Hi i have a galaxy note gt-n7000 with GB 2.3.6
i have an odd bug that drain my battery almost the whole charge in about 10 hrs on stand by
i refer to usage battery and i found SO andoid at 70% with almost 7 hrs usage cpu. i read about this bug in other phone... but mine just "start" when my wify is ON...
so i upgrade to ICS the last relase and the bug still on..SO android still too high...i noticed that the wifi in the ICS comes with two arrows one orange from dowloading and other green for uploading and the orange arrow always still on...i dont have any background running to download data..i dont know why the wifi still alive and showing that arrow ligth on...
some times the orange arrow goes off but few seconds laters comes on againg ans still for a loong time...
this is just for the wifi...on my 3g connection no activity shows at all...
i donwloaded a wifi data counter and no data transfer at all too...
for example in 10 hours of "deep sleep" the wifi count like a 800kb but my battery drain so bad...i repeat only with wifi on...
any solution?
im rigth now om my stock rom 2.3.6
There is a known problem with some wifi routers draining the hell out of the battery on SGS2 and Note. What router are you using?

Lol research how to analyze battery drains wakelocks and such
Check betterbatterystats and cpuspy if your phone sleeps and whats causing it not to. Use the search

Any idea is normal that value? My battery dies So Much fast and So Androìd value its too high on battery usage...
Cpu spy please and reset stats after charged so you get the picture discharging.
With betterbattery stats do the same, with custom reference point from the moment you unhook.
Dont touch you phone for at least an hour or two then post both screenshots

Hi everyone,
Since the10.1.A.1.434 update i notice some random battery drain, normally after 12hours of basic usage (20 sms, 30min read news, check facebook...) i got like 60% of battery, but some day after only 5 hours i got 60% and when i look in battery usage, android eat 70%
Someone notice the same bug and know how to fix it ? (Stamina mode is ON)
ps: sorry for my bad english
Yes, i have the same feelings about the battery. It drains for some reason. Couldn't tell if it is for the 434 because I never really used the 350. I eventually turned in my first phone because I couldn't even get to 2 hours screentime before battery died. This second unit is better, but my personal feeling is battery life sucks on the Z. Use it too in stamina mode: it discharged 6% overnight and percentage seems to drop 2 or 3 numbers at a time: I am pretty sure that in my case a good old rooting/nice kernel/ram cleaning/cpu doesn't need to jump at 1 ghz everytime you touch the screen treatment will do miracles as it did with my s3.

Maybe stop using the stamina mode? I read nothing about a draining battery yet. I didn't test this firmware yet. I will if this problem is only to stamina mode users

I'll gonna try some days without stamina mode as you say, maybe it's just a stamina bug.
having the same problem so i am going back to .350
After .434 update, the battery seems to drain a lot slower when unused ( stamina mode enabled ).
After 8 hours left unused, only 1% of the battery drained.
Realy strange... And it isn't a stamina bug, i disable it and i got the same battery drain today. 45% use in only 5h without use my XZ.

High probability that during the upgrade from .350 that some of your apps are causing issues, I have seen this before with many different phones/roms, something that fixes it for most of them is to clear the delvik cache, then when the phone is rebooting, it forces all the applications to re-optimise. Or the worst case factory reset then re-install/restore your apps from backup

I have backup the phone with the repair tool on pc companion, it's seems to be like a total wipe, everything on the phone have been deleted and the rom have been installed properly. now all seems to be ok, i only lose 5% in 4 hours in stand by with the same applications installed and everything exactly the same like before.

this is a confirmed issue with firmware.434 as i have bought and sold 6 xperia z just to confirm this issue .... my phones lost 20% battert in 8 hours just by sitting idle over night..
I flashed .350 on my 7th xperia z and there is no drain now....
no idea why this is happening. they are saying in another thread that its due to baseband... but how do we flash the firmware without the baseband
Funny,i found it better then the. 350 fw I mean, for me the battery life on fw. 434 is much more improved
One & Only Xperia Z
I was also getting high battery drain out of nowhere on .434. I installed Better Battery Stats and it showed the culprit was something called "wifistatemachine".
I had previously set the wifi to only stay on when plugged in when the phone is asleep. I changed this setting to always stay on and the wifistatemachine wakelock has now disappeared and my battery drain is back to less than 1% per hour in standby. Maybe worth a try to see if this helps anyone else

I have hp touchpad 16gb, recentlythe battery drain more than badly, on webos >-500ma on with wifi off normal use, and when wifi on it >-1900ma without using just let it stand by with wifi and screen on,
when on android it's -20ma on stand by and >-2000ma when wifi on without use
Is there anyone having the same problem, and know how to fix it

Have the exact same issue on my HP touch pad 32gb wifi. My battery drain is 500-750 ma on both android and webos with wifi off. It is a constant 1750ma on android and webos with wifi on. The upper half on the back becomes too hot with wifi on.
It seems to be a wifi hardware or router problem and not is os related?
Tried several things as below but none helped.
Acme uninstall and clean acme install - solved no wifi issue in cm10.1 but no change in wifi battery drain
Reset webos ,touch pad wifi fix patch etc
Have Asus rt-n16 router - tried changing dtim , beacon interval etc
Reset the router
Update router to latest Asus firmware of 7-7-13
Changing router channels etc
Seems this issue is not very rare as several people have reported this issue on webos nations. Link
Any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks
Keeping the wifi on, without even connecting to a wireless network results in huge battery drain as described above.
Does this mean wifi hardware is at fault and not a router problem?
Anybody..

Honestly, I'll bet it's your WiFi hardware. My battery is fine in webOS and Android when I leave WiFi off, but when I turn it on in Android I drop a few percent instantly.
Your router shouldn't be at fault if your battery is still draining with WiFi off. Have you overclocked or done anything else that could adversely affect battery life? Try enabling airplane mode for a while and see if that saves your battery.

Thanks wmh7 for the reply.
My touch pad is not overclocked or not using any mods.
Wifi battery drain is present in both webos and android. The drain starts as soon as I switch on wifi and persists even if I connect to router or not. Airplane and wifi off modes are fine with battery drain. But without wifi what's the fun of using touch pad.
The heat with wifi on is also a major issue.
As you mentioned I also think my touch pad wifi hardware is at fault.
Thanks

Helllo, I recently bought my Xperia SP. I really like this phone. I didn't have any problem (wifi). From the first time I bought my phone, I noticed that my battery is draining too fast. I loose every night about 20% battery. Data and wifi are closed and STAMINA mode is turned on. Do you have any solution about this problem? Sorry for my English and Thanks in advance!!
A few people have complained about this, but for me, with stamina on, standby battery life is superb.
Wakelock detector is available in the Play store - this is a useful tool for seeing what's happening to your phone when the screen is off. With WiFi and data on and the screen off, my phone is only awake 6% of the time and it's mostly Facebook (terrible app) doing things.
With the screen off I might only drop 1 or 2% whilst I'm asleep.

Switch to GSM only.
Besides that it seems that an enabled Google Now is leeching a lot of battery too.

1. What ROM (stock?) do u use?
2. What firmware?
3. What baseband?
4. What kernel?
Give us a lil info about what u have in your hands :fingers-crossed:
Well now I unistalled facebook. I'm using stock rom with the latest firmware (.245), without root. I don't have enough apps. Only facebook/twitter and some games. I installed wakelock detector and i saw that facebook is doing the most battery usage.
me either, this sucks, i did a factory reset 2 days ago, at first it was fixed,
but then the wakelocks came back next day, it's the superstamina-xssm again, also with the most alarm

my off screen battery consume only some internet connection apps if connected to Internet....
And if I sleep usually I will turn on airplane mode, so maybe whole only 1-2% of battery is been taken
I don't know what happening. my battery is draining so fast. With stamina mode on and everything ese closed I usually loose 15-20%!!! I disables Facebok app but nothing, Battery is still draining!

i have also made the changes and after that the battery drains like hell
No I didnt done any changes to wifi settings because I didn't have any problem with my Wifi!! I just clean cache on Eco Mode and I will see how battery is going!
i had peretty gud battery life , about 6-7 hrs of sot with wifi on all the day and lots of whatsapping . but now somehow suddenly stamina mod stopped working and getting lots of awake by whatsapp even it is greenified
Same problem here
Xperia SP battery backup is fine when i am using it. But when everything is off and stamina is on at night, i usually lose about 25% of my battery with cellular on overnight !!! But in airplane mode, stamina mode works fine. Only 0%-1% battery drain overnight. I didn't exclude anything in stamina mode. And i always keep my mobile data, wifi off when sleeping. I also checked battery stat but nothing is out of ordinary. But i think cell standby is consuming the power as everything is normal in airplane mode. But why do this happens to me when so many others are fine with cellular on? And the question is, how do i decrease the excess battery consumption by cellular mode when cellular mode is on and mobile data is off? It doesn't make any sense. Any solution for this weird problem? Help me please, this thing is driving me crazy. It takes more then an hour to charge 25% I am not rooted, bootloader locked, completely stock .205 and i have tried flashing and restoring via sus but nothing works. I even formated my internal memory and sd card I am using Xperia SP for about 10 months and stamina mode never worked for me :crying:

Alright i have sorted it out kinda... When um using settings -> GSM/WCDMA, the cell standby keeps draining battery. But when i select GSM only, the battery doesn't drain, lost only 2% over night with stamina on. But i ask this, how the hell am i supposed to use 3G data when the GSM only setting is selected ? Also another thing, the phone is intended for USA market(the customization is customized US). I bought it from Bangladesh and using in Bangladesh. Does this battery drain has to do anything with different Baseband version maybe ? I don't really know anything about baseband and stuff, just a guess. Anyone can help me in this matter ? Shall i flash an Generic INDIA rom ? Because Bangladesh is located besides India...
I have the same problem, maybe its a wrong baseband?

Yes, may be it is.
So I need to know can I flash only baseband from 4.1 ftf over 4.3? Because this problem is never exsisted in JB 4.1. :good:

My question exactly. Look at my post (up). My XSP is made for usa market and i am using it in Bangladesh. Maybe that is what causing the battery drain when i use WCDMA/GSM and WCDMA only. But in GSM only, battery life is fine. Not even a single percent battery drain over night. Very huge difference. Now i am downloading a generic indian .ftf to check if it is because of different intended market or not... I will let you know as soon as i am done checking...

I think you can do it as soon as the both rom(4.1 and 4.3) are intended for the same market as the one you are using right now... Because they both will have the same baseband i think. But then, it would make no sense to flash the same baseband. I am not sure though. I am not a developer. You better check with some expert before messing around with baseband....
Yeah, im using an european modded rom on a latinamerican country. Will try New baseband as soon as i have some spare time
Hey guys,
from about two months I am a proud owner of a 4x. I really like the phone but I am having serious battery issues. It did not take long for me to get CM 10.1.2 Stable. The main reason was the bad battery life of stock 4.1.2. However, the problems continued in CM as well. I have baseband wakelocks, wlan_rx_wake wakelocks and whenever I leave network location on I get nlp wakelocks as well. I tried Werewolf, iodak and Optimus Prime kernels. Not one of them seemed to resolve the problems. I had a lot of faith in werewolf 8b, but unfortunately it rarely goes beyond the LG logo and when it does I do not get network signal. Can any of you guys recommend what to do to get a decent battery life out of my phone. I do not expect miracles from a 4.7" quad-core phone but I'd like to be able to go through a whole day without having to charge it. I rarely get more than 2 hours of screen on time.
Thanks in advance!

Try slim bean (4.3) port for our phone... Used to last average 4 hours of screen time with max 700 mhz cpu and interactive governor, which was more than enough for texting and some light games, and also use greenify to freeze those pain in the ass apps always awakening the phone... Download bbs or somthing and post the results, if you want, so you let us know !
I use BBS to track usage. This night I did an experiment. I charged the phone before I went to sleep and left it with wi-fi on. After exactly 10 hours the battery was at 42%...The strange thing is that it was in deep sleep over 8 hours and there is nothing strange in BBS. I will do this one more time just to check that it was not a one-time thing and post the dump file. With the wi-fi off (and data off), the phone can idle for hours without loosing a single % of battery.

Same here, 89% deep sleep and exactly 6% per hour. That is enormous, this means that during the day (12h) you lose 72% of battery without even touching the phone...After all with a smartphone it is expected to keep wi-fi on during the day. Have you found a solution to that problem?
