I just saw this breaking news about the Sprint Special Edition Harman/Kardon M8 http://www.androidheadlines.com/201...-kardon-audio-special-edition-htc-one-m8.html, Anyone else know anything about this? I hope this is for real.
That's just not right! Why wouldn't this be the original version to be rolled out. ?
So basically we already have this version in our hands right?

What's this?
I also heard about this from a little birdy like 3 weeks ago.
I was not told that what sprint currently had already has the hardware in it. I was told to wait 2 weeks to get one.

For anyone that wants it, open your default.xml, search for Harman, and change the value to true.
I'm not sure if it's actually working when you toggle the settings since the changes are so subtle.

Same with beats audio... Think its not actually working. Also, when enabled, I don't get audio from stock HTC Music app from BoomSound speakers.

Is this a software thing just like the beats equalizer or is the Sprint hardware actually different from the regular HTC Ones?
I don't get it. Why change the hardware for just one carrier & Sprint at that. Plus I'm surprised this is just coming out. I forget which one but I was running a M8 port on my M7 that had the Harman Kardon setting. Saw it but paid it no mind.

Can't find it in default.xml
Well I just got my phone a few days ago. That would suck if I don't have this or can get it enabled.

It's in /system/customize/ACC/Default.xml.
The speakers kick ass on M8. I wouldn't be surprised if we already had the hardware in myself.

I've made an app that turns on dolby mobile for any app, not just HTC music. It works on any ROM that gives you the option of dolby mobile when you type in snd3254 in a terminal. It requires root.
I'm also working on an update.zip for other phones to use it

Does it just turn one mode on or can it switch between modes? I.e. Headset or Speaker?

All jokes aside, anyone else a little jealous at the amount of development happening on the HTC One thread?
I'm thankful for viperboy, OMJ and the others, but looking over there they already have a handful of kernels to choose from, a bunch of ROMS, and... Maybe I'm just too eager.

Viper has said he is working on a project that would allow those ROMs to be ported/used somehow on sprint devices. That... Would be sweet! Picture the dev scene if ROMs could be installed via aroma and it detects if you're CDMA or gsm.
Kernel source has not been released yet. Once that happens things will take off.
Sent from my HTCONE using xda app-developers app
I know I know... And I did read about the thing Viperboy is working on being able to install other ROMS from other providers and I am really looking forward to that.
I know source hasn't been released either... but STILL, you have to admit it's hard not to look at their forum and go "I wan ALL the things!" right?

You also have to take into account the fact that is the international version which is used in more than one country and also used by some in the US on at&t, tmo, etc.
The only people in this forum are from Sprint which has a much much smaller user base.

They didn't say for Sprint. They said global.. the international One has 4.2.2 already. My take from that rep is that HTC will look in to a possible 4.3 update for the device in general. If it's worth it then they will do it; otherwise, Key Lime Pie w/Sense would be the next update from HTC
Sent from my HTCONE using xda premium
Didn't HTC already release 4.2.2 for the one, but we are just waiting on the update release from Sprint?

The clear text version of that statement is, "Google released a new base and we are probably going to use it for our phones."
Which is something like a no-brainer.

Pretty much. In fact, this is the line that HTC gave a while back when 4.3 was just rolling out. It's pretty boilerplate stuff.

This question is maybe dumb, but I heard the Sprint version of the device actually works great on AT&T, so, may I ask if it's possible make it happens vice-versa and how to do it if possible?
Sadly I don't think this is possible. I don't think the AT&T htc one has support for CDMA. While the sprint htc one works on AT&T it's not a perfect experience because the sprint htc is missing some frequencies that AT&T uses.

I'd still say get an off brand battery pack on Amazon instead of dishing out for any official battery packs. They really shouldn't cost more than $40. Unless you like the design of Mophie/HTC/Motorola's, of course.

Hmm.. I guess I'll have to google it.
I've been using an Anker Slim battery pack which I can slide into my pocket along with the M8.
The HTC battery bar is way too big to be put in my pocket, but if it has QuickCharge, I might not need it in my pocket at all. Makes it a tempting option.
