Stock software? - Sprint HTC One (M8)

Long story short I got a lemon, and have to restore to stock. I know there isn't am ruu available but is there anywhere I could get stock files? I don't care about flashing them separately.

There's a system dump, but that's about it (and you can't flash that).
You can send it back with it updated with the OTA. Just flash stock rooted, it should be fine.

I'm gonna reset my hboot, recovery and s-on. I'll take the su out of stock rooted. Thanks cap! Your files have been a lot of help.

Returning to stock

Hi all,
Thinking of selling my i9000 soon (to upgrade to an S3), before I sell it. I'd like to return it to a stock rom and unroot it (currently on CM9), which stock rom should I use? How do I unroot it, and how do I remove all my personal information?
Thanks in advance
Rob

Thanks! Do I need to use a PIT and repartition? Are there any things to look out for since I'm going from ICS to GB, or is it just the same as flashing any other Odin ROM?
Sorry for all the questions
There is no problem to go back to gb from ics if you use odin.just flash it and you are done.

Excellent! I read somewhere a while back that there was, must have misread it...
Thanks!

I thought that it is not that easy because some ICS use different filesystems.
If you want to get back to gb custom rom it's difficult.odin is used to flash official firmware.

I'm on CM9, do you know of this is an issue with this ROM?

Ahh, because I would be using CWM for most custom ROMs?

There is no issue ,use odin to go back to unrooted gb and then root it and install whatever rom you want.

This one will help you. As I said it is not that easy and needs some patience from you, but you will succeed.

Use odin for flash

Phone shuts down

This happen twice on me both times I had to hold power and volume down than the phone just wakes up. Also both times this has happen I was riding my bike from work listening to music and it just shuts down. I'm wondering if anyone else had experienced the same problem or if anyone knows why this is happening. I'm considering calling sprint and swapping for a new phone.

I would flash different sense rom, just to rule out the phone hardware problem. After full wipe of course.

ViperRom is solid, I have been running it with no issues at all since the phone was released. Maybe you didn't wipe properly before flashing or maybe just a bad flash, last thing I would consider is hardware. Try downloading the Rom again (don't flash the same download again) wipe and flash and see how you get on.

I agree with volk and try a different rom. Just remember no 2 phones are alike, What works well on mine may not work at all on yours. Odd, yes but true.
I flashed cleanrom last night, and just a few minutes ago it happen again. I'm starting to think it's a hardware issue

Have you tried locking the boot loader and then running the RUU and starting over?
Not yet haven't had the time but this weekend I will be able to. My plan is to unroot, undo s off. stay stock for a few days see if the issue disappears. Than root again and if that fixes the problem than I'm keep my phone if not I'm swap phones.

Running RUU should not affect s-off but it is known to fix many issues people have had where flashing new roms didnt fix the problem. I would try it over anything else at this point and then root again and flash away and see how you get on.
Mine also . Can anyone let me know how to relock. So I can use RUU.

OTA updates for custom recovery

Hi,
Is it true, that phones with a custom recovery don't get OTA updates?
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
They don't get updares by the manufacturer but custom ROM get updated way faster. There are tools which can download these via OTA.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
Well, I don't have a custom ROM, I just unlocked the bootloader of my HTC One and installed a custom recovery to get root.
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
You can re-install stock recovery, which i believe will allow OTA updates again.
OK, I see. I used the all-in-one kit to unlock my phone and install a custom recovery. So I thought I could just flash the stock recovery using the kit as well... But where would I get the stock recovery?

Actually the phones with custom recovery still get OTA updates as long as still using stock ROM.

OK, thnx. So I'll have to wait and see if I get the 4.2.2 update.

Correct! But you still need stock recovery to install the update.
You are driving me crazy... So what good is it to receive the updates if I can't install them?
OK, so I still need stock recovery. So the question remains, how so I get the stock recovery?

Where can I find 3.30.651.2 stock recovery?

Looked through a few threads and couldn't find it. I want to take the 3.31.651.2 update. I realize I should've backed up mine, but sadly didn't.
