Well I recorded a video with my mobile on the concert, yep it was loud there but at least it should have taken with better quality. When you listen to it, it sounds like wind nothing else, only chaotic noise. My friend's Galaxy took better video with great sound and mine just sucks :/
anyone has this problem?
I will upload soon to show you guys
P.S sorry wrong section should be moved to Xperia SP Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Could you provide video sample pf your friends SGS for comparison too?
Yeah got exactly the same problem recording video at a couple of concerts think the microphone just can't handle the loudness....
hey
Is your video sound quality is any similar to this?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zsl2bGhweYY
youtube script doesnt seem working...
i've seen this reported but on 4.1 not 4.3, what rom u use?
it happened in same sound conditions like stadium or concert, some guys handled it in funny way by putting a sticker or anything that cover 2nd mic. maybe u can do so till proper solution came out or (it can be hardware related, i don't know) i never faced this prob
That sample is exactly the issue. I'll experiment with the sticker idea for the next concert.
Thanks
yeah I got same problem shown in the video. So where should I put a sticker?
Me too
Im having the same problem, is there any solution? Script?

The sound quality is still just as bad as the Xperia's speakers.
meh.. have u tried that?? , I was hoping to get a better sound... maybe the audio quality doesn't help the video..

You mean maybe the camcorder sucks. Anyways, it would be interesting to see if the sound quality improves.
If somone want change the speaker please check this site http://sexperia.eu/hardware-wymiana-glosnika-vt282.htm if you dont know Polish youse google translate or write to skandal89 on e-mail: [email protected]
The speaker quality is more better on real. The skandal89 camcorder have problems with microphone
A guide in english would be great. Google isnt really reliable in translations. What about the volume, is the new speaker louder? Where do i geht the K1 Speaker, can i buy it seperatly or do i have to buy the phone?
Drilling some speaker holes in the backside of the cover might improve sound further.
Yeah I would like to understand it too, anyone can help here? Looking at the pic, the Motorola K1 Speaker is bigger, so I assume it should be a bit louder? And perhaps it will have slight better sound?
Anyway wanna translate? I wanna swap too
Thanks
translation at a glance:
We (me an skandal89)got the idea:
The idea to replace the speaker in X1 to louder speaker from Motorola K1. But It was still weak. It was necessary to reduce the plasticwhere was a stick antenna. Later I told him that threw the speaker from Motorola E398. And it was the best solution. Except that the plastic is no longer fit so again using a soldering iron was mounted antenna. But without plastic. And that's all. The voice of the speaker is very good. I recommend.
P.S
sorry for mistakes, I speak better English than write it.
sounds good but how to remove the battery cover?
This is relevant to my interests

a video would be great how you did that
Anyone hear if Samsung are fixing the video playback and camera quality?
The video is great in HD but when you watch lower quality rips the film looks great in day parts but at night in movies you can see lots of blocking, yes there should be some as lower quality but not at the level it shows, I tried on my i8910 and the sgsi9000 and the same video in night time scenes looks better on the i8900, I did hear that the reason the sgs has bad blocking is the firmware is not right, the phone is not reading the difference in the shades of black or something.
And camera, I hope this again is firmware as the pics are fine until you zoom, they are washed out and blocky, I know it took awhile before someone modded the i8910 to get the best jpeg code for it so fingers crossed Samsung or someone on here does that.......just seeing if any news on these two things.
Cheers

Emmm..? Great quality in both camera and video playback here...
its one of those things that when you see it you dont miss it again, I did come across a page on the net with a guy speaking about it, its a firmware thing, it will never be perfect as there will always be some blocking with lower bit rips but at this time the sgs shows it up more than it should, from what I remember the guy said it was to do with the graphic chip and it not reading the differences in blacks so rather than a blend with shadows and dark stuff (like a guy running around in a cave say) it shows blocking, anyway this guy said he did something so that it bypassed the chip and the picture was fine....but he did not say how and nor can I find the bloody page again.
Camera wise, well its an old story with Samsung, they shrink there files too much, dont know why and they did not learn from the error with the i8910, it took hyperx and faenil to sort the code out and get better quality pictures, from what I read on here its same problem.

I love the sgs and hope these things are fixed by them and I dont have to wait for some person with talent to fix it
Ideed, there are differences in quality. Never noticed them.
Well, I suppose it should be pretty easy to fix if anyone actually got to do it (I know they even did it on symbian, which is like the most complicated os ever).
For the quality of video - never really tried low quality files, so never noticed a thing. But from description - it could be something to do not with drivers or anything, but with screen itself (all the deal about true black, which we dont see on normal lcd display). But thats just guess.
Hey guys, Are any of you experiancing really poor video results? If i hole the camera still the video quality is just fine, but big time problems happen when i move the camera. The upper portion of the video start to have lines of pixelation that almost deems the camera unusable. Its not satisfying at all to watch these videos. Really disapointed. Anyone else seeing anything like this?
Check out how pixelated this gets when moving around. And this is not even close to the worst that ive seen with it so far. Youll have to cops and paste as the forum doesn not allow new users to insert direct links.

This one is even worse..... really sorry bout the gross dirsty dishes guys!

You've probably got it set to FULL HD, right? I've not really paid that much attention to what happens when moving the camera... This is probably an issue with all cameras of this type.. it's just not going to produce the same results as pro quality gear :-/
I had the same results on all resolution settings.
I have a 32g class 10 card..... but also tried recording straight to the phone... all with the same results.
Get something like a GoPro for recording your street races! '92 Hatch
j/k If your looking for good video / pic quality HTC wouldn't be the way to go. I know they're getting better, but they're not there yet.
It feels more like a softwar bug more than anything else, like the camera is trying to do way to much adjusting to light levels when you move it. I wish there was like just a way to turn light adjustments off. Disclaimer... i have no idea what I am talking about.

Those days are long over. Had a honda k20a2 EG that I had to part out for $$$ when me and the wife split. I miss it.. lol
I've taken my camera to a couple of gigs but on both occasions the resulting video has bad interference when using the zoom. Here is an example at 1:36, 1:52, 2:56, 3:15 and 3:38. Has anybody else suffered from this? I'm suspecting some dirty mechanics in there and may have to return it to Amazon. If it was simply high volume sound distortion then fair enough but it appears to only happen when using the zoom, particularly zoom out.

No problems for me, I had an expensive Nikon camera that had a pretty loud motor noise on zoom, but I am pleased to say I can't hear it on any video I have shot so far.

Glad to hear that, thanks for the reply. I've sent mine back to Amazon and will get another tomorrow in time for Bobby Womack on Sunday. There's so much else brilliant about the camera any other one would seem so retro!

I got another one, this time in blue/black and sadly have to report exactly the same problem as seen in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2MJ1Zm7lJCo
It's still not too late to return it to Amazon. I called Samsung but they kept asking me if I got the zoom crackling on photos, I tried to explain you wouldn't notice a crackling noise on a photograph.
Tonight I'm going to a quieter gig so will test it out one more time but if it screws up the audio on acoustic songs then back it will have to go.
Bad sound recording quality on my Xperia SP. Is anyone facing the same issue? Please help me resolve this. If you don't know what I am talking about then please check this out.

Same here... Guess it's a hardware related issue. Xperia ZL, Xperia L, and others have this mic too... Shame on Sony.
Putting your finger on the microphone while recording a concert for example will clear the sound a bit out
Ohhh yes everytime when im recording a video ill put my fingers on the microphone infact when there are 2 microphones should i put 2 fingers on them, or maybe should i put fingers on the camera for better quality..... I checked EVERYWHERE for this problem and still nothing SHAME ON SONY ! ! ! !
Is there going to be a problem fix or we should carry on with the problem. Its annoying and unacceptable !
I have this problem too!
me too facing this problem. it's very annoying
I have this problem too and I tried carry this phone under warranty but they did nothing
