Help! Hard Brick? - Verizon LG G2

Hello all,
I just flashed CloudyFa's cloudstock rom with the patched kernel and it booted up.
No radio.
So I go on forum and Micromod777 posted a baseband which should work on it and I do a full wipe, flash cloudy's rom, the kernel and then the baseband
Rebooted and black screen of death.
Just a vibration to confirm that it is booted up
Am I screwed?

Any possible solutions?

Try plugging it into linux and seeing if it'll recognize it? If you don't have adb or downloader mode you're probably screwed...

I don't see why not but if you don't even see the LG logo it's probably hard bricked.

It is. :crying:
Right now it is a brick. I am getting a replacement soon.
But do you know if there are any JTAG/ JIG methods available?

I haven't seen any you could try searching the forums for it, I got hard bricked by freegee a while back so I hope all goes well

These phones usually don't brick too easily. If you can get into download mode then you probably aren't bricked.
Maybe try this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2471370
In the future don't mess with the baseband if you don't know what your doing.
Edit:
If you can't get download mode. There is still a chance but you must use linux.
This guide is for a D8XX so DO NOT USE ANY OF THE FILES LISTED THERE:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142
These should be the files for the VS980 12B, that I quickly just found in the same directory:
http://downloads.codefi.re/autoprime/LG/LG_G2/VS980/Stock_Firmware/12B_Partitions
In theory it should work, but I have not tested it. Use this at your own risk as a last resort!

Here's the post where I saved my vs980 from a brick. Couldn't get to system, recovery, or download. It's likely the same guide Ploxorz just linked.

Just got my first Motorola with this phone, but think I borked it by messing with the radio bands. How does one flash these .xml or .sbf files to restore to original stock?
failed flashing process..unknown fastboot comand
I'm grabbing this for my friend, he can't get the update because he needs Wi-Fi and the phone won't connect to our University's Wi-Fi network. This won't break OTA for him though will it?
It's just as same as if you have applied OTA.
what is the update process?

so what exactly is the update procedure?
Here's what my phone is showing me.
system version: 77.1.7.MB886.ATT.en.US
android version: 4.0.3
Will this update change anything with the bootloader or anything like that?

If you got 4.0.3 we need a copy of your OS before you upgrade. 4.0.3 has vulnerabilities that we need to get root. Sorry I don't know the procedure, but I am sure some dev will be more than willing to tell you.

Just saw this and need to let you know not to do any soft of fastboot or updating without backing up your files. The worry is you flash a retail bootloader and possibly cannot go back if you use these.

yeah, that's why i'm holding out... battery life sucks on the 4.0.3. it barely gets me 8-9 hours with moderate use. i've noticed there are huge drops in the battery level every now and then. i guess i'll just deal with it until we get the root thing sorted out.
is there a way to just mount the system.img.ext4? i've tried ext2explore and i've tried to mount it with Linux Reader. thanks

Help! I think i bricked my Verizon G2

Hello guys!
I wanted to upgrade to Malladus Kitkat 4.4.2. I was on 12b with CWM...So i updated my recovery to TWRP from here ... I followed the steps and still it wouldnt let me install the ROM. Kept saying update failed. So I tried going back to CWM, that update too failed...So I was stuck with TWRP..So i installed 12b and after a while the phone finished everything and rebooted..But it went into a bootloop..I tried going into recovery using power and vol down option...when I got the option to hard reset..i pressed power thrice...usually it would go to the recovery but now the hard reset was done in less than a second and the phone shut down...did this a few times with the same result. My PC (win 8) does not recognize my device since its not yet on..Also it keeps asking me if I want to format my drive. The drivers have been installed etc. I dont know what to do...How do i revive it? Any help will be massively appreciated guys

Nexus 6 Hard Brick - Tried Everything

Hey guys, I was just wondering if anybody could help me with my bricked Nexus. I tried everything in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/general/fix-fix-qhusbbulk-cm12-t3059518 I could not get the blank-flash.bat to work. Here's the error I get when running it: Target ERROR: 7 - Open multi failed, unknown error
FAILED (sdl-transfer-image:send-image:sdl-open-multi:target error)
I attached a picture below of the cmd window.
If anybody could help me get past this error and help my Nexus come back to life, it would be really appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

fastboot is a program that you run on a computer, and you have to be in your bootloader to use it. you have to install it onto your computer, and you have to have the android driver installed as well, or fastboot wont see yoir phone. you cant "flash fastboot back".

[Q] I think i messed up bad

Hello everyone this is my first post on this website i was trying to remove safe strap custom recovery because when i originally unrooted my phone i forgot to uninstall it and i was trying to re root it so that i can uninstall it but i think i messed up my phone really badly i tried to flash the rooted rom
1. Place the G870A_OA1_100%_Stock_Rooted_ROM onto your ext-sdcard.
2. From Safestrap recovery press "Backup" and backup your User Data.
3. From the main menu press "Wipe" then perform an "Advanced Wipe" and wipe everything but your ext-sdcard.
4. Next, press "Install," then select and install the G870A_OA1_100%_Stock_Rooted_ROM.
5. Once complete, press "Restore" and restore your User Data.
6. Last, from the main menu press "Reboot," then "System." Done!
with these instructions but i believe i messed something up as now my phone will not even turn back on am i beyond help?
when i flashed the rom it said that it had worked.
also the reason i did it this way was because odin was not working for me.

Well unfortunately the rom you flashed for the g870a is for the active variant, not the g900a or regular s5.
The kernel and bootloader are incompatible between the two and this is likely caused a hard brick.

I honestly have no clue what you're saying here. I'm not trying to be the grammar police, but there's not a single comma or period in that entire paragraph.
Are you suggesting that you flashed something (with TWRP) when "OEM unlock" was turned off? Then when you reboot the phone nothing happens except immediately seeing "frp lock" in the upper left corner (and nothing else whatsoever?)
Can you power down the phone? (press/hold volume down and power.) If so, after it's powered down, what happens when you try to boot into bootloader/download/odin mode? What steps are you performing to boot into odin mode from a power off state?
Are you able to boot directly into recovery mode from a powered down state? What steps are you performing to boot into recovery from a powered down state? What happens as a result of those steps?
PLEASE use periods, commas and line breaks to help format your message. Help us to help you...

i flashed a custom rom, kernel, and twrp everything worked after that, but somehow i wasnt paying attention and turned off oem unlock before i tried to restart my phone. Now when i try and turn it on or boot into recovery i get to the Samsung logo and it says frp lock in the corner. I am holding power, home, and volume up for recovery. And im holding power, home, and volume down for odin. Once i get into odin everything seems ok, but i cannot flash anything else to it. Sorry about the grammar it was kind of late

First, I don't think I'll be able to help you myself. However, I'm hoping that my questions might prompt enough information that someone else can...
How do you know that you turned off OEM unlock? Are you SURE that OEM lock was turned off?
I did a quick search on your behalf, and came up with some threads that may (or may not) be useful. At the very least, you might be able to pursue the people who posted in those threads to see what resolution they came up with:
This guy seems to have resolved his issue, but didn't mention how:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/s6-edge-plus/help/bricked-frp-lock-help-to-t3209788
This one seems to think that a stock flash with ODIN should recover:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-galaxy-s6-edge-plus/help/frp-lock-t3215940
Here's another one that did a stock ODIN flash to recover:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmo...ompletely-bricked-s6-edge-g925t-help-t3146069
Based on these, I'd try to get my hands on a full SM-N920P ODIN image and use ODIN. It would have to be a real "P" model tar.md5, probably. Sprint might also be able to re-flash an image on there for you.
You mentioned that you tried ODIN and it didn't work. What did you try to flash with ODIN? Was it an actual Sprint ODIN file? With OEM lock, I believe that the ONLY thing you'll be able to flash is a true n920p image...
Edit: I did a quick search on sammobile for your device type, and here's a link to n920p firmware. (Note to Mods: If this link violates any XDA rules, please edit it accordingly, but if possible leave enough information that the OP can get what he/she needs to recover their device.)

Another thought might be to use Samsung's "smart switch" software to do an emergency recovery of the firmware. (I've never used it for that, or anything else, but others have posted that something like this is possible.)

This one seems to think that a stock flash with ODIN should recover:

Here's another one that did a stock ODIN flash to recover:

I posted a link. There's only one image available at that link. If it's zip'd, unzip it to a file with an extension of "tar.md5"
That goes into the "AP" (or "PDA") slot for ODIN.
Now, I'm going to get on my soapbox for a moment:
Don't flash stuff on your phone without knowing ahead of time the steps to get it back to stock, AND having the tools/files needed to do so. If you ignore this "advice", you have only yourself to blame for any troubles. You're lucky that sammobile has a stock firmware file. (You won't find any AT&T variant files there for this phone.) If they didn't have that stock firmware file, you'd be screwed.

I fixed mine by extracting each .img file from the stock ROM, then re-compressed back into a .tar file, then flashed each one individually. I don't know if that's what fixed it but that's what I did.

Well first do you have a software on your computer that has the ability to compress .img files into .tar files? And I would personally recommend having 7zip/WinRAR that way you can actually access the .img files on the stock ROM
