[Q] Phone bootlooping after attempting to installing a sense 6 ROM - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I recently rooted my 100% stock sense 5.5 phone to get sense 6 but EVERY rom I tried putting on there is getting stuck on boot loop or having htc dialer fail and eventually freeze.
I am using twrp 2.7 like all the roms ask to have 2.6+
Am I doing something wrong, why isnt it working? I have not been able to use the phone for 24+ hours, please help
UPDATE: Even my backup with the OEM HTC rom is unstable and bootloops every few minutes, I also have no sprint service.

I recentlly rooted and updated my One to sense with rom AR HD 62.0 to get rid of a very frustating bug with sound and i must say i'm very disapointed. There are a lots of bugs that i find are very annoing, for ex when some one calls me 1 out of 5 call the ringtone is working for 1/2 seconds and then it mutes. And if u read u find out that sense 6 is in progress for Htc One and will be released my the end of june..Btw u should use twrp 2.6.3.3..
Hope this will help you and sorry for my bad english

I only see twrp 2.7 on their website? Btw, you just unlocked the phone and installed the recovery and rom correct? No changes in the firmare right?

Running that rom now. Its amazing. You should def. Try to s-off your device. Not sure if that's the reason for your issues. Usually that is the case for most kit Kat Roms. No issues like the others said though. You should be fine if you flash TWRP 2.6.3.3 that's the standard now at least. :good:

I dont know if Im honna S-OFF my phone..I dont think this is the problem ,I will wit for more stabillity and than refla****.
Glad to hear I helped u and u're amazed by the rom.Hit thx button if u like!Hope to here news from u with the new rom

I think it's to do with the radio, someone said that in the alpharevx chat.
did they say how to fix?
is it in the alpharev x thread?
can you link?
how long do you wait for the white htc screen?
I took quite a while for it to load, ill say try reboot and wait for 30 mins
and make sure u have ext4 if the rom require ext4
and i dont think that your phone is bricked
same here...
hi, i am in the same boat as you are. I s-offed through alpharevx, great work btw! I also rooted through superoneclick by means of gingerbreak, also great work! thank these guys so much. Here comes the problem. I downloaded rom manager from the market and installed clockworkmod recovery through that. and i attempted to load a custom rom through the recovery tool. it went fine without any error. however, when i try to reboot, i get the htc logo on white background.... I flashed partition using ext4 formatting tool from here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1088498 , i also flashed the radio specified in this post....but same thing, stuck at "htc"... help...
you have to install 4EXTRecovery_v1.0.6_modded_CWMR_v4.0.0 first. you can find the steps here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1104765. when I tried with just Format_data_partition_EXT4 I got the same results as you
Thank you! I tried the other recovery you mentioned. worked like a charm! Thanks.
once you've flashed, let me know if you still have earpiece volume with the custom rom. And if you do, did you flash a new radio?

[Q] Constantly restarting at welcome screen

Hello guys,
I'm in a bit of a pickle here....
I've got a HTC One which I've rooted and unlocked though not S-Off by the looks of things and I had SinLess rom installed fine, it started playing up so I though I'd update it. Bung the new one version on there via sideload and install... Marvelous.
Only now, it gets to the welcome screen as silly ol' me did a factory wipe as well as all cache and after about 5 seconds of Welcome - Choose language. It restarts.
I then decided to try a new rom, so grabbed Android Revolution. To no avail either....
On bootloader it shows as HBOOT - 1.54
S-On
**TAMPERED**
**UNLOCKED**
What can I do to actually get a working rom on this thing?
If there is any more details I need to give please say so as this is my first time flashing something as complicated as this. All my old android devices were far far simplar :crying:
- Here's the facepalm moment - I didn't do an nandroid backup due to it not working and I wanted to put a new ROM on there so I didn't look into getting it working. If I could injure myself I would.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. :good:
Kind regards, Ian.

Hey your'e stuck in a boot loop, its usual
just download a good stable rom
clear data/ cache
flash the rom and you'll be out of it,
If this thing doesnt work out download the orignal RUU and get back to stock

Yeah, after attempting to install 3 different roms.
Sinless, ARHD and SkyDragon, I'm going to try a different recovery as I'm currently using TWRP 2.6.3.3 and I know there is an update but also I want to see if CWM can do anything with the 6.0.4.3 version....

Hello,
To no avail, after trying different recoveries, nothing.
Looks like I've got a metal slab...
It just keeps restarting itself at the welcome screen, the only other thing I can think of would be to fully wipe EVERYTHING on the phone but I'm not sure that's too good of a move either...
Argh.
You have to be s-off to run these Roms

[Q] Black screen after ADB sideload

hey guys, i could really use some help here. I've been having a ton of trouble since i tried to change my ROM recently. I got bored of Beanstalk and tried carbon with i didn't like and didn't work well.
Long story short, I got to the point where i had twrp 2.5 installed, i could use fastboot, recovery, etc. But i couldn't load into the phone, the carbon logo would show and it would restart. So i tried sideloading Android Revolution HD 31.6 and when that finished the screen the screen went black, so i resarted the phone to try and flash the rom "sideload.zip" that was in my root. But it just started flashing carbon again. So i tried sideloading Android revolution Hd again and then it went black after it said 100% complete on the computer terminal. Now i can't get the phone to do anything but have the home and back button flash when i hold down the power button for a long time. I can get anything other than a black screen.
Help!
Okay, i did get it to restart this time when i tried "adb reboot" in the terminal, though that didn't work before. But now it's still stuck in the carbon loop. What i need is a way to load android revolution on to the phone so i can flash it.

flash TWRP v2.6.3.0 and you should be ok.
Android Revolution is a gsm rom will not work on sprint unless it's 4.3, i think it's supported 4.4 will not work! make sure the one you flash has sprint support.

Ok so i can flash it now using twrp 2.6.3
But it then gets stuck on the "HTC ONE" logo screen then restarts after a while.
And the ROMs page says "Yes, you can. The ROM will work on all the variants except Sprint, as it has some significant differences. Sprint is supported only with version 31.6 as of now. WiFi calling is available in version 31.6."
And that's the version i have.
could it be a firmware or kernal comparability problem? If so how would i fix it?

Htc one can't go back to stock

Hi everyone, I 've successfully installed cm11 using Qbking77 tutorial with the CyanogenMod Installer on my htc one but after having some problems with music playback and battery life I've decided to go back to stock.
I've successfully relocked the phone but I can't find the exact Ruu file for my phone and I've tried with other similar ruu but had no luck.
The phone is S On HBBOOT-1.57.000 RADIO -4T.29.3218.08 OS-6.09.401.5
The phone is also stuck in boot loop and recovery mode does not work.
I have found a guy with a similar problem in this site and someone told him to try to run the firmware first and then try to flash TWRP, now the problem is after downloading the firmware file when typing the cmd command adb reboot bootloader it says that it can not find any devices. I'm not really sure what to do now.
Any help appreciated!!!thanks

Firstly, have you enabled usb debugging on your phone? And have you downloaded the most up to date adb drivers and the most up to date HTC drivers?
Because you are s on you cannot flash to downgrade your firmware
Also as your bootloader is now relocked, you cannot flash TWRP either. The bootloader needs to be unlocked to flash custom recovery
There is no RUU available for your phone, so the best option is either a guru reset which will also install stock recovery, or a nandroid backup

about the usb debugging if you are talking before the boot loop happened, yes I had it enable.
I'm gonna try one of those options to see if it works and then I'm gonna report back to let you know what happened.
btw thank you for the reply.

You are welcome, haven't fixed anything yet but come back here again with how things are going
The only way your going to get any function from adb is through recovery, using the sideload method. You should get yourself TWRP and flash using fastboot, then boot to recovery and side load a stockish rom, say viperone or the like. I choose not to run CM or any other AOSP rom for the reasons you listed in OP among others. I currently run ViperOne comming from CM and the battery life is not even comparable. Going back to stock is going to be tough per with your version of hboot s-off is not an easy task as of yet.

I'm quite new to this things so I don't understand much about it, but do you recommend installing a different rom rather then going back to stock? to be honest after all these problems I've had with cm11 I would prefer going back to stock :/

You need to unlock your bootloader first via HTC dev and then flash TWRP recovery
Reboot to recovery and choose to sideload a Rom via adb - download a sense Rom of your choice. There are plenty to chose from
Unfortunately, your going to have a difficult time going back to "Stock." You can use a custom recovery to flash a "Stock" rom, as stovie_steve mentioned, a sense rom. To you the phone will be "Stock" the only difference here is your warranty is void .

I unlocked the bootloader and rebooted the phone and everything seems to work fine. But now I don't know what I should do... Now I don't think that I want to go back to stock because it looks a bit difficult and I might end up doing something wrong and brick my phone. Is the viper rom good? I've got cm11 but as I said the battery is draining fast and I still got the music playback problem. Is it hard to install another rom? If it's not I'll probably do it.

Step 2: flash latest TWRP
Step 3: flash the ROM you downloaded
Step 4: **optional** to obtain s off, use firewater or sunshine
Thanks for the help I'm probably gonna try to install the viper one

Personally, ViperOne is the only sense based rom I will use. Its loaded with goodies and stable as they come. But there will be no harm in flashing many roms until you find something you like. Try Viper, do some shopping around, simply do a backup and flash whatever.. dont like it restore your back up. Just remember to have a current back up always. I keep ViperOne and CM installs on the sd as well as backups of both, never know what mood I be in, have the 64GB so I dont mind 5-10GB tied up by these things. Its up to You but Yes I recommend ViperOne,

[Q] 4.25.651.14. problem

Hello guys!
I have been using my SPRINT M8 for almost a year now and I barely managed to get it all to work internationally here in Europe (GSM).
Currently I am using custom recovery (sorry guys, I really forgot which one it is now exactly) and android 5.0.1. Software version right now on the phone is 4.20.651.10. Everything was finaly working flawless for some time. The phone is not rooted (problems rooting it, if I remember well it is an well known issue for Android 5.0.1.).
Of course, now HTC wants me to update to 4.25.651.14. but it just won't let me install it. The notification keeps popping out no matter what I do.
Any advices please? I am realy busy lately and just don't have enough time to dig deep into the forums for this. I found one custom recovery with this newest update but it requires me to have newer software than mine already installed.
I appreciate your hellp, thank you.

You have to flash the stock recovery to get the OTA update to work, it won't work through custom recoveries.
