:( I was so close guys.

They have stock in the Sprint Store. I called yesterday playing dumb to see if I could get a store to sell early. I was told it would be released today. So I take my happy little but over to the Sprint Store as soon as it opens this morning. Lady at the counter tells me yes they have some in stock and yes I can purchase one. She goes back and grabs a box and brings it up to begin the purchase process.
Then a manager stops her. He informs her that they cannot sell them yet and he sends me on my sad little heartbroken way.

Ugh, I couldn't imagine the anger I would have. But, in all fairness, they're not supposed to sell them.

I was just so close and then shot down. Its like going to the Sprint Store to pick up a phone, thinking youre going to get it and then you're shot down. Theres no other way to complete the analogy because that is literally one of the worse things to possibly happen.

Do what I did and buy a black one. Since they're delayed for some unspecified amount of time, I only refresh 4-6 times a day.

When I was in support and receiving lot of random stuff for folks I found a Windows desktop widget (of all things) that worked really well. You just put in the tracking info and it would show the latest real time info in the widget and you could even click on each delivery and see a map of where the last update had come in and when on the map.
Alas, I ordered from HTC and still have no tracking info.

UPS just left.. no phone! :crying:

Just checked mine and it show's 2nd day air as well, with a scheduled delivery of Monday, 4/22.... WTF. Guess we'll see

From my experiences it's always cheaper at a Sprint Corporate store. Example:I live next to a "sprint" marked store and I was buying a note II and they wanted $799 for it.. I then found my closest sprint corporate location and bought the phone from them for $600..

Did Samsung not make enough Gears?

I placed an order on 10-4 with T-Mobile.com and it's on backorder. I noticed that a lot of places are sold out. Did Samsung not make enough because of unknown demand?

Not sure if they made enough or not but there are some at various stores around where I live. Also T-mobile is supposedly backordered quite heavily due to the massive mistake they made in including the gear in their 30% off accessories coupon. Great promotion for the consumer but no one knows when all of those orders will be fulfilled.

Here in Australia we have the same supply problem, I've had one on back order for the last week at a local electronics shop. Nobody in the country seems to have any, i was hoping to get one for my birthday on the 5th but still waiting.

Yup, they definitely didn't make enough.. I almost did not get my phone upon release cuz all the gear was gone. They said that they can't sell the phone without the gear?? But lucky enough they had one left, the one they were showing to all potential customers lol.

I neglected to say I did purchase one at Best Buy. I used some of my Reward Zone certificates.

From what I can tell, Telstra is the only one with it. A few places I went to didn't even know what I was talking about!
According to ebay, there are a few in other capital cities. And I may have just impulse bought one......oops

I got mine from Vodafone Australia yesterday. Was on back-order and due 23/10, anyway it just pops up.

yeah still no gear here, major bummer wanted to see at least a demo unit

My Best Buy still has like 10-15 of them in stock in Various Colors. I got my manager to price match the T-Mobile price last week for 2 of them (one was for resale and one for me). I guess I got lucky on that. But they are to be found. Any if you want to play with one, any best buy with a Samsung store should have a live demo of a Gear there.

Here in Denver I had to drive all the way across town to get my jet black Gear. Most Best Buys are sold out.

It went up for sale, I ordered it, and then 4 days later it showed up on my doorstep. What's the story?

Why would they fill a blog with the fact that the nexus 5 sold well and are in short supply. It happens with lots of phones. Nothing new here.

This because it depends a lot on where you are and the stock levels as well...
Some people have a great experience but don't necessarily need to go on a forum to shout about it...
For what it's worth, in the UK, I ordered mine on a Thursday afternoon, received it the next day

I don't think it's as big of an issue as you perceive it to be. I think the majority of people who ordered got their phone in a reasonable time. But LG can only crank these things out so fast, once Google's warehouse runs out, some unlucky people are gonna wind up waiting for the next shipload to come in. That's life...

Samsung store at Best Buy

Went into our local Best Buy on Saturday, and was surprised to see a large Samsung area carved out in the front of the store. Nice, clean white display and tables. It was the same size as that stores entire Mobile Phone dept, so pretty good sized. They had all the latest and greatest, of course, and very knowledgeable folks working there. They said they were there full time now. Pretty cool to see. My first hands on with a Gear. I can see it's utility, but doubt I'll get one.
Anyone else have one in their BB stores?

For about a year. My store also has a Google rep for the Google section. A Windows store with Microsoft employees and of course the Apple section. With more to come next year.

Went to Monroe, NY store. They have the Samsung area as well. Pretty nice. Had the Samsung watch in various colors but all dummy. None were real watches.

The lady working the Samsung area at our BB also offered to update/check my S4. I refused since I'm rooted and it was a bit of a battle to get 4.3 installed and solid on my phone.

Mine was rooted also but at the same time I was so excited about the update that I jumped to gun. I tried to find if I needed to take any steps before receiving the update but couldn't find any information. Long story short it took with no problem root was gone but I just rerooted and it was good. The update actually fixed my battery life tremendously. Took 15 min via usb.

We have a Samsung at all the Best Buys here in Wichita, KS. They are really the only reason I ended up going with the S4.

Can confirm..
Almost every Best Buy should have a Samsung Experience Store inside now, with the exception of a very few. The only stores I am aware of without them are the small format stores. Even the Best Buy Mobile stores have a small Samsung vignette now.

dont go to best buy mobile they spent almost 45 minutes trying to get my note 2 to work with the store demo galaxy gear, i guess they hire any ole body at those stores

Seems weird that you would let them try and pair a non compatible device for that long. Assuming you weren't rooted and using a compatibility work around.

[Q] Sprint Store or Order Online?

I've heard a lot about a possible "bad batch" of M8's so I was wondering if those having problems ordered them online or if they go them at store level? I'm about to head to my local store to upgrade so I wanted to make sure I'm not getting a problem phone. Thanks everyone!!!

When you say bad batch, what are the issues that are coming up?...I just upgraded in person at a Sprint store and so far no issues with my phone.

Lol a bad batch rumor??? Oh boy the stuff you hear on the internet lol....

I ordered online last Friday, got my phone Wednesday. Phone is solid, only complaint I have is never receiving shipping confirmation. In fact if I looked at my order now it would say "order processing" .
Thank god for ups my choice was able to have them leave in garage with out signing since I couldn't plan to have the day off.
