Gear 2/Gear 2 Neo Watch Styler equivalent? - Samsung Galaxy Gear

Ok. Ive waited....Ive watched....Ive listened. And to no avail. WHO DO WE HAVE TO BRIBE TO GET A WATCH STYLER TYPE APP FOR THE GEAR 2/GEAR 2 NEO? I mean its not like its a super expensive device like back in the old days when over in the sprint s3 forum people were making donations to get their favorite devs the phone so they could work their magic. WHO WANTS TO DO THIS FOR US??? I for one have $25 to put toward the first guy to make this dream possible for us gear2/gear2neo owners. WHOS WITH ME?????? Heck....charge 5 bucks for the app....YOU CAN MAKE A KILLING! IF YOU MAKE IT....WE WILL BUY! LOL. but seriously. sorry for the rant. but with everyone constantly touting how "easy" it is to create apps for tizen using the sdk.....why has no one done it??

I'm totally with you on this, I just got my Gear 2 Neo watch and did a search for watch faces and found that Watch Styler app but it only works with original Gear. (lame).
Is this due to it no longer being Android based and now being Tizen?

Android child mode

Ok so Christmas is sneaking up on me and I'm thinking of getting my son (almost 3) one of these cheap android tabs. I was thinking of the innotab or leap pad but for its price i feel an android tab would do so much more and would be something he wouldn't grow out of in 6 months time.
So does any one on here know any good child mode apps i could use if i get him one? I wouldn't want him destroying the tab by changing all the settings and buying apps and sending emails to people etc.
I'd like an app that would boot into kids mode upon start up and that would be easy for him to access basic things like games and camera and coloring apps etc etc..and ideally a function where i could monitor his usage and see his progress in games and drawing...
Please help
Ps: for the people that think I'm mad, i am. Don't judge me for giving him a tab. I won't get an expensive one and even if i did, it's my money so no criticism please!

You can't just use any one of the several "kiddy" launchers already in the market?
It took me 3 seconds to find this one with many more available.
Must resist urge to criticize!!.....
Can't help it!! Guy, he is barely three!!! Get him tonka truck or legos!! If he is anything like my three year old, he will have more fun with the box it came with then the tablet.

+1 Why can't people let kids grow up at a normal speed, rather than trying to magically make them become a geek by the time they're 5? Kids spend far too long staring at television as they grow up, give him something that will get his imagination working and get him outside in fresh air.
Yeah ive seen one i like the look of called kytephone. I found that one here on xda.
I was mainly after opinions on what people use for their child. And what they liked about it.
And although he's only 3 he's very clever like his daddy lol and it will hopefully stop him using my note.

Edit: this thread isn't going as i hoped. I will not stick him in front of the tv all day nor will he have access to this tab 24/7.
We do play outside, we do have fun that don't involve technology so what's the harm in him earning an hour or two tab time?
I'm after advice not criticism so can we get back on topic or shall i close the thread?
Thanks
You should probably get him something like this.
Additional link here.
Cheap and has toddlers in mind with it's design.

^^^This big time^^^
Children need to play outside and socialize. Its only going to do them good in the long run.

I agree with the earlier thread.....
I just bought all 4 of my kids the nabi2. It is sporting tegra3 processor etc..... very rugged. $199. I even play games on it. Extremely easy to root. My oldest is 14. He even likes it. Mainly because he doesn't have to worry about breaking it.
It has nabi mode. In it you control content etc.... and "mommy mode" is just your basic ICS.
Check it out.
Thanks for the replies guys!
As for the haters, yes he will be in nursery, yes he will play out side, i don't lock him in his room and feed him through a hatch!
He's 3, he's clever and if he behaves he earns a reward which will be playing on the tab. It's my money, my child, my house and my rules.

Checking out the watch while talking to people

Hey
Too often I find myself checking out a new notification on my Pebble while talking to people, but they don't know what the Pebble is. And it makes me feel as it looks like I'm checking out the time because I'm so bored from this conversation.
Am I alone?
Sent from my LG-D802 using Tapatalk
I think it'll still be the same message if you pull your phone out to check for notification.
I think it's less rude to check the watch but I have no data to back that up lol.. My gf said that they both are rude. She is vice president of a bank or something she knows better than me I'm just an artist

Fortunately for me my friends already know what a tech nerd I am so it isn't a big deal.
i use to have that issue but now people tend to notice the bone jarring vibration soundin on my wrist lol
I tend to look at people when they are talking to me so they know that what they are saying is important. I expect the same treatment in return. With that in mind, when I get my Pebble for Christmas from my wife, I will try to look at my notifications in a way as to not insult anyone. I'm a tech and am always am playing with some new tech toy, but when a user comes into my office, I drop everything and listen to them.
Just my two cents

I agree about respecting someone by passing attention, but I found myself in a very casual conversation with a coworker and I received an email so I looked at my watch. Obviously if it's a work related or important email that takes priority over just chatting but I still felt kinda bad checking it.

Got the same look, I was in orientation at my new job, that's what the person doing the orientation thought. Got a comment that pointed to my being rude in a nice way, so I explained that it's a digital watch and I was just checking the notifications etc.
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
Usually, I'm moving my arm while the notification is scrolling up or I dismiss it quickly, so people see the motion and say "hey, that's one of those new smartwatches, right?"
It's interesting, because at first most people said smartwatch or Pebble; with the release of the Gear, I've been hearing people ask if it's a Galaxy Gear. Power of marketing for ya.
Funny, that's what people ask me also "Is that a Samsung Gear? "
Sent from my QMV7A using Tapatalk
Yeah. I'm getting tired of people asking if my watch is a cruddy gear lol.

I keep getting asked everywhere I go, "is that the phone watch? Can you talk to people, is the speaker loud, can you watch videos, can you take videos?" Ugh. No. It's just for notifications, people!

Lol first world problems XD
i dont have this problem yet because my friends are aware of my watch and they see the backlight go on every time my watch have something to say to me
Family and friends know about my watch. I tend to get asked by strangers. Which is odd considering I live in NYC lol

Yeah. Not a waste of money in my line of business. I work in the oil field, and a lot of the times, I leave my phone in my truck to keep from breaking it. So it's nice to have a device that lets me know if I'm missing something important.
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
Actually, it provides more than just notifications. I use it as a stopwatch and a timer for sporting events. I can control music playing from the watch. I use it for Google turn-by-turn navigation. I can control the phone's camera to take pictures. With the upcoming Pebble 2.0, there will be many exciting app development opportunities. The Pebble will be able to pull data across the web without companion apps on the phone. And Bluetooth LE will be implemented, thus reducing battery consumption.

Nothing officially Confirmed.... Just rumours at this time. Samsung always has a lifecycle of 1 year on their products. The original gear sort a speak is just released and not even on its full potential.
I really think it will at IFA Berlin.....
Do not think we need another thread on this topic.
Introduce the S5 the next Gear.
Summer start shipping.
May get the next Generation of Gear, IF IT IS WORTH SPENDING $300 or so on an upgrade in the Fall.
We do not need multiple threads on this out of date and old information.

How on earth...

Do we have a little computer we wear on our wrist and NO ONE has created a Pipboy theme yet?!? Anyone feeling up to the task? I quit my Photoshop habit too long ago, and my wife would leave me if I dove back in, lol.
There has been two. Look in the stickied topic "show us your gear watch face"

How about using a custom widget maker such as uccw or zooper? You can add whatever text next to the time data that you want.

Because if I were to make it, it would probably be bland and mundane. Basically the app I mentioned earlier is kind of dynamic, the insults and stuff are randomly generated. With Zooper Widgets I would make one that would be basically the same all the time...
The app I am looking for is free, but it says it is incompatible to my Gear, and I don't know where I could just download it. Even if it were paid, I'd be willing to give an acceptable amount of money to own it, that wouldn't be a problem

I tried downloading swear o'clock to my phone and then used Bluetooth to stick it on the gear. Sometimes apps will install and work but it couldn't parse this app. Sorry I couldn't have been of more use.

I know man, I tried the same thing myself
Used Apk Extractor, it totally worked. uninstalled it from the phone, was able to reinstall it through the extracted apk on my n3. sent it to the gear... cannot parse file. argh
Any new ideas? please? I am willing to buy an app if needed, I just really want this!!!
Working on it
Hey, I am the developer for the original Drunk O' Clock for Pebble. I have good news, I'll be releasing Drunk O' Clock for Android Wear before Christmas.
any updates on the app, will you keep us updated and tell us when it is released?
Sorry guys
Hey guys, really sorry about not getting this out for Christmas. Some family matters came up that have eaten up all of my time, but it's mostly over and I'll be able to work on it soon. Hopefully have it out in a week or two. Will keep you posted for sure
Back again
Hey again. I've gotten a little work done on Drunk O' Clock for Wear, but haven't gotten too far. I have 3 clients and it's exam time at my school so the only free time I really get is the 10 minutes before bed to read Cosmos. Of course I'll keep you guys posted but it might be another few weeks. I shouldn't be longer than the end of this month.
Sorry again. Thanks for being patient.
Actually working on it
Progress on Drunk O' Clock for Android has actually progressed. My friend Tarwinder has taken on the task and is progressing through it at quite a fast pace. You can keep track of the progress and try out new betas on our betas community: https://plus.google.com/communities/100705267662549485766
Thanks for the patience!
