Hello:
I have doubts about which kernel is better on virginity v11: the virginity v4 or ANA2.
which manages better the use of battery?
Thanks
Regards
The 'which one is better?' threads are not allowed here at XDA, so I can't help you.

There is no absolute answer to your question OP. Different kernels will perform differently on different user's devices due to differences in how you use the device. What has the best battery life for you might not have the best battery life for another user - the same is true for the reverse. I suggest you try both kernels and make your own decision.

Hi. If the same thread is already exists, please forgive me. Been trying to find similar thread for about 3-4 pages here, but none found.
If no, well, can anyone here suggest the best kernel for ICS based ROM for our IncS in term of performance and battery life. Thanks in advance.
XS-ICS.
What's the benefit of this kernel over another? I am sorry I am also new to this. If you can just provide some high level overview

Hi. From my point of view, each kernel has it's own advantages and disadvantages in terms of performance, battery life and etc. For custom kernel like X2 ICS (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1851121), you can overclock your IncS to higher CPU speed but PLEASE bare in mind, even though our device is the same, but that doesn't mean the optimized value to overclock is the same. My suggestion, please look carefully for pro n cons for each kernel in the forum because some kernel is not supported for certain ROMs. For me, I just flashed ICS Sense G11 v2.0.1 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1887379) and it went smoothly with my Android Revolution HD 3.01 ROM.
I have used a couple of custom ICS ROMs (Nik's and IceCold) and I find that the following gives the best choice of governors, clocking variability and battery life.
Choosing the right governor and clock speed will of course impact on your performance.
Also recommend XS ICS 2.2... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1851121

ICS sense version G 11 V 2.02 is also cool.... you can try that also...I had flashed this kernel along with the new radio...believe my battery strength and smoothness has improved drastically.... my phone used to get heated up like anything but after flashing these 2, it is so cool....

Try using trickstermod (in themes and apps of incs)
i want to use a custom kernel but i read that customs kernels drain battery. is this still a problem? if not which is the best kernel?
Custom kernels don't drain battery at all. If anything they contribute to battery life improvements. Just my opinion though.
And before flashing a kernel you must have an unlocked bootloader. Check the General section. There are tons of threads there. Be sure to read the whole thread first before attempting anything stupid, or else you may end up with an expensive paperweight.
The best kernel is for you to find out on your own. We can't help you here. Sorry.
Hope you understood me.
thanks a lot bro
Best kernel depends on what rom you want to use with, but again ,as meow said, its up to you. I think the battery drain is mostly caused by rom and not by kernel,so be sure to pick a rom with good battery life

Hey all,
since my last Thread was closes due to some rule that didn´t even apply i am trying again:
I am looking for some advice for a very stable rom, TW, AOSP, AOKP, CM doesn´t matter,, i am just looking for some really stable rom advice.
NO i am not asking for the BEST or MOST stable ROM
I am just looking for some reccomendations for a really stable rom, since it is IMPOSSIBLE to try out ALL the roms out there and do some long time stability checking
Thanks in advance
Same thing
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=48679477
GALAXY NOTE N7000 // KITKAT 4.4.2 // OMNI
As stated i am not asking for the best or most stable rom
i just want a recommendation of a very stable rom
i hope all the mods and users too will understand that it is impossible to to judge a roms stability by reading their threads, as much as it is impossible to try out all the roms just to find a very stable one...
This would take hundrets of hours reading and stability testing - or as i hope a 1 line response of a user that has the exp. and knowledge of a real stable rom
So plz show some common sense and just point me in the right direction for some very stable rom
Greetings
frea
edit:
I am not looking for any special features, i dont care for the android version or distribution - i just need it to run as a surveilance camera and some sms forwarding, so the only feature the ROM i am looking for is STABILITY
Sorry, but this is extremely lazy. It took all other users also hours of reading and flashing to find out which ROM suits them best.
As you don't even specify your special usecase (=usage pattern), which Rom you're currently running, it will turn into a "most stable = best ROM" thread.
Good luck anyway and a happy new year.
Edit SMS and surveillance camera > why don't you try out a stock Samsung ROM?

Stock xxlt9 rom with removed bloats is yhe fastest and best

If you are calling this lazy you maybe havent read my requirements...
When i get a new phone i invest days of time to find the ROM that suits me best and i participated in dev. thread since this board was founded, i just cant get the Data of my old acount.
It can´t be prophibited to just ask for a very stable ROM when the alternative is wasting countless hours just to find a ROM that doesn´t need to feature anything but stability.
Nobody with a little bit of common sense would link this to the forum rule for Best ROM Threads...
No offense
but i find it interesting, that you take the time to post 2 answers instead of pointing me to a dev thread of a ROM that meets my requirements...
it is also interesting how every community is getting worse at growing user numbers - just think of this board in the beginning...

i recommend:
cm9.1 stable, cm10.1 stable, cm9 [hybrid] by imilka or stunner rom.
and if you like TW and Spen apps then go for sweet rom v10 or ultimate jellybean.

I have a GT-N7000 (international, Germany DBT) from Amazon...other than the kernel, just to make sure I don't accidentally
trigger the brick bug, it's STOCK. 4.1.2 for my usage pattern is ROCK STABLE, which is why I've stayed away from
everything else.

Better flash stock 2.3 that is the most stable rom for galaxy note
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk
This thread will get locked. It is against the rules to make "best"or "most stable" etc. threads.
Many ROMs are stable, battery saving and fast. right now I#m on slimkat saber and even it is kitkat and prety new it's all three
i suggest Slimbean 4.3.1. very very stable.
clean flash and woohooooo, best rom i have ever used.
What about KitKAt, any expierance - stable, smooth, batery life?

Still lots of work is needed in KITKAT to make it actually stable rom for NOTE1.
would suggest to try 4.3 first. try, experience and then move on with final 4.4 once released.
Hi all i have question.
Which rom and kernel present better battery life smoothness etc. ???
I'm sorry, but the 'which one is best' kind of threads are not allowed on XDA (read the rules). Just try different combinations and see what works best for you.
hello mates
just curious, i wanted to ask you all what rom/kernel have you been happy with?
regards,

DELET DIS!
Please don't ask what the "best" ROM or Kernel is. It's all depends on your usage. Please search before asking this question, as there are so many threads asking what the best setup is.
Once again stupid thread..............
Android Honeycomb with stock kernel is really good

There is no "magic bullet" that guarantees awesome battery life for everyone in all conditions. If there were, everyone would be using the same ROM, and that isn't the case, is it?
Better to find out what is causing the battery drain (rogue app, wakelocks, etc.) and address it.
There are also plenty of "best ROM" threads, including ones that discuss battery life. So another yet another thread is pointless. Should have posted in an existing thread.
Donut or Froyo is best of the best ROM for 3T ....lol

1. Freedom OS
**Pros:
-Oxygen OS based ROM
-Super stable
-Great Battery life
-Adaway
-Viper4fx
-much more stuff...
**Cons
-No more customisations than original ROM
-Not sure about Frequent updates
2. Lineage OS 15.1 unofficial
**Pros:
-oreo 8.1
-Great battery life
-lots of customisations possible
-Has much more developer support
-better than stock ROM
**Cons:
-few things are not working
Charging doesn't make a sound nor vibrate, no matter what settings.
Option to switch hw keys light on/off is missing (i know not real issue, but many prefer them off)
Display modes missing sRGB, DCI-P3
-alpha stage so not super stable
-bugs here and there
-you have to decrypt your phone { must for earlier versions but not sure about 15.1}
BEST KERNEL
No doubt Franco Kernel , best battery backup
After all it depends on you what's your taste ....
**SPECIAL MENTION
omni rom and nitrogen os are also super good but don't have great battery life
HIT THAT THANKS BUTTON IF MY POST WAS HELPFUL
i have tested many roms and kernels.
here are my results :
- oos 4.1.7 with stock kernel is amazing ! if you want more customization you can use xposed + gravity box
- sultanxda roms ( lineage 14.1 or rr based )
- and caesium kernel ! is one of the best in terms of battery, its sad it doesn't support oos and just custom roms.
and now i am testing oos 5.0.1 + latest franco ! hope it will be good.
