Landscape home screen. - Sprint HTC One (M8)

One of my biggest pet peeves with Sense is the lack of ability to have the home screen be in landscape mode. I know phones in the past worked in landscape mode but only in a car dock with car App closed. I have allway's found a rom that had "Rosie Landscape?" using Bad Seed 2.0 right now love it except for that.
Is there a fix? I remember back for my old phones they had add-on package with this kind of options.
I do not want to get rid of sense as a launcher.
Any idea?

Works great for me.

Today I dropped down my HTC M8 and because it was dirty I washed it, attar that it starts to rotate the home screen. Also it had some another strange behaviors (open some apps, start to ring without incoming call) but when it became dry everything run normal.
My M8 phone is rooted but with original rom. I only rooted it to get rid of ads.
So I thing there is setting for that and I want to find it

There is a setting you can enable in the system database.
open an adb shell and run:
/system/xbin/sqlite3 /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db
Then you can enter to
Read value:
select value from 'system' where name = 'tweaks_support_landscape';
Change value:
update system SET value=1 where name='tweaks_support_landscape';
Add value:
INSERT INTO "system" VALUES(NULL,'tweaks_support_landscape','1');
exit sqlite with .quit

[Q] Keep losing home screen layout, Sprint ID appears to be the culprit

The problem is I don't see Sprint ID as an actual app, so I'm not sure how to get into it. I spent a good amount of time arranging my home screens (panels), widgets, folders, apps, shortcuts, etc. Out of the blue everything with the home screen got reset to the factory default. I'm pretty sure Sprint is the culprit. I'm wondering if there's a way to disable Sprint ID so this wont happen anymore.
Thanks in advance.

You won't find Sprint ID on the phone. I found it to be odd as well. I checked the website, and it's not even a Sprint ID supported phone. I think they only reason why it was there in the first place was to brand the phone after activation. Then it just goes away.
Nope. Mind did it twice. Once upon activation. Once after I had things set up.

I believe it happens if you disable the sprint apps. Once you do that, it redownloads them and messes up the home screen.

Yea me too. I change my home screen and sprint keeps changing it back. Any cure?

Sprint ID is already removed from Viper's ROM. It's listed as "id.apk". I would assume that it's under /system/app.

No problems here.. is data working properly and also location services?
also if you press power and then home button you can take a screenshot

The setup for the TV App has become corrupted (nobody here can tell you why)
You can go into Apps-> Sense TV (& TV) -> Force Stop & Clear Data
Reboot and try again
I get that first error message also. Don't know what's going on everything else works.

Turn off htc one backlights

Hey so the back lights for the home and back button work great but is there a way to turn them off? For example it can get annoying when watching movies /TV on my phone in a dark room.

Here an app that does it. I have used it before they built in button tweaks to my rom.

Hey thanks for the suggestion man sadly I'm not rooted yet though :/ I guess I'll just have to root my phone in the future in order to do it. I was just curious if there was another way
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
Hi,
Once you're root, you're good to go, no need for an app: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2353520 , do not mind the title, I explain how set the capacitive button always off...
I hope this will help you
I any case without root I'm pretty sure you can't achieve what you want (with an app or a script, the mod / app modifies a system file...).

[Q] New HTC One

Just received my HTC One today through Best Buy and I am loving it so far but I have some questions:
1. The box didnt include a SIM card removal tool for some reason. Should it be included and if so, should i go to Best Buy and get it? I doubt I'll ever need it.
2. Is there haptic feedback on the phone? I have vibrate on screen touch and keyboard checked but it doesn't vibrate. It vibrated once or twice while I was typing but that's it. And it has never vibrated when pressing either back or home. My battery was about 30% so maybe the power saver has something to do with it?
3. When I'm in the camera, the screen gets really bright. Is that supposed to happen? I'm running on about 25% brightness on the phone but when I get into the camera app, it goes up and when I exit, it goes back to 25%.
4. Is there a way I can restore my apps with data from my E4GT to my One without rooting the One? I read that MyBackUp pro does the trick but can anyone confirm? My E4GT is rooted by the way.I want to bring my games with data (like how much money I have in the game) or my Colornote notes over to the One.
Thanks!
1. You don't need a sim removal tool because there is no reason to remove it.
2. There is haptic feedback, and if the power saver is on then that is why.
Not sure about 3 & 4
4. Helium should do the job for a non rooted device. It's in the play store.

The screen is supposed to go full brightness when u launch the camera app. It's defaulted like this so u can see a accurate preview of the photo u are about to take

[HOW TO] Enable Navigation/Softkey bar

Hey yall. After trying many methods of enable the soft keys which i really like my self, i finaly found out whats messing it up.
in /system in build.prop there is a bit of code which looks like that in the screenshot. my problem was i kept adding code when i simply needed to change the existing code to 0 instead of 1. as shown in the screenshot
also as you can see they work in the xda app. but the buttons dont work in any other app.
anyone know why? i tried changing resolution in build prop and nothing. so i need some help.
So again. My problem is that i cant get the nav bar to work all the time.
Okay um. Attempted to change DPI in build prop. It did work and change DPI but softkeys still only work on the xda app.
I'm thinking maybe disabling hw capatative buttons will fix the problem.
Sent from my HTC first using xda app-developers app
Attempted using gravity box with xposed installer but nothing that way.
Sent from my HTC first using xda app-developers app
Attempted to turn off hw buttons. That didnt work either
Sent from my HTC first using xda app-developers app
Attempted to add a persist code to the soft key
Persist.qemu.he.mainkeys=0
That didn't help

after doing some research, all i figured out was that i would have to decompile and modify the framework-res.apk...
even though i have experience with making apps, i get so lost in google's apps since they arent compiled with classes, its all pure xml and all of it doesnt make sense, so if anyone could, please, figure out what to do in the framework res, to make the nav bar work better, id be very grateful
you can find it at /system/framework
thanks
Well nice find so far! I really like the idea of on screen soft keys but what other use would it have that we can't get from the 3 hardware one's we've got? Does the screen feel crowded, because I imagine that with the thickness of them it'd be pretty cramped

Well you could give it a go and see what its like when running the xda app. Unless it works normal.
Um..screen isn't really crowded. Its about two status bars thick. Uses? Um...I know it has a recent app button. And if you're using a keyboard it will give you the option to minimize it. Other than that its just a nexus feel. And once you enable it you can use apps or xposed installer to have them minimized and you can toggle them like a status bar when ever you need it.

Well an odexed ROM basically prevents any modifications to the firmware or any major graphic ui change but in turn opens apps faster so I'm guessing that's the problem
That could be the problem.
Stock ROM works really well on my device so I'm not changing it till we get cm.
But I'm just wondering why it won't let the nav bar be persistent, even though I addad a persist command to it. And only works on the xda app
Sent from my HTC first using xda app-developers app
I think I figured out the problem. The framework-res.apk manages the overall layout of android, I just need to figure out which if the 600 xml files does that and give the nav bar a bottom margin.

Major find or not I've found out that the app also works with wordrefernce.com it's an old app. I found out today in French class lol but for some reason the on screen soft keys don't work with the premium xda app. Also I should say that there seems to be a 1 second lag when pressing the on screen keys. Unlike the hardware ones that are instant. I've also got lag everywhere else in the phone.. Don't know if this is a side effect

I've managed to freeze my phone many times just going through the app drawer so...its not a side effect.
I actually get around 700ms worth of lag using hard keys so I don't feel a difference. But yeah for some reason the only work on some apps...
Personal opinion. If you want a nexus feel then you would use it. But its gonna tale a while till I figure out what's wrong. I'm still working with framework-res.apk at the moment

see, i sold my broke first and when i was doing a factory reset and testing to make sure none of my info was present, the nav keys became persistent
So to make the be active 24/7 you MUST DO a factory reset....or maybe just a dalvik wipe, but i did a full reset and they worked fine.
you need to write script (i don't the commands) to enable it after qemu.hw.mainkeys=1
Auto Hide Soft Keys 's Spoof Soft Keys option can enable it via hack, so there is a way to activate it on boot when it doesn't show
