I'm not sure if this is the correct PIT file. It came with the root package for our 3g tabs, though, I think this is pretty much universal. Just remove the .zip extension on the file.

I have read through all the tutorial materials in the stickies, and I have already rooted my phone successfully. I have just downloaded the official firmware off the samsung firmware website. However, there's only one I9000ZSJG4.tar file inside. I am assuming that this is the pda file. Then where are the modem and CSC files?
it's included inside. don't worry, just flash it as pda.
Wow. That was fast.
Thank you so much! I love you
just throw in the PIT file and PDA file, flash as usual!
I upgraded to the latest version of froyo jpk without bavking up anything, is it possible for me to downgrade back to official 2.1? thanks in advance .

I know that's definitely wrong!
Phone = Modem - I know that!
And where's your PDA?
There's plenty of guides on this forum for flashing with Odin - just have a look in the main Dev threads - there's an Uber thread in there that explains literally everything...

LOL, dont wasnt any help
Hi,
the CODE file should be put to PDA,
MODEM is Phone, pit file is obvious..
Also you should flash a CSC File (which you put to CSC ) depending on your country or any Multi-CSC! Just use the search.
i downloaded I9000UGJH2 FROM
http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-i9000.htm
AND THEN ALSO
Galaxy S / .PIT File: DOWNLOAD. (512) FROM THE SAME SITE
LOADED Odin3 v1.3
CHECKED RE-PARTITION
MOUNTED BY PIT
s1_odin_20100512.pit
MOUNTED BY PDA
I9000UGJH2-PDA-Kernel-Bootloader-CL490514-Low.tar
CLICKED START AND IT DID EVERYTHING ELSE
now my phone is stock and works just like new
thanks guys, worked a treat
Hi guys, just purchased a new SGS from the store, it is still on Froyo though, I wish to upgrade it to GB with Odin, and I've finished downloaded XXJVT firmware from
http://www.sammobile.com/showthread.php?t=17
after I extract them, I got these:
CODE_I9000XXJVT_CL617736_REV03_user_low_ship.tar.md5
GT-I9000-CSC-MULTI-OXAJVT.tar.md5
MODEM_I9000XXJVT_REV_00_CL1064602.tar.md5
GT-I9000-CSC-HOME-MULTI-OXAJVT.tar.md5
s1_odin_20100512.pit
I know that PIT file is for PIT slot, user_low_ship is for PDA, Modem is for Phone slot, but as you can see there, there are 2 CSC files, CSC Multi and CSC Home-Multi, which one should I choose? and is there any extra steps before I flash them with Odin? any help is appreciated!
In upgrading firmware from Froyo to GB you need to upgrade bootloader as well. But before that, check whether your phone can enter "download mode" or not.
If can, then find gingerbread bootloader. You can search it here in XDA, or you can search [Ramad] stock ROM. He always provide the package that include bootloader. I'm not sure about the above firmware.
I read it somewhere that the bootloader is already included in GB, isnt it?

Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone would happen to know how to restore a .tar file that I downloaded from sammobile.com/firmware/ . I got it in the hopes it would have a seperate PDA, CSC etc. files so I could restore using Odin put I have to admit I was stumped when I just got one .tar file. The file in question is Optus' 2.3.3 firmware and is called 'jvn_jv5_jv1.tar' if it's any help. The files inside the tar are:
-zImage
-param.lfs
-cache.rfs
-factoryfs.rfs
-boot.bin
-modem.bin
-Sbl.bin
Thanks.
Not 100% certain on this so perhaps wait for a confirmation but I think that if you only have one tar file you put it in the PDA and flash it.

+1
Can totally confirm this!!
But if you want further confirmation there are instructions on sammobile.com
It's an easier way to flash as its only one file and less people can get the files mixed up. (It still has the kernal and modem inside it)
Edit: Just check and it seems to be missing dbdata.rfs Did you miss that out. If its not there then do another download and see if it is. If not then im sure it'll be fine..
Hello
Here's the story
I have a note 5 n920c my original csc code was mid (iraq)
I installed the ( MinotaurusRom V10 ) rom
I didnt have issues with it but i wanted to go back to stock
So i did that but the issue is i now have the (xsg) country code (united Arab Emirates)
And i tried all kind of roms
Is there a way to get back my original csc code .
""( Smart switch doesn't work for my phone .. it says . N920c doesnt support initialization)""
Thanks .:crying:
You can factory restore using Kies, instead of Smart Switch.
Do an Emergency Firmware restore. That will make everything as factory.

Follow this guide. https://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/general/how-to-csc-stock-rom-base-t3135511/page4
You'll have to edit the zip to fit your country's CSC code manually, but this is probably the best method to change CSC without wiping your internal storage. It's what I do whenever I flash a custom ROM that changes my CSC.
Do note that you have to flash the zip DIRECTLY after a clean flash of the custom ROM or else the CSC will not change. Or you could flash the zip and then do a factory reset in twrp (or is it the other way around? I can remember. Just experiment around it.)
Good luck
Edit: or if you do want to wipe your internal storage along, you could download the PhoneInfo app from play store and change your CSC from there.
Edit 2: from my personal experience, for some reason the default CSC in the N9208 Malaysia XME stock ROM is the Philippines CSC. So what I did was I went inside XME folder which is inside the CSC folder which is inside the zip file, and copied all the files there and replaced the files in /CSC (basically outside of the XME folder). If the same thing happens to you this may help as well. Also check the .xml file and make sure that it shows the right CSC for you.
Edit 3: also this belongs in the Q&A forum, mods please move this.

The one file as in the .tar.md5 file? If so rename it to .tar, then you can extract the files inside. After that follow the link I gave to extract the cache.img which contains the CSC folder.

Uhh, you'll have to do some research on that as I don't have any experience in tarballing stock ROMs. I've seen some guides somewhere to tarball stock ROM.
