Just curious if anyone else is having Wi-Fi issues. My reception is seriously terrible and just want to see if I should be swapping it for another one or investigating Wi-Fi repeaters in my house.

I have noticed that I get better Wi-Fi signal with the m7 then the m8, I don't get full bars in some places in my house with the m8 that I did with the m7

my reception is about the same as the m7, i will lose connectivity when im about half way down my driveway same as the m7.
I just checked with Wi-Fi analyzer abd my signal is literally half what I get on my m7. A few feet from router I have -60db on m8 and -30 on m7

was this a 5GHz network, or a 2.4GHz network? I've been seeing horrible performance on my 5GHz 802.11ac network, but the 2.4GHz network seems ok. I need to steal my wife's m7 (the only other .11ac device I have access to so I can check if it is my m8 or the router. the router works fine at .11n rates with my laptop though.

This is 2.4, 5 is really bad also but isn't great on the m7

Anybody else getting slower WiFi speeds than expected? My GS4 gets 40mbps and my wife's HTC first gets 30. My HTC one seems to regularly get less than 20

I get 25Mbps which I expected... So my answer is no.

I am also running ARHD 7.2
and have been very pleased with wi go speeds from my home router , but did find that I achieved best performance by switching router to operate at 5Ghz

I don't live in an LTE area normally, however I flew to both Dallas and Houston a couple days ago which are LTE areas. I did have trouble staying connected to LTE for long but I wasn't there long enough to tell if the weak connection was due to the airport/bad range/something else. I would flicker between that and 3G pretty often when I was using my phone, but I was also moving all over the place.
Yea it's a known issue with the Evo LTE just checking if it's still a problem. Thats the only thing that aggregate me. Just hoping it's not on the ONE im fixing to upgrade

It connects a lot better to 4G but does not hold it very well in fringe LTE coverage areas from my experience all over florida
Anyone having issues keeping LTE or a wifi signal? I had this on my gs4 and it infuriated me. Happening Again On The note. I didn't have the issue with the HTC one or note 2.
Using wifi analyzer the wifi signal looks good. Idk why it's being so slow and unstable. Newer linksys n router.

yeah i think im having same issues where my wifi tends to disconnect then reconnect.

Yup. I turned off the setting where it turns off wifi completely if the signal is unstable. Kept doing it while using my chromecast so it disconnected from it. None of my other devices have an issue

I turned off the wifi scanning and I got a message about my wifi signal being bad even though I'm 10 feet in a direct line to my router. I also cannot keep an LTE signal around my house, but my S4 manages to without issues. Turning on airplane mode will lock an LTE signal for about 2 minutes and it reverts back to 4G.

I turned that off as well. Having it off or on hasn't affected much it seems. I'm also very close to my router with nothing blocking. I don't get it, thought the plastic was supposed to improve connectivity?
Like I said, I've only had issues on this and the gs4. Girlfriend has a gs3 which doesn't have issues.

Maybe you just keep getting a lemon device? Mine seems to work fine and my S4 did too
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk 5
Possibly. I read about others having these issues on the gs4. Obviously not everyone it would be my luck to keep getting lemons.

LTE
Yep, got mine yesterday (10.5) and it wont hold onto LTE. I can turn on and off Airplane mode and it will lock onto LTE immediately, but after about a minute, it drops back to 4G. NONE of my other phones did this (S3, S4, HTC 1, Optimus G Pro, Skyrocket, etc...)
What us different about the G2 that my daughter gets LTE in areas that I don't, it's really pissing me off

Unfortunately, HTC has never really been a strong RF performer. Even though the M8 is a huge step up from devices like the EVO LTE and M7, that only puts it into the “average” category. However, the M8 should be somewhat on-par with the G2, according to these articles:
http://s4gru.com/index.php?/blog/1/entry-362-teaser-how-does-htc-m8-rf-performance-stack-up/
http://s4gru.com/index.php?/blog/1/...-first-announced-sprint-tri-band-lte-handset/
Have you checked to see what the reception is on both devices when they’re next to each other? You should either look at one of the engineering screens or use SignalCheck.

I hadn't checked the reception between the 2 devices side by side, me and her have been in three different areas so far where she had lte and I only get 3g, even when in the house she stays connected to lte where in some rooms mine kicks back to 3g.
I had both the evo lte and the m7, the m8 does have better reception the the 2.

I know this might not be of help since it's comparing a different phone and city but with my M7 and now my M8 I got LTE in places that my fiances LG Optimus G didn't get LTE. Same goes with her new Note 3, I find my M8 usually gets much better speeds as well.
May be something going on with your phone.
To me HTC was above Samsung but below moto

So I recently upgraded my internet speed too 300 mbps (I now work for time Warner so my services are free), now my laptop can pull the full 300 but my phone maxed out at 40ish.
Is that the top speed of WiFi or is speedtest's app whack?

I get 65 with a dual band n router, I don't think you'll ever see anything above 65 with an n or ac router.
You should be able to pull higher than 65 thru the Wi-Fi on the phone. I can almost swear that I remember reading somewhere that this phone has a dual MiMo WiFi chip, which should allow for speeds up to 300.
You are testing your laptop speed via WiFi, right? Not hardwired?

there seems to be some correlation to speed and internet security type,
my results are.
WPA2 tkip 54mps
WPA2 AES 54mps
WPA2 AES&TKIP 65mps
No security 135mps

The fastest I've seen with my M7 was 115mbps, when I was paying for the faster service thru Comcast. This was on a 5ghz ac channel.
The fastest I've seen with my M8 so far has been 61mbps, but that's because I'm only paying for 50mbps right now.

Mine connects at 433mbps and easily does 100mbps (my ISP speed) on a speed test. I have a really good AC router though.
Km found out my Arris tg862 modem is 2.4 N only

Mine also connects to my Asus RT-AC68U at 433Mbps and I get 150-175 Mbps up 20-25Mbps down on my 150/20 connection.
I'm almost at the 300mbps. Doing some tweeking.
