Well what you can do is get the data from your game folder...usually is in android or data folder can't remember and just save it on your pc for example...and then just put it back in the same place after you restore

I did this process and on some games working well on others don't, it's because they store they data differently probably or I lost on the way something. BTW, the most important part is in Android > data.
That could be an option but i thought there would be a simpler way

Do you mean some Application? ...nothing what I am aware of...specially for not rooted devices. Maybe Backup&Restore in PC Companion do this job, I never tried.
Yeah i meant an app, but options seem to he fairly limited for non rooted devices

Hey, I don't know if this can help, maybe not in your case because you are not rooted but I telling you what happened today to me.
I had saved all the folders with obb file of all my games time ago. Every time when I install again the game I just put back the folder and I do the installation. If you do a fresh installation probably your Game Progress will be gone, but I had a Backup of my System Partition, I restored my Partition today with a Backup from last week, so I do not care if I was losing my Game Progress so I just copied again all my folders, started the Game, the Game did his installation and you want to know, my Game Progress was still there.
So maybe if you save the Android>obb folders on SD, then Backup the System Partition with PC Companion, then do what you have to do, Restore the Backup, which will be without obb folders, then you copy back in place the obb folders which you saved before, I think you will not lose your Game Progress and this is the way to backup all data.
I hope this can be helpful to you in some way.

Trying to restore titanium backup of downloaded apps and settings from another device. Apps restore properly but none of the settings do (game scores, etc.)
I have never had a problem restoring to other devices. Is there anything I have to do to fix this?
Dmore rom, semaphore kernel
Had the same problem at one point, tried fixing it but didn't know what to do and nothing seemed to make any difference. And then suddenly one day it was working again.
The only difference i can think of is I updated titanium backup. try that.
If that doesn't work try uninstalling it and reinstalling it (copy the titanium backup folder on your sd card onto your computer just in case it gets deleted, don't think it should.)
Other than that google the problem (Titanium backup wont restore apps - google search), there are ton of similar situations, there's probably an answer out there already that'll work for you

I'm on version 5 so that should be fine. and thanks for the link, although I did not find why data is not being restored.
Strange thing is that data from ONE app was restored but not others. After seeing that I remade the backup but the same thing happened. I wonder if its where the i9000 stores the data of backups is the issue
No other ideas? No one has had this happen?
I've been looking for a solution for two nights, this hasn't happened to anyone?

Go into options of titanium and make sure you have backup external data to always. I run a restore this morning because I was switching ROMs and everything worked fine.

In advanced, there is something to do with sym link. Check that. Try again. Some roms use that.

Restore manually. When you go to the folder with all the backups, there should be a bunch of .tar and other files. Just install the apks on the other phone and manually restore the data in the .tars

I see the tars, and in each tar there is a data folder, another data folder inside, and then the .com folders. what do i restore and where do I put it?
for example, in the AKnotepad .com folder there are these folders:
app_sslcache
databases
shared_prefs
some apps also have a files folder inside the .com
I can just place them using ES file browser with root browsing method on the phone, just am not sure where.
When O had a look into my backups, that had data folders in them. Go on your old phone and see where the files in data folders go. Most go to /data/data. I recommend Root Explorer.

Hey guys, I have a problem with installing apps on my LG (market and non-market ones).
It basically says when I install them that I have INSUFFICIENT STORAGE AVAILABLE (error); with non-market apps the same and that I need to remove some apps.
I have 6.43GB of Internal Memory left, and 19.6GB of External Memory. It's very strange because I CAN download some apps (even bigger than the one that I can't), but other ones got that error.
Have any ideas? Maybe someone with the same problem?
p.s. I have no ROM installed; I rooted it 2 months ago..

cuz lucky patcher is the issue actually, patches that it had done.
when it patches the app, it creates patched .odex, which you need to manually delete when you update/reinstall the app. i had the same issue, but unfortunately i lost track of the thread with the fix. if i find it again, i'll post it.
edit:
try this: "Troubleshooting->Remove fixes and backups (to update app)" in lucky patcher.
i manually removed these .odexes, but this should work too. good luck.
edit2:
found the manual solution: http://kacnje.blogspot.com/2012/10/android-error-insufficient-free-space.html
sretno!
Just launch Lucky Patcher, the program will delete those files automatically. It works for me.

****, you weren't supposed to delete all of them, just the one from the app that wasn't installing. you need those other .odex files for system to function properly ><. do you have any backup at all? if not, you'll probably need to flash kdz file again (good news is, i don't think you'll lose any of the data or settings).

Just search for it in the General section, I bet you will find what you need.
Shouldn't missing .odex files be rebuilt automatically on reboot? At least that's what's happening after a factory reset (which, amongst others, also deletes al .odex files), and after a wipe of the Dalvik cache (which does exactly that: delete all .odex files).
Being stuck at boot, as you write, try this:
Boot into recovery
Select to "Wipe Dalvik Cache"
Reboot
After the next boot, the entire Dalvik cache should be rebuilt. Of course this requires a custom recovery to be installed (stock recovery doesn't offer to "wipe dalvik cache"; here you had to do a factory-reset, which would also delete all your apps and data).
I used this method:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2069723&highlight=flash+kdz+files
so I updated my firmware and now have 4.1.2 JB and everything works fine :victory:
thanks for helping! :good::good:
I wish there were some such flashing tools available for the P880 on Linux. But as much as I've google'd around, I could not find anything. Anybody tried the toolkit available here on XDA for the P990? Can it be used for the P880 as well?
so, just that.

Data sync from the play store. Must be rooted and have both devices on the same Wi-Fi network. You can choose to move data or app and data. Obviously, the bigger it is the longer it'll take.
Edit: guess you can sync to the cloud now. That's cool. I might use it more.

Thanks for the reply. But it requires root and that's something I still dont have on mi X
You can use helium to do that, even w/out root. Just need to hook the phone up to the computer with the helium desktop app running and you should be able to pull the data then from your old phone and put it on the new phone with the app.
+1 for helium, it works great!

BusyBox
I was going to use the DataSync app to copy a few app data files for games,
but I couldn't get DataSync to start on my Moto X because BusyBox wasn't
installed. I've tried two or three of the BusyBox installers on the Play
Store but all have failed to install. My old phone is a Droid X-2 and is
rooted with BusyBox and ready to use the DataSync app. Has anyone got
BusyBox to install on the Moto X? Should I change the install folder? I
don't have much experience with BusyBox other than installing it on my X-2
for some app. I may just try the Helium desktop app for the app data copy
but I would like to know about BusyBox in case it's needed later. DataSync says it does work with the Motorola phones but I'll try it anyway. Thanks.

Busy box installed fine for me... Have you tried normal install vs smart install? Not sure how much of a difference it'll make but if you haven't, at least it'll be something new to try.. Works both ways for me and I've never had to change the location.
I always had issues getting data back on certain apps with helium. Must just be me, I hear great things about it, anyway, data sync is just something I'm more familiar with. Easier too.. At least for me. But yes, busy box has worked for me on stock rooted, stock rooted SS, and TMo port to VZW.

I read somewhere to boot to recovery so the r/w permissions were off. Once I did that and BusyBox installed with no problem. Also, DataSync worked awesome and was super easy. I uploaded the two apps to the other detected device no problem.
Can anyone confirm that any of these methods work on iron man 3? I've tried titanium backup and my backup pro in the past and the game days never synced. Always had to completely restart the game...

I think you might need to enable a setting when you're using the backup to install. There should be an option to either just install the app, or to install the app and all previous data. I think. Sorry if it wasn't too helpful; I haven't used Titanium for a year now.

Hi guys I'm another user in search of transfer game progress from Iron Man 3.
I tried many applications like Helium, Titanium Backup (with a nandroid backup), My backup Root and nothing works for me.
Always Iron Man 3 reset to begining (tutorial)
I´m not tried DataSync, but i'm not sure is working or not
Anyone please confirm any method for sure ??
Many thanks in advance for
Sorry for my bad English, I'm from Chile XD
I also tried to change my Device ID (with the same as the old S3) and nothing happens again!!
And I tried to do a Nandroid Backup, choose the game Iron Man 3 and restored it with Titanium Backup Pro (I purchased it) and nothing again!!
I usually go into /data/data and pull its directory. That is where saved games and settings are typically stored.

Thanks smokedkill, I was able to transfer using files from /sdcard/Android/obb/ and /data/data. This was a test from a new setup with a small score. I will update once I have some more achievements in the game.
Hi,
Does any one of you have a problem with ADB restore? It looks like it restores APKs, but freezes trying to restore data. Doesn't matter if I use ADB or Helium.
EDIT:
Ok, just read that other transformers tablets have this problem too
How do they expect us not to root their devices, if they break basic functionality.....

Same problem here. I tried to backup app data from my old Samsung 10.1 and restore on TF701: no chance, no matter what I tried... :crying:
Well, I thought I could take DataBackup.apk and odex from tf701t and put it in \system\app on my rooted xperia z and try to make a backup that can be recovered to the tablet, but unfortunately "App backup" doesn't show in my app drawer on XZ. Any one have an idea why? Or maybe someone know how to do it, or is it even possible?
I doubt you will be able to restore app data without root. That is what you are trying to do - write to the /data partition over adb?

ADB backup/restore doesn't require any special permisions. It's a native function built into Android since JB (or ICS, I don't remember).

Same problem on my TF701 - restore starts and hangs. It actually restores the app, but fails to restore data. The app will crash on first run, then reset the data and fix itself on the 2nd run, but with data reset.
All Transformers apparently suffer from this. WTF, ASUS.
Please help!
Ive just got back off holidays with our newborn son, and seem to have deleted my pictures on my P20 Pro via my laptop.
I just dont know what else to do!
I cant find them anywhere, and have tried using dr.fone to recover them, however it is asking me to root my phone.
I have never done this, and am worried that i could loose the pictures.
Im fearing that the longer i leave it, the higher the chance on me not getting them back.
Can anyone help me/walk me through this process?

Thanks for your advise. However I have tried this and it only recovers pictures I have. It says that it hasn't got root access. How do I get root access? I'm using a huawei P20 Pro.
Root requires unlocked bootloader, if yours isn't unlocked then you're out of look at the moment as all paid services are down again.
Problem is unlocking bootloader does a full wipe anyway. Google screwed us by removing mass storage mode. I've not found a fully working alternative yet unfortunately.
Doesn't the app offer to do a deep scan after? It will show u current pics but should show deleted as well.. It simply displays all valid jpg png files etc it can retrieve from the file structure if it finds their file contents still intact. Deleting a file doesn't actually delete its data, just removes it from the file allocation table so the device can then use that space again if it wants to

I know it sounds stupid, but do you, by any chance, use the Google "Photos" app? If you enabled backup for local photos there, those pictures should still be in the "Photos" in your Google account...
