Charging my SGS becomes impossible now after 4 years. Although ist shows the charging symbol, my device doesn't charge the battery. Can anybody explain the following screenshot? I run nightly cm11 from pawtip in the most recent nightly...

Most probably a hardware issue. You might want to get it to the nearest Samsung Service Center and get the USB Port (or whatever you call it) replaced
I tried to fix the USB port. I teared down my mobile until I got the USB port in my hands and put the pcb under my microscope. I saw a corroded connection from the port to the motherboard. But I don't have a proper solder unit to repair that. So I tried with my big fat soldering iron....and killed one connection. I managed to repair that, so I have the same faulty mobile as before. My next try will be a wireless charging mod (with parts from a palm mobile).
But I bought a spare I9000 already for 50 Euros......

Phone out of warranty a month ago.. now cable only works when tilted left, moving right results in disconnect and stopping of charge.
So...
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Lot-10-L...ltDomain_0&hash=item19d199273b#ht_2835wt_1163
Found this, but 10x of them is too many, and $40 is too much.
Anyone know where I can get just one usb port, and how hard it is to install?? Does it require soldering? (I can do it but I'm not very good!) or does it just slot in or something?

The layout of the pins almost looks like it's a plug and play sorta thing.. or maybe they solder onto motherboard, idk, anyone got a tear down manual or service manual of the Optimus 2X?
Thanks.. Or if you had the same issue and found a fix for it please post that too I've tried cleaning with a toothbrush.
Edit: Tried that cable on my Nexus 7 and it did the same thing! might not have to repair phone, ill update when I find another cable.
Ok this happened when I unplugged the cable..
PHONE IS FINE, disregard lol.
I looked on ebay.com for usb port optimus 2x and find this http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-USB-Cha...675?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f1a465583 just 3USD :/ or this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/Replacement...083950?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item5d3475a5ee its from USA so I think it will arrive faster.
I found the cable that came with the optimus 2x box kinda tight, you need to pull quite hard to unplug the cable from the charging port,
to avoid damaging my optimus 2x charging port
I use my sony ericsson x10 mini's charger cable instead, much better and smooth unplug :good:
Hello, new here!
Always been stalking around here, decided to finally give in and ask for some help.
(edit; I think this should be relocated to the troubleshooting section, sorry!)
Long story short, I received this tablet because it was broken and no longer turned on.
Ordered a new mainboard and it was still dead.
The battery will not charge with the new mainboard, but will with the old one.
A charged battery will not turn on the old mainboard, but will with the new one.
Here is how I am currently charging it:

The old board is lying ontop of a plastic bag that is ontop of the new board.
Only the battery connector and USB are attached to the old one.
As you can see, it is drawing about 0.41A.
After a while of charging via the old board, I hookup the new board again.
It works, but it slowly drains back down to zero even while plugged in.
It only draws 0.07A in that state.
I tried a new battery as well, but that didn't help.
I have no idea what could be wrong with it, besides getting another dud mainboard.
About ready to give up, but I have invested so much time into this, it would be a shame to do that.
Any ideas about the mystery of why it isn't charging at any descent rate with the new board?
I have tried countless different chargers, the cable and connectors seem fine.
Shameless bump?
Hi, I've got a problem with my S3 LTE. I have changed full set in my phone. Connected it to the motherboard and there is a problem with touch sreen. Once it works, then it suddenly stops and doesn't work. I tried to change ROM, I have contacted seller of set, because thought that is faulty. He sent me a new one and it is the same problem. When he got the package with that first one, he wrote to me that it works perfectly with his phone. After few weeks with this problem I saw something new today. At the time, when I'm pressing motherboard in red selected area, touch screen works! It is not about the LCD flex, because when try to push this flex it doesn't help me. It works always when I press here, like on image. What is an issue? What could I do? (sorry for my English, it is not perfect)
Here on this picture it is i9300 but it's the same place as in my i9305.

It seems that it is problem with cold solder joint on motherboard, that is my opinion. When I heated it by hot air in 100° C for a minute touch worked for a few hours. Is it possible to repair? What should I do?

Anybody got any ideas?
My Samsung Galaxy S Advance (GT-I9070) suddenly auto shutdown whenever i turn it on. I have tried flashing stock firmware using Odin but it didn't helped. Seems like the only thing i can do is booting phone in the download mode. And as i already told, i flashed stock firmware but nothing happened and it's still performing the same as before.
I hope you people understood the problem clearly. However, if you need any further information, please ask and i will answer you.
Regards
Does it work when plugged into a charger? The battery might be failing as it's probably old already.

When i plug it into a charger, it auto restarts (restart loop).
It also happened to me. The way, I repaired this, is a connnecting a external battery charger e.g.

You mean, all i have to do is charging the battery 100% in an external charger?

how can i flash and unbrick it?
please help...
musicmate said:
As far as you described the circumstances, there is no Option to Unbrick it.
But Why?
Except from the Recovery Mode there is the Download Mode to Flash Software/Tools (e.g. Bootloader, Recovery, ROM):
-> One Option ist to access the I9300 via Download Mode and ADB/Odin, but without a working USB-Port... .
-> Another Option is to access via Wireless-ADB (Network-IP-based ADB), but to activate it, you'll have to get into the ROM's Settings (Developers-Options). Therefore you'll need an working ROM, which didn't seem so... .
-> Last possible Solution: Get in touch with Microelectronics and solder a new Micro USB Port to your Phone.
Otherwise you'll now have new opportunities to use your I9300 as:
Decorative Night Light/ Paperweight/ Doorstopper...
(Annotation: The Battery Charging Dock won't help, 'cause it's construed for standalone loading accumulators.)
