored the stock rom using RSD Lite and did a clean install of TWRP.
Then I did a Factory Reset and started to install the custom ROM.
The TWRP is now stuck at "Flashing File 1 of 1 /external_sd/RazRi_JB_X-2014-Jul-16.zip".
Is it normal that it takes more than five minutes or is something going wrong here? Is there something i forgot?

5 minutes is a bit too much. But that's the problem with this device. Every device behaves different and we haven't found out a solution too it.
At the moment i can't do much for you. I can only say try to wipe the partitions mannualy. Wipe system, data and cache. and mount system. And then try to install it. Maybe if that doesnt do the trick try again another recovery.
This from KTR-ROM
Code:
- Enter in TWRP or CWM
- Wipes required: data, system, cache y dalvik
*In CWM mount system must format before (Mount and storage -> Mount system)
Thanks again - that was it.
For some reason, TWRP did not automatically wipe the system-partition. It had to be mounted + wiped manually.
Not the custom ROM is up and running well. Installation took 35 minutes for some reason though...
Thank you so much for your help!

Hello everyone!
I installed the liquid smooth custom rom yesterday, and it worked fine! I also tried it with the OC kernel. Was a bit of a mistake...
Now, the rom is unstable with the OC kernel on my device, but that's not really my problem.
The issue is that i can't enter recovery! I checked with CWM manager and TWRP and CWM recovery are avaliable, and i can activate them both in the app, but i can't enter the recovery.
Tried hardware buttons(vol up + home + power), rebooting from the app(cwm manager), rebooting from the power menu (i have the reboot into recovery option) but i can't get into the recovery.
It's quite annoying because the phone is unstable and the only option is odin it to stock rom and temp cwm it back to where i was, but that seems a very tough job... (last time it took me over 2 hours... don't know why but it kept failing, did work eventually...) I do have backups, one made with CWM from current rom with no-oc kernel (the stable one).
And i have another custom rom that i backed up with TWRP. Don't know if i can do something with them...
I can do stuff on the phone, so even with the unstable-ness i can do things if needed.
i am trying to get into recovery with terminal, but wifi is ruined so getting the phone working long enough to download it via mobile data, quite difficult... But i keep trying.
edit: tried terminal, no success
Does anyone has an idea how i can get recovery working again?

Tried that, but UKF says device unsupported, don't know why... I have used it before and it worked then.
Any other options?
I got it fixed. But tbh i still don't understand how. I flashed JB stock with odin and when it rebooted, i got automaticly into CWM weirdly enough... Wasn't going to waste my maybe only chance so i flashed the custom rom, wiped everything again, reboot, went again automaticly into CWM. anyway i was third time lucky and it booted as it should. Everything is working now! Anyway thanks for trying to help.
Hi guys Recently Samsung released 5.1.1 for our devices! So I decided to make a easy tutorial on how to install TWRP on our devices (unfortunately without root).
1. Download newest odin from Here!
2. Reboot to download mode.
3. Download this file TWRP RECOVERY
4.Flash it with AP option.
5. Done! Now You should be able to boot into TWRP Recovery.
Info
Can I restore my previous custom rom now?
Yes and no. I tried restoring two roms. AOSP and TW, aosp had a bootloop then successfully booted, and TW didn't seem to boot at all.
Does it root my device/Can I root my device now?
Nope, not yet. I tried to make a custom rom with root built in but it was stuck in a bootloop.
Why would I need this?
Well. Now You can restore Your rom, and flash other roms(Some may fail due to a newer bootloader).
Any bugs?
Sometimes first boot after flashing this recovery might bootloop, but just remove Your battery and turn on Your phone again.(Happened only once to me)

Yes... I did manage to restore the backup image of 5.1 as I ended up in bootloop while trying for the root access. So far OK with at least TWRP is working.
I have a question, If I'm on 5.1.1 and I've installed this TWRP, By using this TWRP RECOVERY, can I install 5.0.1 custom rom via zip file?
I do not mean to restore my backup rom. I mean I do a fresh installation

It seems to bootloop roms that need 5.0 bootloader. But AOSP rom that runs on 5.1.1 boots up without any problems. Just during boot You might see message "kernel is not seandroid enforcing" and then the rom should boot up.
I flashed twrp via odin and it says pass then reboot after that when i try to enter recovery it get me to stock recovery any clue why is that and how to solve this ? v.v
Thanks a ton bro.
thank u so much guys

Hi I could really use some help here my phone had some trouble so I had to wipe it out and reinstall the 5.1.1 lollipop when I did so however I lost the recovery partition I was using TW RP I have since tried to reinstall it and Odin says that it is successful yet when I try to boot into the recovery partition I get to default recovery partition that comes with the phone I've also tried using the CWM recovery image and it does the same thing says its successful but I can't boot into it because it boots into the default one any idea what is going on and what I can do. I should also note that I've tried reinstalling the 5.0.1 version of lollipop and that has failed in Odin any ideas would be greatly appreciated because at the moment I have no way to root my phone I can't flash the custom kernel that's needed for 5.1.1 or anything else for that matter please help thank you

Easiest way on odin is make sure auto reboot is unchecked. When its done unplug the cable pull the battery put it back in boot into twrp Let me know how it works out for you.

Dear all,
after rooting a cyanogen my Samsung SIII mini (GT-I8190N) went into a bootloop. Unfortunately, my home button is defect so I cant access the custom recovery (at least I have no idea how).
I can access download mode using an USB jig and I tried to flash multiple combinations of firmwares - but nothing helps.
The furtherst I got was with slimKat, with showed me for half a second a dialog which launcher I want to use, before it rebooted. CM 12 always "optimizes apps" and reboots after it finishes the last. Stock does only show the boot animation in a constant loop.
I tried repartitioning in ODIN and even NAND Erase all... but with no success.
My flash counter is already at 32
Does anyone have still some ideas? Can I factory reset the phone from ODIN? Can I somehow boot into recovery from ODIN?
Best,
Jan

I suspect that your device is boot-looping on custom ROMs because there is incompatible stuff on your /data partition. The data partition needs to be wiped and you can't really do that with ODIN. You need to find a custom recovery that allows you to flash using ODIN and that is compatible with the custom ROM you are trying to flash. You also need to wipe /data (format it) before your first boot. You will loose all your info, even the stuff that was in your internal sd but the device should boot.
BUT:
I note that you said your HOME button is not working and that is required to manually boot into recovery. Additionally, with out a booting ROM you can not issue the "adb reboot recovery" command which would do it for you. There is a trick that I have learned but I only know how to do it with "heimdall" in the Ubuntu Terminal.
Basically it's like this: If you flash a recovery directly into the kernel partition, then when you try to boot normally, you will boot recovery instead. Then flashing a ROM normally (in recovery) will restore a normal kernel into the kernel partition.
The partitions for the kernel and recovery on this device are typically kernel and kernel2 respectively.
kernel -> kernel
recovery -> kernel2
So:
recovery -> kernel ( Will boot recovery on a normal boot ).
I hope I have explained this well enough. You are going to have to do some learning if you want to get this working. Good luck.
P.S. If you are thinking of asking follow questions, don't, Google it instead.

Dear Meticulus,
thanks a lot for your help. I was away for the week-end; thus the late reply.
With your help it took me only an hour to get my smartphone working again. The main tipps, which helped me was the Heimdal tool, which I wasn't aware off and the possibility to flash the recovery directly into the kernel...
It worked like a treat. The smartphone booted into TWRP directly, which finally gave my access to wipe the data partition.
It took a couple of trials before I was able to flash an android image back to the kernel/system but this also worked nicely.
So thanks again and this brick is solved :good:
