S-Health Lite (APK) - Samsung Galaxy Gear

Hi,
Just found a new app called "Fitness With Gear" on Samsung Store and it states in the package name as "S-Health Lite". It can help to sync perfectly all fitness info from Gear 2 or Fit to your device.

This app might also work with non-Galaxy phones too. You can try out to see if it works. (Then there's no more the need of waiting for a properly ported of S-Health for non-Galaxy phones)

Is this some sort of scam. I see no mention of this app on Samsung store. Do you have a link of the actual app in the store?

I got it working on my Galaxy S4. So it should work on your Note 3.

Nah it doesnt work. Every time i open it it asks me to login to my samsung account. When i press on sign in, it won't do anything.-
Edit: I got it to work after uninstalling health service. But then again without that S health wont work XD
But the fitness app seemed to work only once after in uninstalled health service. I checked my pulse on my fit and it didnt update on the fitness app :/

i'm having the same problem as the user above, it shows my account with the "Link" button on the bottom but when you click it, nothing happens, well, actually, it goes to privacy policy but there is no accept button or anything, just back, no top right menu.
if anyone else finds a fix for this, please post here

Hey man are you even reading what I am saying? I cannot log into my samsung account from fitness for gear app. WIth the latest S health update i cannot even log into it there either. Because the damn Healthservice crashes. I have searched and checked out the s5 apps thread for note 3. So far no fix yet. That is why I am asking you how you got it to work. I am running stock rom with basically everything installed. And cannot for my life get this to work. Which Rom are you running? are you on kitkat?

Maybe S-Health is interfering with Fitness For Gear. I uninstalled S-Health and the Health Service and just use Fitness for Gear.

Hi, Thanks for sharing, unfortunately this does not work on my sony z1.
The apk launch well but does not sync with my gear neo, no numbers showing . When clicking on connect to samsung account nothing happens.
I guess we non samsung users will have to wait a little more...
Edit: someone with a g2n fw higher than R381XXU0ANCD should test, as mine does not have sleep tracker which could explain I was not able to sync

Hey. I found out my problem. its the rom i am using. Appareantly if i dont choose Samsung apps etc on aroma installer it breaks the samsung login. I found that out after 3 factory resets lol. After that i did not install the new S health. Instead the one that comes with the phone and fitness with gear. I can sign in and out no problems now. And sync my info. And yes new shealth and healthservices also breaks fitness with gear app.

Congrats on sorting it out!

So we must make a choice between all the functionalities of S Health or the ability to sync Gear with our phone ?
Why ?? ?

I tried this and it worked:
Go to setting > app manager and delete goprovider. Wait for a couple of minutes and allow gear manager to reinstall the apk. Sync your G2 to your mobile phone. Good luck!

FB Quickview updated

I just noticed the FB Quickview app has been updated.
It now has a blue and white icon instead of the previous black and white one.
I still have the same problem as before. The first time you run it, it loads current notifications and messages.
But, then the notifications and messages never update on the watch.
You can have new FB notifications and message on your phone / FB account, but the watch never retrieves them or updates them on the watch app.
The notifications I can see are good. You can see pictures and you can even like posts.
But, I can only see the list that was there a few hours ago when I installed the app. Nothing since then.
Anyone get the app to work properly?
Works fine for me. The old version never displayed anything. The new version does (although seems a little slow at times). Wish it displayed more info though. It's useless showing exactly what Facebook notification show me anyway (which is limited in the same way)
Just updated I havent noticed anything new
Mine never shows anything at all. Nothing under notifications, friend requests, or messages.

THANK YOU!!!! Works great!
Don't like the way this app needs to use accessability in order to push notifications. Turning this on usually screws other features up such as air view and causes stupid announcements like scan finished when turning wifi on.

AND...when you enable FBQuickview Accessibility the stock browser gives you an annoying play by play of everything it's doing..."page loading"..."page loaded". I'm pretty sure that to receive notifications you have to enable this. So after finding this out I decided that having the freedom to use the stock browser (because sometimes it's the one that I wish to use) without the play by play was more important to me than having this crappy app so I uninstalled it. Well, almost...now I have FBQuickview category stuck in my notification archives because it had received them. Because I uninstalled the app the actual notifications are gone, but the category is still there. I am currently trying different ways to get that to go away but I may just have to reset the Gear and re-set it all up again. Sure, it's not THAT big of a deal to have this legacy category there, but it just bugs me. And I'll never get the 45 minutes of my life back discovering that FBQuickview Accessibility was the culprit of the sudden an mysterious verbal browser feedback.
If I am wrong about needing to enable FBQ Accessibility and or if anyone knows what I can do to make that damn FBQ notification category go away...please let me know.
Isn't this app a bit redundant now that GM pushes all notifications to the watch?

Yeah, I think so...but I thought that it gave more info than the stock notification. Maybe I'm wrong. I was just so desperate to find any app that is worthwhile for the Gear. Pretty slim pickins so far. I'm really anxious for more development.
App has been updated. It now uses notification access rather than accessibility
Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
I just installed it again.
It still has the same problem where it loads all notifications the first time you run it, but after that the notifications and messages never get updated on the Gear.
In the phone, the app seems in gear manager still say that the security settings needs to be ticked.

Hello! new here..
This app has worked pretty well so far, but today i rooted my Galaxy Gear and installed Nova Launcher.. now this app no longer pushes new notifications to the gear.. i have no idea what has happened, i uninstalled and re-installed the app, but at best all i can have it do is that initial load up of the latest notifications, messages or friend requests... but it does not push anything new. that happens. basically get the same as richlum above here by the sound of it.. i first thought it may be some issue with Nova Launcher, but i get the same with the stock launcher as well..

More Notifications option hangs Gear Manager

I've just downloaded the latest update of the Gear Manager. Touching the more notification panel hangs the app and I can't access the apps that I want to be notified with.
Has anyone experienced this issue with the latest update (27th Dec) of the Gear Manager?

so I woke up this morning all happy about the latest Gear Manager update and the fact that going into notifications and selecting more notifications showed the texting app I use Textra. Selected it and tested and sure enough it worked just fine, now that part happened on the 26th. Back to this morning (27th) and there is another update version 1.5.121601 and without asking me the little beastie proceeded to update. We all know the routine, after the update comes the restore question I answered 'yes' finished. Went into gear manager (yes the watch did update) and selected Notification > More Notifications, and that where the program hangs. After about 2min it came up with an informational prompt "Gear Manager isn't responding. Do you wish to close it?" selections were Wait and OK. choosing Wait gets a 2min wait time and then the same message, OK closes out the program and then restarts it.
I have,
set everything back to factory resulting in same result
reset the watch and the note 3 resulting in same result
uninstalled/reinstalled Gear Manager same result
any ideas or is there a way to roll-back to the previous version
thanks for reading

I'd like to thank Jeremy for all his help in providing the previous version which works perfectly and solved the problem
I don't know how others can uninstall and then reinstall Gear Manager and then connect your gear as reinstalling gear manager requires linking the watch at the same time, so that totally didn't work before and it still didn't work on a retry.
this post was all about "More Notifications" not opening/hanging
Again, thanks Jeremy for the fix! :good:

As you are a senior member I just want to be sure we are on the same page the new update that was released as of 12/27 is version 1.5.121601. The previous version was 1.5.120903.
FOR YOUR INFORMATION: Samsung has acknowledged that 1.5.121601 has an issue, there will be and update.
Confirm, I am indeed on 1.5.121601 and my "more notifications" launches just fine with no hangups, and my gear gets more notifications than you can shake a stick at!

not solving our problem
Not trying to be a jerk here but I guess my only reply and I don't want to speak for everyone else, would be I fail to see how your device working solves our problem. And now with the rollback everything is working as intended. In a discussion with Samsung Tech support they have acknowledged that there is a bug in the 1.5.121601 version. Additionally I cannot even update to 1.5.121601 as we speak
Thanks for showing us all that yours works, but that didn't solve our problem, nuff said.
The version of 27 December 1.5.121601 with the original ROM on my SAMSUNG NOTE 3 DOES NOT WORK, or other notifications do not work better ...
Perhaps, with CUSTOM ROM or earlier to my J7, the GEAR MANAGER might work, but it is absolutely certain that in the configuration described above DOES NOT WORK as it should ... sorry for my bad English ...
Thank you!
I spent an hour on the phone with Samsung Tech Support yesterday, tried everything up to the uninstall/reinstall/reset gear and nothing worked.
Installed the apk for the previous version (Thanks Jeremy!!) and everything is working again!
The phone tried to make me update back to the more recent version but I tapped Cancel and so far so good.
To clarify, I have X-Note 7 on my Note 3, and I'm running null_16 on my watch. Perhaps there are software issues with whatever combination of phone/watch configuration you have.
Perhaps it would be best if we post our device information when discussing software issues, seeing as there is an infinite number of combinations that could affect functionality.
I think we have a rare and unusual situation with our gear. Normally when troubleshooting problems with software, we're all on the same page because we're all using the same device. But the gear brings a new element to the table because it adds a second piece of connected hardware into the mix.
We cannot assume anymore that the other individual has the same phone. I mean, even though gear manager is designed specifically for the Note 3 and S4, people are figuring out every day how to connect it to new devices.
So again, with my Note 3 running X-Note 7 and my watch running null_16, the latest update to gear manager works flawlessly. I'm sorry yours does not.

I'm thoroughly confused. Everything was working fine between Note 3/gear yesterday but unfortunately I accepted an update this morning. All my notifications stopped. I saw this thread so I attempted to reinstall the older version CORRECTION 1.5.120601. That went as planned although I was uncomfortable that I could remove all instances of the gear app mamanger. I did not accept the restore option and did a clean install and I turned automatic updates off.
I should mention at one time ( a few weeks back) this gear was rooted but I returned to factory status installing software version UAMK7.
So I'm running the older version but I'm still not getting any notifications. I do receive incoming call alerts. I'm thoroughly perplexed and would appreciate any advice
UPDATE: Just noticed if I toggle the main Notifications on to off and back on again, notifications arrive on the gear.

Well this is my first app for the Gear. It is pretty self explanatory, it will launch Tasker tasks on your device directly from your watch. I recently got a Gear after my Sony SW2 broke and while the Gear is much nicer to look at I found the lack of apps disheartening. The Tasker app was what I missed the most so I thought I'd start here!
The development for this app has stopped due to hardware changes. Support for the existing version can be gotten from this thread, but no further updates will be made. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Please read the installation instruction carefully and check the FAQ before asking asking for help.
Any and all feedback is welcome!

View tasks by project.
Root not required.
Displays a favourites menu for quick access.
Launch tasks on the host through an intent (From the Gear or Host).

Installation
Make sure you have Tasker installed on your phone and "External Access" is enabled.

FAQs
Q: Does this app support the null_ rom?
A: Yes, though this is only possible thanks to fOmey for his help testing.
Q: Does this app require root/null_ to work?
A: No, there is no special requirement for this app.
Q: How do I turn on "Enable Access" in Tasker?
A: Open Tasker and press the Menu Button. Go to Preferences, then the UI tab. Check the box that says "External Access". Make sure to close Tasker so that the settings are saved.
Q: How do I enable "Unknown Sources" on my Gear?
A: Open the Gear Manager and tap on Settings. Scroll the the bottom (under Security) and make sure the box "Unknown Sources" is checked.
Q: I can't get X to work in Tasker. / How do I do X with TasGear?
A: There are plenty of tutorials around for Tasker, but unless it is a specific problem with TasGear then I ask that you refrain from posting your question here. This thread was set up to give examples of how Tasker/TasGear can be used.
Q: I can't see the notification on my phone/tablet! / I can't see the TasGear app on my Gear!
A: Make sure you install the app on your phone/tablet and not your Gear. You don't need to side load this app
Q: I have X problem, how do I fix it?
A: Make sure you have correctly installed the app by following the installation instructions and the notification on your phone/tablet says connected. Try restarting both devices and checking External Access is enabled in Tasker.
Q: Can I start a task on the Gear by sending a message from the host?
A: No. I am not running null on my Gear and therefore have no way to test Tasker interaction on the Gear. If this changes I'll let you know!
Q: Can I install TasGear on a non-Samsung device?
A: Maybe! You will need to install Gear Manager first! You can follow this tutorial to get it set up. Skip steps 10 to 12, the notification app no longer exists. This is a good alternative. Thanks to @technologicrepair and @Brendo for the research in to this.
Q: Can TasGear create widgets on the Gear?
A: No. The stock version of the Gear's firmware does not support widgets. If you have null rom you can use Tasker to pass information through TasGear to your phone though. See the examples thread to find out how to do this.
The app starts on the GG and sits there with a locked up busy indicator...
Restarting the GG doesn't help
It worked on mine, stock GG, cm11 on my T-Mobile GS4.

Hey Radimus, What device do you have? Is it rooted? Is your GG rooted? Any sideloaded apps?
I'm afraid I haven't had an opportunity to test on other devices/conditions, I'd love some additional info.
The loading indicator appears when it is retrieving the task data from your device (which is a good sign as it means the connection was successful )

Thanks for the feedback. I don't think I have access to a Note 3, though I may be able to grab some data from the one at work.
For now I'll make a note of it in the thread and get back to you asap.

I think I may have fixed the problem! If this fixes it then I can only apologise... regardless it was terrible QA on my part, haha.
Grab the new version if you can, but the problem should go away if you enable External Access in Tasker (You can find it under Preferences > Misc > Allow External Access).
Thanks for the prompt feedback

As far as I'm aware the only way to add a shortcut to the Gear's main pages is through the Gear Manager on your device.
Gear Manager > My Apps > Favourites (Tab) > + (Button at top) > Tick TasGear

Hey Jeshter, I'm gonna need more information. The previous loading problem was due to "External Access" not being enabled in Tasker. This should no longer cause a crash, so you must have a different problem
Can you tell me what device you are using, if you have modified your device (root or custom firmware) and if you have modified your Gear (root or custom firmware).
Thanks!

Okay, have you modified the Gear in any way?
So you have Tasker installed and set up. You will need to run it at least once and enable "External Access". Make a task just so you have something to see on the watch, it doesn't matter what it does for now.
Reinstall the TasGear app afterwards just to be sure. Then restart both the phone and the watch.
See if that helps Remember to wait for your watch to reconnect to the phone before starting TasGear.

Does S Health work or NOT work with the watch

Okay, first of all, I'm coming from the Gear 1 to the Gear 2 Neo, and I loved S Health. It appears not to work with my Gear 2 Neo. I have not deleted the Gear 1 stuff off my phone or Gear Manager. I have tried to search this forum and Google, but I can't seem to get a definitive answer as to whether or not the S Health app is compatible. I don't like the look and feel of the Fitness with Gear app. Doesn't seem as robust as S Health. The S5 uses v3.0 and my S4 is stuck on v2.5.5. I guess I'll have to wait until I upgrade to the S5 (that's if they release a rumored S5 prime).

I have an S4 with the latest S Health and it does not work. More annoying is the steps differ by a large margin (1000 steps) from watch to phone !!!
What the hell is the point of having a fitness watch app that does not even sync or work with your device.
so I got it working with my Note 3.
I uninstalled the old S Health, downloaded a copy of S5's S Health and Health Services.
Rebooted my Note 3, installed both S Health and Health Services.
Then I went to the S Heath's Pedometer app.
Press "Menu Button"
Clicked "Device data to view" and selected Gear Neo
I supposedly have a copy of the S5 baked in with the ROM I'm running and still can't get it to work. I don't have this selection you have.

S-Health 3.0 works with the New NEO, but you can't access your old data.
At least I could not! . . . I found that S Health 2.5/2.6 did not work with the NEO. And the Samsung Fitness app is terrible.
SO I installed the Galaxy S5's S-Health (3.0). That worked on my phone and with my Neo (I have a Samsung S4, I337).
However. With the S-Health 3.0 app, there is no option to restore data. So all of my old S Health Data --months and months of it from just using the S4, is NOT available on the new S Health. All my records now are just since I installed S-Health 3.0. I can't bring my old records forward.
When/if I reinstall the "old" S Health --my old file data can be downloaded via my Samsung account. But that is not an option in S Health 3.0. (If someone does know how to do this --could you please let me know!)
I've attached screenshots on the step by step on how to get it to work.
I hope you guys can get it to work.

I found it by searching XDA and found one dated 4/27/14 along with HealthService apk, both for the S5. I turned off (essentially uninstalled) S Health on my S4 and installed first the healthservice apk then S health and after setting the pedometer to track my device, it is working beautifully.

Exactly, on the S4, I could only turn off the old one, which essentially uninstalls it. I am rocking version 3.1 with my Gear 2 Neo and loving it. Glad I decided to risk it.
I just want to say that ofc it is just going to work with the S5s S-health to begin with, samsung wants to sell their new phone and not the S4 or S3. I am sure that when sale pan out abit we will see S-health 3.0 on S4 also.
Tho i do agree its anoying to not be able to get the steps and calories synced between fitness and health.

I found after doing this three times (due to reflashing my S4), that if you install the Service APK and then the SHealth 3.0 APK, as you go through the intial setup it asks to update SHealth (think to 3.1), then you get the extra sync menu (i.e. which data to view).
If you get it wrong the update to 3.1 does not occur and it does not sync.
Saying that the 3rd time around it works fine and is supposedly syncing with my Neo, but my Neo is showing 1400 steps, the S4 is showing 400 steps, its sync's fine but the data is wrong.
I do not know why the option does not exist to just make your phone the master, as in reality a phone in the pocket near the waist will give a more accurate step reading that a watch that is constantly waving as you move your hand.
I have the 3.1 apk and it works well, but if you soft reset (reboot) your phone, it will erase everything in S Health and ask you to set it up again. Anyone else who has got it working on their S4 found this too?
Yep same issue, in the end I went back to the standard size health on my S4.
I got an update for it today, it recognises the S4 and fitness syncs but only the HRM not steps ???

Yesterday i got an update to both Fitness with Gear and S-Health (original one for S4) and it now say "Connected to fitness with gear" on the main menu in S-Health, my steps still differ between the clock and the phone (fitness vs S-Health) but atleast it seems that there are some syncing between the two apps.
As I said, both apps are the ones intended for the S4. (version 2.5.5.051 for S-Health and version 1.3.01.0521 for Fitness with gear)

Same for me. I have both the apps updated to the same versions, and still S Health cannot sync with Gear 2 Neo. Anyway, the only news is that S Health currently shows my Gear Neo within the connected stuff, but if I try to push the configuration button S Health totally stops working and resets, while synchronization is never possible. Samsung developers really suck (or simply they are pushing us towards the S5, and I do not like this at all).

S Health issue...

Hi
Since I update my GG1 to Tizen, it doesn't sync its podometer with S Health anymore... When I try manually, S Health claim that there is a sync error...
It seems that Samsung updated GG1 to Tizen in order to said that they update even their "old" products, without however improve the compatibility...
Damn Samsung... What are you doing ???

I have exactly the same problem. Just some new additional fitnes programm was installed (it is connected with the old one somehow) and that's all, I alwas just recieve connection error message. Also Watch Styler doesn't work anymore.. I wish I could go back to Android till it is solved.
I will also go back to Android if Samsung can't make a correct compatibility between GG1, Tizen and the phone...
The only problem is that we cannot go back to Android from Tizen...
You must use fitness with gear app now.

Same problem here.
In Gear Manager, I go to Fitness>Menu>Sync Now and it says "Sync Complete"
Then, I go into S Health > Settings > My accessories
It says my Gear is connected
I tap on the sync icon
It says "Syncing" for about 10 seconds, then says "Failed to sync. Try again."
Kind of makes the fitness apps on the Gear useless if the data can't be imported into S Health.

Just as an update to this...
I had to do a factory reset on my Note 3 yesterday and now S Health syncs with the Gear ok. I don't really use s health, so it didn't bother me before. But, I just tried it and it's syncing now.
I'm having the same issue. Tried uninstalling/reinstalling Fitness with Gear, no luck. If I go into S Health -> Settings -> My Accessories, I see my Gear 2 as "connected" but clicking its "sync" button also fails.
