[Q] Htc One BRICKED.

After only four day of having this phone i managed to brick it. I would really like to know if its fixable or if i have a really nice paper weight. Im stuck on a boot loop, I was half way through flashing a rom when it suddenly shut off. Now it will not boot up. I can load into the bootlader but when i try to go into recovery it just sends me to fastboot. When i restart the phone i can see the old recovery (TWRP)for just an instant but then the screen goes completely black. If i plug in to my pc, nothing happens my computer detects it but it says y device is damaged nd it cant identify it. PLEASE HELP Am i out of luck?
Ive looked around but i couldnt seem to find anyone with the same problem as me (Sprint Variant)

I really hope so because on a college budget i cant afford another phone D:

Seen this in a couple of other places. Seems certain recoveries are possibly becoming currupted during flashing a new ROM.
What you need to do it get back into fastbboot, and....
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot erase cache
the re-flash your recovery, boot into recovery, full wipe and reflash your ROM.

When i go back into fastboot my only options are
-Bootloader
-Reboot
-Reboot bootleader
-Power down.
I appriciate the help!

i suggest you contact with HTC customservices to repair this problem.

Can you flash recovery in fastboot ?
the safest thing to do is relock and use a matching RUU to get back to stock

Your phone isn't bricked. There are two tools in this forum that can help you. One is made by hasoon2000(I think that's his user name), and the other is jwtool(I think). Use them to help to flash a recovery if you don't know how to use fastboot.

I cannot. My computer wont recognize it. I re-installed the driver and it Says my device malfunctioned.
Im giving up hope here.

Edit: Just got done typing the stuff below and saw you can't connect to your device in fastboot? What do you mean by re-installed driver?
Don’t worry, as long as you can still get into hboot your phone is not completely bricked!
The fastboot commands I referred to need to be carried out on your laptop/pc when you phone is connected in fastboot.
Can I assume that as you have already unlocked bootloader and flashed a custom recovery you are already familiar with this and have your computer set up for fastboot commands?
(Apologies if you already know some of this, best not to skip parts out though!)
I’d start with downloading a fresh version of your chosen recovery, and place it in your fastboot directory ready. I’d also do the same with your ROM.
Like you have already done, boot into fastboot. Connect your phone to your pc, and the red text should change to ‘Fastboot USB’.
Then open up command prompt and get to your fastboot directory. (On Windows 7 you just find that folder in Explorer, hold shift and right-click, then choose ‘Open command window here’.)
To check your pc is talking to your phone, type ‘fastboot devices’. You should get a device serial number back if all is well.
Then type ‘fastboot erase cache’ and hit enter.
Then type ‘fastboot erase recovery’ and hit enter.
Then type ‘fastboot flash recovery [name of recovery].img’ and hit enter.
Then type ‘fastboot reboot recovery’ and hit enter.
Hope fully you should successfully boot into recovery now. Once in recovery, mount USB storage and copy over your fresh ROM. Choose to do a full wipe including cache and dalvik, then reflash your ROM.
Reboot.
Let me know how this goes.

I used the hasoon2000 to flash TWRP earlier, but my problems is that my pc wont recognize my phone. When i plug it in it and try to re-flash it it cant find it. When i check my devices it shows up as an android device but it says the drivers are damaged. if i could get it to read it i think i should be eable to reflash somethint.

Hey so just a thought and experience I have had with all my HTC phones is when you see that quick glimpse of the TWRP recovery screen then it disappears to an empty black screen......you are sometimes still in a form of recovery but during your Rom flash something (i don't know for sure) changed and it doesn't show the screen only black. So with that long explanation out of the way....have you tried once the screen goes black the
"adb devices "
Mine whenever in this situation would return the output of serial number and recovery so then you can push or sideload the Rom and boot into the system at which point your fastboot drivers will finally be recogniZed.....

I'd say the next step is to re-install your drivers in the SDK. Open up your Android SDK and reinstall them. In Windows Device Manager, find your connected device (probably now with an exclamation mark on it) and right click on it and select 'Update Driver'.
(Assuming you are using Windows 7 here?)

when you are in fastboot, connect your phone using the usb cable, and when you see "fastboot" written in red turned into "fastboot usb" or something like this, do the commands below using cmd window of course :
1) fastboot erase recovery
2) fastboot erase cache
3) fastboot flash recovery recoveryname.img
4) fastboot erase cache

(Win8 but the procces is identical.) All my drivers are up to date. Still no love.

On the dev forum is a thread that includes all the latest drivers (including an app to remove older drivers.)
Find that thread, download the drivers and bmp and driver removal tool. Remove drivers with tool, install the new drivers, reboot, connect phone and see if 'adb devices' finds anything.
Also make sure you're using the latest adb.

This actually sounds really similar to my situation.. Would you care to be a little more specific on the procedure? noob here.

My pc will not recognize my phone. The drivers are up to date but when i plug it in it says something malfunctioned ?

[Q] Moto x flashing recovery snafu - please help

RESOLVED!
so I just got my moto x dev edition, unlocked the bootloader, and then screwed it up...
i tried flashing the recovery as described here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2458451 but didn't realize/understand that fastboot and mfastboot were not interchangeable. it looked like it went ok, but I wasn't able to reboot into recovery. so, now on boot to recovery i get the little android on his back with a red triangle. i'm pretty sure that the stock recovery is gone, but cwm is not installed either. which brings me to my next little problem...
so i did some reading and got mfastboot installed and thought ok I just need to reflash cwm on phone again. problem is, now the phone won't stay in usb debug mode so that i can see it when fastbooted. that is, when i reboot the phone into fastboot by holding the power/vol down I can't see the phone when doing 'adb devices', and whem I let it boot up i see usb debug is switched off. when i switch it on, then i can see the phone from adb again, but when i try to 'reboot bootloader' it gives me a not allowed error.
at this point i'm just sick and afraid i bricked it. i am coming from a galaxy nexus and never had anything like this happen before. i truly appreciate any help here, at this point i feel like puking and dreading telling the wife i just blew 450.... :-/
ps i'm on mac 10.7 so if i need rsd it will be via a virtual machine....

so, if i understand you correctly, u've held down the volume down button and power button? becasue that's your fastboot. That's where you need to be to use RSD, and that's what i'd do.

ADB commands aren't used in fastboot mode. You should be able to see the device in fastboot mode with the command fastboot devices. Also, remember that the stock rom will try to restore the stock recovery when it is booted so if you flash recovery in fastboot mode then let the stock rom boot it will reflash the stock recovery which shows you the little droid and the red triangle.
You should still be okay though. Shut the phone off and boot into fastboot manually with power and volume down. Reflash the recovery. I know there are warnings about using mfastboot but I used standard fastboot before I saw those and didn't have an issue. From the fastboot screen after flashing the recovery, use volume down to get to highlight recovery and then press volume up to select, not power. Power will just do a standard reboot.
If you flashed twrp recovery then rebooting system will prompt you to install su. I think clockwork does the same thing. Letting the recovery install su will also prevent the stock recovery from getting restored and from there you should be good.

i can reboot into fastboot, but adb can't see the phone. I'll start trying to setup rsd and and see if it can do any better. any good links you know to get up to speed on that would be appreciated. if you know how to simply reflash the recovery via rsd that would be helpful too - thanks in advance!

the sites that I know of are for the device I have, a non devliper edition... I don't know if it makes a difference, I don't wanna make anything worse.

Help i soft bricked my phone

I started to root my phone this morning. I did the HTVDev unlock, flashed twrp, then tried to flash viperboy's disable RW system protect. This caused my phone to just hang at the HTC screen. I let my phone die and was able to get into my bootloader and fastboot. I tried to push the rom via adb but I kept getting the error of no device connected. Then i tried to flash the stock boot.img though fastboot. This brought me back to the HTC screen but now when I plug it in to my computer it shows up for everything and it installs drivers but the HTC MTP Device fails. Now I cant send commands to reboot through fastboot or adb. Im currently waiting for it to die again to get back to twrp or the bootloader. Any advice on how to proceed?

Likely no need to let it die -- a hard reset (hold the power and vol down for a very long time) should bring you back to the bootloader (hopefully). It'll seem like a good long while -- keep pressing.
From there, select 'fastboot' and press the power button, then plug in to your computer (USB). That'll show USB on the fastboot line.
Then, on your computer, open a command window (presuming you're using Windows) in the SDK platform-tools directory and type:
fastboot devices
If that gives back your device ID, you're at least at a reasonable fastboot. I'd flash a good recovery (I use PhilZ, and while it might be foreign to you (CWM style), it lets you load a ROM via OTG cable over USB if you have such a cable -- if not, hopefully sideload works for you in TWRP if you stick with that) -- just to be sure you have a good recovery.
Then, reboot into recovery.
Your kernel (boot.img) apparently is garbage, so hopefully you can either put a ROM on USB and flash from that (OTG) or adb sideload it. All the ROMs normally have a good kernel so would flash your boot.img properly during install. Were me me, I'd flash O.M.J's stock rooted ROM just so you at least get back to some place of sanity).
If that all fails, you might have to RUU and start over.
Let us know and we'll help out.

ok. can you use adb push in fastboot? also i noticed that my captive buttons blink when i tried to turn off my phone. don't know if that means anything.

OMG it worked! Thank you so much. I uber appreciate it. Today I learned a ton about how android works and how to use adb and fastboot. While the processed about gave me a heart attack i did learn a lot. I can not believe how great of a resource xda is. The knowledge of everyone on here is incredible. I cant thank you enough.

Cannot get into recovery mode [bootloop]

Hey I cannot get into recovery mode, I don't really know why. This morning everything was ok: I rebooted my phone into recovery mode as usually, with no problems. THEN I rebooted my phone from the custom recovery, and then my phone went to bootloop: The bootloader screen went to black, then to my lockscreen and then to the bootloader screen, then to my lockscreen... etc. (bootloop)
I rebooted into recovery again and tried to do a normal wipe, because usually that's everything I need. But nothing happened: bootloop again.
So, I went to recovery once more to perform a full wipe and erase the data. Then I tried to flash CM13 and the Gapps, but nothing happend. Now, I cannot get into recovery, I'm stuck in the TWRP screen.
Help?

It's easy just flash a newer version of Twrp using ADB fastboot from PC = problem solved

I just flash a new version of TWRP and even the latest version of CWM but nothing, same problem. Bootloop in recovery's logo.
I asked to someone else in my city but they told me that the problem it's the motherboard

Thanks bro, but I just tried that, even changing the recovery for CWM, but nothing happened. I'm still stuck. The screen blinks with the recovery logo.
I have no system, so... Maybe I'm totally bricked. I don't really know if I can flash some ROM with the fastboot

Stuck in Fastboot

Ok..so here's the situation. I was going to install a new ROM ( my son got a new phone a iphone ) but any ways. As I was in TWRP i did everything we all normally do but the phone died mid flashing GAPPS. when i went to pulg the phone to the charger and restart the phone i see that it started to boot up the it jumped straight to FASTBOOT and it's stuck. I can toggle through fastboot but that is it. when i go to restart it will show the boot animation but then goes to fast boot. it wont go to TWRP nothing. I've combed XDA and found the multi tool but don't think that is working or i might be using it wrong. the computer doesn't recognize the phone. im trying to get this phone back up and going and give to my daughter . any help is greatly appreciated. thank you in advacne.

adb never works in fastboot mode. You'll have to use the fastboot command.
On the PC, try
fastboot devices
to see whether the phone is available. If not, check your drivers - I believe that fastboot uses a different USB driver.
With fastboot, you can't install zip-files, only image files. So download the stock factory image, not the OTA.
