Those two methods does not work on the SHW-M180S 2.3.6
Any idea on how to it?
I can't find nothing.

[Q] Help me update my samsung GT-S5300

Hi i am new here in xda-developers as well as new in owning an android device.
I have a question and i can't figure out why, so here it is.
Why can't I update my Samsung galaxy pocket GT-S5300 in the settings>about phone>software update, when in the case my Samsung phone informs me that there is a new version and ask me if i would like to update it, and i did try to update it but after it restarts, it's stock to 15% and wont continue updating :crying: :crying:,
BTW i don't really know what it updates, is it the kernell version? the firmware? the android version? or what?
Here's my phone information
-Rooted Phone-
Brand: Samsung
Model number: GT-S5300
Android Version: 2.3.6
Baseband Version: S5300DXLC4
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.7 [email protected] #2

P.S. is my phone's software information out of date for a Samsung GT-S5300?

try update using PC/Laptop with samsung kies. maybe it will help

you can download the latest version of firmware from the samsung website for your device and can flash it via odin. that would be easier. Just remember to not to unplug the device while its flashing else its gonna hard brick your phone.

It's easier to convert your at&t to the unlocked version software wise because at&t updates are hard to come by.
Go grab samfirm download tool then download update for
Model: sm-n960u1
Region: xaa
And then flash that update with odin.

Just download the stock Samsung US OS and install that onto your device

Doesn't matter what is used. The firmware will provision to whatever sim you have
