File transfer between Mac and HTC One? - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello there
My HTC One is running InsertCoin 6thSense ROM and I am unable to transfer files between my MacBook and my One. I used to use an application called Android File Transfer and despite being buggy it actually did its job, however it stopped working after the Android KitKat update. Does anyone know any alternative applications that actually work?
Thank you.

Why not just use HTC Sync Manager? It works just like iTunes, but lets you drag files and all that in just like in android file transfer.

I failed to mention it but I actually followed the steps in that article and it still did not work. Did it work for you?
@aooga I am going to give HTC Sync Manager a try.
EDIT: @NxNW I forgot to reboot both the device and the Mac after following the steps but when I did it actually worked! How stupid of me. Thank you.

Yeah Sync manager works really well, but you need to be running a Sense based rom. It flat out doesn't work on a GPE or CM rom. The interface is pretty nice too.
EDIT: Never mind. I see you're running insert coin. That works fine with sync manager.

Yeah I just tried HTC Sync Manager on the Mac and it's actually quite brilliant. They really improved it than when I first bought the HTC One, it was just awful and useless. I guess I could switch back and forth between it and Android File Transfer since it works now.

Actually, the Android File transfer Mac app works fine with CM/AOSP in the first place. The issue only occurs with Sense 5.5 and greater.
Just clarifying..

It technically works, yes, but it's really buggy and makes the whole computer freeze pretty often. At least in my experience.

HTC HERO

Hi guys i have been looking around on google xda etc. but there is nothing about running htc hero on xperia using haret, does anyone knows if this is possible . thanks in advance
First HTC Hero is a device, not something that run.
Probably you mean Hero's interface, HTC Sense. AFAIK is not ported yet.
thats what i mean im dont know much about the htc devices
Actually I've uses the Hero Rosie package from Blackstone, and it sucks. Not only it doesn't fit WVGA properly, but like sense on WM6, it's slow and takes ages to load. Plain android is no worse, I should say
i said what I wanted to boy...I too want a HTC Hero UI on my X1...i think it is by far THE best device by HTC..of course there are HD2 and all, but they have come later...

@shaban123
Well, I meant wm6.1 of course. Well, wm6 and wm5 can be ported to xperia, but it makes no sense. Just go to the Xperia ROM section and pick up any 'Leo' rom if you want sense for wm6.1/wm6.5

Just in case, I'm using
package_sense_hero_rosie_140310.tar.gz with rootfs_use_if_pbs_booting.img renamed to rootfs.img on my X1. Wifi doesn't work (well, I guess it will work once i put calibration and fix the init script but I don't care), but sound does (with the zImage from the nearby thread), and mic works for sound calls and voice command. Ok, I'll take my time to fix the issues and repackage the image. Still Sense sucks in WVGA. And a small hint to android users: if you want OpenGL and other cool things, launch the camera application before launching your desired app. That'll also make sense faster

I am using base_package0704.tar.gz + rootfs-20100414-f4f483c.zip + system1304.sqsh & downloaded latest kernel from "glemsom.anapnea.net/android/htc-msm-android" of course using drlucky's zImage. However i didn't manage to get sound working (vibrate is), shutdown is working...
Screen upside down since fatsal had to patch android driver for kovsky to initialize panel the correct way. I am not a programmer but believe it will need to be included in system.sqsh. I will give it try with set of files you're using and report on sound as well as overall impressions comparing to what I'm running

tried quickly with set of files above no sound...+ doesn't contain htc sense
as you see from my prev post, set of files I'm using, from gives a custom android 2.1 with HTC Sense look. from same thread "Sound" is among features requested for next release.
we are thankful if you could fix the init script so we can have wifi working

here is the Official Android Music 3.0 Beta! version that works android 2.2 +

I don't think this is classed as warez????
But if it is, please can someone let me know and i will immediately delete it.
My apologies if it is
enjoy

[Q] ROM Cleaner for HTC One?

hey everybody, ROM Cleaner doesnt seem to be working yet for HTC One, even though mike1986 posted a link on the Androi Revolution HD 4.2 post, the link doesnt work though.
Anybody got an idea if there is a working version out yet or if there is an alternative somewhere?
I really wanna get rid of some bloat-stuff like the social feeds and KidMode.
I tried using the HTC One X version of ROM Cleaner, it works fine, but just does not kill all bloat-stuff.

So all you have to do it flash the zip once and it will ask you
You might need a touch recovery though

AOSP 4.4 with working rotation & camera

Hey all,
Found this on dhacker29's Twitter, been using it for a couple of days. It's pretty much the same AOSP 4.4 that we already have from EvanA and koko98, with one big difference. Autorotate and Camera are both working!
I figured I'd share and also hope that this can be used by other devs to get it working in their builds. I've also included a link to dhacker's gapps package, I've used both his and the PA gapps without issue.;
AOSP 4.4 rom: http://t.co/9mSQtIRoO7
Gapps: http://t.co/o4wzxsfkig
Just to be clear, this is not my work. I am just spreading the news. All credit for this excellent build goes to XDA member dhacker29. For those of us that are using his rom, it would be a good idea to thank dhacker29 for his work.
Just find one of his posts/threads on XDA and click a thanks for him. This is a pretty cool and very functional rom to have so early in 4.4 development.
EDIT: koko98 has built a CM11 that also has working rotation and camera. Here's his link in the dev section: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2509905

How? I have no TWRP, and I can't get TWRP because all of a sudden my PC no longer sees Nexus 7 at all, no MTP, so I can't access that and even when I properly reinstall all the drivers and enable USB debugging, it doesn't detect any ADB devices. It just gives me Windows beep beep sounds when plugging it in, but that's it, other than that it's useless. I should note that this started happening just after I installed Kit Kat (100% pure install), and I should add that I'm running Windows 8.1
Other than this, the ROM is very good! Well done developer.
If this is such a great ROM shouldn't it be posted in "Original Development?"
I was on 4.4 but downgraded because I wanted Screen Control and the Camera back.

It's not posted in development because the dev, dhacker29 has not opted to post it himself. It's up to the dev or a designated maintainer of a rom whether or not to post it in development and provide support for it.
I found this rom and decided to post it as a way of sharing dhacker's work with the community. Besides, what does it matter where it's posted, if it works for you and you like it, use it. If it doesn't, just don't use it.
Mike T
