Hi Folks,
I was notified of a new OTA for my unbranded HTC One today..
(I'll post the version when I get back to what I was running and can see)
My phone was running 3.62.401.1, S-OFF, with CWM and rooted.
I flashed the stock recovery and re-locked my bootloader, then tried applying the OTA.
My phone restarted and I got the expected progress bar as the OTAs applied, but then a picture of an HTC one with red ! and triangle.
If I restart my phone by holding in the power button, I get the following:
htc quietly brilliant logo
green then pink screens with some strange corruption-like lines
htc one logo, with blue beats
the phone stops there
I should be able to unlock, flash CWM and then go back to a backup and all's well. but how could I apply the OTA? I'm keem to give Kitkat a go..
I'm sure I'm missing something simple (again!), any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
TIA,

I didn't realise there was and RUU for it at all yet. Thats better than I was hoping
Thanks a lot.
Do you know what I was doing wrong please? (other than doing it a hard way)

Was the stock recovery a 3.62.401.x version? Bootloader didn't need to be relocked, but not likely the issue.

I don't think they would so fast. If gmkv would like to test for us though, it would be much appreciated. Also perhaps an extract of the radio?

What kind of customizations did you have installed before taking the OTA? Were you S-Off with Revolutionary? Did you have a custom recovery installed? We need more info since this OTA just came out today...

So you have the Revolutionary HBOOT 6.13 installed, correct? That is what is preventing the OTA from installing correctly. You need to reinstall CLockworkMod recovery and restore your backup or install a rooted Rom.
Hi!
I have the same problem, az Hiaken_Ace has, after I updated my phone, I get stucked on the green HTC logo screen.

My phone is S-ON, it is non-rooted, it run Sense 3.0 with Android 2.3.5. I have tried factory reset with SD card, and without is. Any ideas, how could I revive my phone?
OTA kills
I have also the same problem, after I updated my phone, I get stucked on the green HTC logo screen.
There are even more Guys in the android-hilfe.de forum reporting this.
Can someone try tacoroot?

Seriously guys, who told you to install this ota? Unless you receive it on your phone, don't install it.
We need more info from the guys who semi-bricked their phones (stucked on the green HTC logo)
Do you have an unlocked bootloader, do you have HTC drivers and adb / fastboot installed on PC, are you still covered by warranty, did you see any errors when the ota was installing, do you have revolutionary hboot installed, can you or do you know how to enter hboot or recovery, are you rooted and finally do you have stock or custom recovery?
Put it all in one post, maybe we can help.

Ok, I received a notification from the phone, that I can download an update. My phone has/had official ROM, and this was an official update, and I thought, that official updates are secure.

My bootloader is locked. I have adb, and htc drivers, my phone is covered by warranty(but if it is possible, I don't want to use it, because in Hungary I have to pay the post fees, and it takes "a lot of time" to get the phone back).
I was working while my phone was updating, and did not watch the full time my phone, but have not noticed any errors.
My phone was NOT rooted, it has S-ON, and I used official rom, as I said before. And unfortunatelly I do not have any recovery images.
Need some help:
Have a rooted Vivid using Hasoon's Vivid all-in-one kit. After doing this, I went to AT&T to get a new sim that allowed LTE (had to upgrade plan as well). As soon and it was activated, the phone offered and OTA, the AT&T guy clicked on it and now the phone reboots and hand on the HTC screen.
I can get into Hboot, but cannot get into recovery, factory reset, or cache. Just goes back into the HTC white screen. I can get into fastboot USB, but I still have s-on so I cannot make any changes.
Any ideas before I make it tiny pieces with my AK-47?

S-on your device, then flash the ICS RUU. The RUU should be linked in one of the stickies in android dev section.

Woohoo. Thanks for the info. I am now back on stock ICS. Was able to root and will be upgrading to JB soon enough.
Ok, so I used Hasoon's Root kit. But I am having an issue trying to upgrade to Cyanogen. If I boot into the bootloader, I cannot get off the main screen without it failing and having to pull the battery and restart. If I use the Rom manager, it will just hang in the same place (the HTC white screen). I tried to fastboot but the USB does not work or be recognized (PC does not even see it to load drivers). What should I do?
My HTC One gets stuck when updating OTA in recovery. It only completes around 20% and stays there forever and I have to reboot holding power button. I have unrooted and locked my phone to receive OTA update. I am running version 1.29.401.16.And I am receiving the OTA 2.24.401.1. I am not sure I flashed the correct recovery when re locking the boot loader. Any help appreciated.
You can run an ruu from your computer. That way you will know for sure it has the correct recovery and everything in order.

Thank you for the reply. I could not find the RUU for my version. I tried to run RUU_M7_UL_JB_50_HTC_Europe_1.28.401.7_Radio_4A.13.3231.27_10.31.1131.05_release_310878_signed. But it gives me error.
Just advice to OP
If you want to receive the correct answers on questions, as soon as possible, that give to people more information.
at least
1) Bootloader lock/unlock/relock
2) S-OFF S-ON
3) MID/CID
4) ROM version
5) HBOOT version

I did lot of research on google and tried some of the tricks. But nothing worked. Thank you very much for this suggestion. I will try and report back.
My girl has an HTC one and for months it has had an update that will not install. During installation it has a black screen, phone and for a very brief moment a green icon (can't tell it disappears to quickly) before it changes to a red triangle.
Any help at all would be appreciated.
Additional info,
Still on Android 4.1.2 and current software version is 1.29.651.10.
Not rooted bit could be if needed.
Thank you in advance.

... doesnt matter if you are rooted or not. only thing to consider is you bootloader status. if you are s-on and bootloader is unlocked you need to relock the bootloader. and if you are s-off you can RUU even if its locked. go here and download the latest RUU but not before reading instructions because you need to update your hboot to perform this latest RUU and for that you should be s-off ...

Hello all,
I'll start with saying how awesome you all are!
Now that the pleasantries are done I have a damned frustrating problem.
I converted my Bell mobility m7 to a gpe m7, it was great until I got the ota 4.4.3 update and like many others got the screen glitch.
So I searched for a way to get it back to stock.
Here us what I've done, flashed twrp and restored the nandroid backup for my device ( all good here) I then changed the cid back to bm___001, also all good. Now it asks me to update the ota, it downloads and verifies, but when I select install now, it boots into twrp recovery and does nothing.
My bootloader is also Black and not the normal white.
My hboot is at 1.54, I have no idea how to get the stock hth recovery on this thing... I have s-off, it's unlocked.
I can get the var dump and post it when I get to my pc.
I've been looking for a week now and I'm stuck. Any help would be awesome..
Just a side, why is there no RUU for bell mobility ?
OTAs only install with stock recoveries. You need to find the correct stock version for the Rom you are on. There is a post on here with all the recoveries

Why would you try and OTA update a phone with TWRP recovery on it ?
the OTA updates check everything on your phone and can only be used on a totally stock phone with Stock Recovery.
have you tried this >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2529225
The odd thing is the HTC sense Rom checks the update and veryfies it , it starts to install then boots into twrp.
I have hboot 1.54, is that going to be an issue, how do I get to 1.55?
Go Here
Read xda carefully to understand these stuff
from HTC One
Alright I installed the Bell recovery and it works fine. Rebooted phone and it asked again to install ota this time I said install now and watched. Seemed to install fine, but at the very end of the install I got the red triangle. I forced a reboot and I get a blue, then pink screen with boot up sounds, then the HTC logo with blue beats logo and it hangs.
I'll flash twrp back on and restore the nandroid backup I have and restart.
Anyone know why I still have the black bootloader and the Google screen at start up.?
Where Can I get the HTC bootloader?
