USB storage is internal memory, remove your files from there that you do not need. There are some folders with files that apps use, but you can remove rest of the files.

Is it possible to delete any files in the system directory? I can save close to 16 megs if delete the ring tones/notification tones/alarms that I'll never use. any advice?

Yes it's possible, but I don't think it will do you any good. As I understand, internal memory is in the data partition, and deleting files in the system partition doesn't give you any more space in data...

So what can we delete to free up space for apps?
Download and use a script to move apps and cache to your SD

As mentioned, your best bet is to move stuff to the SD card.
meh... i guess that's our best option. thanks for your help.
just saw this post#11 which has some possibilities:

Hello.
My girlfriend's s5830i is always givin her the low memory storage error.
She has got Mindcr ROM, rooted, with apptoSD, and every app in the SD.
She hasnt got many apps, only over 10 (installed by herself). I have moved all contacts to her google acount, and I have deleted all SMS.
Can I made a partition in the SD for get more internal memory or something like that? I have heard that with ROM Manager app I will break the phone.
How can I solve this problem?
Thanks you.
Go into the cwm recovery then go to advanced. Adter that select parition sdcard. Then select the size and wait until it's ready. Then search in the development section for cronmod script and install it through cwm. It will move everything of your apps directly in the sdcard so you have just 1 - 10 mb use in internal memory.

Sorry, she has got Link2SD and every possible app in the SD card,I would like to improve the internal memory for put in the phone apps without limits of space...
Maybe some partition that makes the phone believe that it has got more rom or whatever. What do you have? When you install an app in the SD it takes some internal memory too...

I have 53 apps installed and still 59MB internal memory free.
When using Link2SD choose the option 'create link' instead of 'move to sd card'
The advantages of 'create link' are explained in detail on

OK
OK thanks you, tomorrow I will use the link2SD option and, if it doesnt works, I will use the partition one.
If I use the second one I will need more info guys...

Keep in mind that Link2SD requires a separate partition to be able to use the option 'create link'

I do not know. I had problem with mounting system to work with adb, on GB it was always on - but on JB sometimes I had to remount it.
I have a 32GB sdcard, but gameloft being idiots as usual don't give me a choice to use it. I know of gl to sd but it caused me some issues resulting in me downloading data again. Does someone know how to change sdcard to /sdcard and internal into /external_sd? Its been done on phones such as some galaxy s series so why not us? Failing that can someone point me to a clear guide on how to use gl to sd properly?

You might want to use Directory Bind. Please refer to this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1410262
Works like a charm for me

Ok I binded the obb files for mc4, played great first time, second time I deleted obb file in internal as that's the point, to save space, now I launch the game it deletes the obb from external too and asks to download again, what did I do wrong ?
Wait, I think I get it, when bound, both folders are the same right? So when I deleted the internal memory file I actually deleted the external one. I figured this when I started the download and file shows up in both, correct me if I'm wrong

I don't really remember how the whole binding process goes. As far as I can recall, there's a process where the app copying all the data from your internal storage to the sd card. When it's done, just leave it as it is.
Btw, did you check your the your internal storage space after binding?

So no SD card restore point( Like With Windows restore point?
With Windows have system restore point for system settings and installed programs, not for storage... I don't know other way to save data from erased sd card.

A window program named GetDataBack is useful for you in this case.

Something wrong with your keyboard??? There are lots of missing letters/incomplete words.
LOL! Nothing wrong with the keyboard buddy . Just not typing Xtra letters as one can easily pronounce the words. Anyway, used to typing in short to save time.
