Storage Ether Widget for Android Phone and Tablet
Update 1.5.1
New in Update 1.5.1
*** FINAL UPDATE ***
I have decided to give this dinosaur one final update to enable external storage reading on Android 4.4. Thank you everyone who has downloaded this little widget over the years, but I don't intend to develop further features for it anymore.
What's Changed
* READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, so that it can get the size of your SD Card on 4.4+
* Increased font size a little as average devices is pretty HD these days.
* Progress bars are now larger (as above).
Oh - Also. It's FREE.
*** SEWidget is now FREE ***
Thanks to everyone that has supported it over the years, unfortunately I have shown it no love and it never gained features, I did work on a Pie Chart view for a while (easter egg: find an activity launcher to check out .InfoView) but once Google started adding storage graphs to Android in Honeycomb, I didn't see the need for this feature. Now, the SD card is all but dead, this widget will soon have no use. While it still does, please enjoy the now free SEWidget.
Storage Ether Widget 1.5
Storage Ether Widget is a configurable storage capacity and usage indicator widget for Android phones and Tablets.
The widget gives the option to set any foreground and background colour using the integrated colour picker. Progress bar can be set to one of several colours.
You can choose to display all three, two or any one of the storage items on your widget or even use multiple widgets, with different settings.
If you have any problems, suggestions or feature requests feel free to contact me and I will be happy to help.
Widget now supports from Android 2.2 Froyo to Android 4.x
Please show your support by leaving a good rating on the market if you like the widget.

Just purchased your app, love supporting our devs. As I said on your other thread the only thing lacking is to be able to change the color of the green lines, then it would be perfect.

I'm working on it, it's a little difficult with the stock status bars because to customise them you need drawable xml's but I want to allow full colour selection like the font and background, once I get it working consistently i'll definately add that as a feature.
It looks at the moment though I may just end up creating custom progress bars.
thanks for this. ive been using the widget for storage ether 1 and 2 for a bit now. im getting the market version today.

No problem, hit me up with any suggestions on features or changes you would find useful in every day use.
thanks its useful
Neo, just got the widget and noticed I had to reboot before the option to add to my homescreen appeared.
Was the feature where when you clicked on the widget a breakdown of the storage was shown was removed. Now nothing happened when I click the widget.
Also. My lines are orange and all the screenshots show green. Didn't know if there was something wrong with mine. I have a US 3g zoom, rooted with tiamat hammerhead and oc'ed tachi kernel.
Widget looks good though.
What's the difference between the storage and data lines? They show the same for me

This is a different application my friend, this is SE Widget, it's just the widget from StorageEther and is configurable. The reason the bars are different is because it supports all phones from 2.3.1+ and so doesn't specifically specify the "holo" theme for tablets. I can add it as an option though if it's wanted but I intend to work on a custom progress bar implementation with any colour possibilities. As for it not showing up until reboot i have just tested on my XOOM, my Desire and my SGSII, on the phones it shows up immediately, on my 3.1 xoom I had to reboot, I will look into it.

Ha, thanks! It was done in a rush while i was 5 minutes late for dinner!
OK, good deal thanks for the quick response.
Lol
I hope the cancelled orders are because people are deciding to rob it as opposed to having problems downloading it etc, but some feedback would be nice
widget is working fine for me. its a staple of my homescreen set up.
Please show your support guys by leaving good ratings on the market, feature requests are also welcome.
Version 1.1 has just been released with progress bar colour options.
With your latest update a week ago or so the external storage won't show. I'm using a Xoom on 3.2. Sdcard is at /mnt/external1/, I enter that and it shows not present - any ideas? Thanks again.

That's strange, there were no changes to the storage code, it was all UI.
Can you try mounting at an alternative location? I'll look into it once I finish work today.
EDIT: Did you re-add the widget after update? The update would likely break it if you didn't because each widget is assigned an ID when it's added, if that's lost on update, the widget no longer has the correct path.
I've uninstalled it and reinstalled and I've cleared data and cache. I'm just really stumped, someone else on our forum, Xoom Forums, put the same location as I did and his shows the sdcard.

Yep, works on my xoom just fine too, that's very weird. Are you using the market version?
Can you use a file explorer to double check the SD card is there and maybe get a logcat?
I am rooted and I can't seem to get more than 3hrs screen on time and the screen set to auto.
I have seen some crazy stats so I am wondering if rooting the phone is causing battery issues.

Why don't you unroot and go back to stock to compare? It would be interesting to see the difference.
I might do that

I am experiencing the same exact situation. It's extremely strange considering the Note 3 and Oneplus One get at least 5hrs. I can't figure out what is going on.

I used greenify and wake lock detector as well. I did that when I was only getting 4hrs of battery life total. That got better but 3hrs is the max i can squeeze out of it.

I hear you but I can switch to my Oneplus for free lol. I'll figure it out without better battery stats. I just don't have this problem often enough to pay 3 bucks for a possible fix.
This is what my daily usage is pretty much like and the battery life is pretty bad.

BAD ASS NOTE 4
Yea. It's connected to my Moto 360 and my car periodically. I always have bluetooth on for pretty much every phone I've had in past 4 years
You sound like somebody that needs some firekat.
In that thread there is post after post about incredible battery life.
Since you're rooted and all.

Why the heck not. I'll give it a shot. I ran stock and got 3hrs of screen on time and now i'm running dynamic kat and getting the same screen on time. I've seen quite a few people with much better screen on time on stock rooted roms too. I'm not sure what is going on with my device but I suspect it has to do with my crashing the phone when I first got it. I was stuck on a Tmobile screen when I was trying to root the thing. Not sure what happened but I'll give this firekat a shot.
To be honest its the set up that I like the most
I don't think you'll be disappointed.
In his op2 he talks about battery life among other things:
Thanks Ickna11 for the awesome banner
In my op2 I like to share apks, apps, mods, tweaks, ringtones, and hd backgrounds...if you post to the thread I'll add it here to the op2...im always adding kit to this op typically every few days I'll add a new zooper widget, background or apk...enjoy
My personal setup step by step...
For the absolute most optimal setup follow these few simple steps to take FireKat to a whole new level and make your Note 4 run unlike any other...enjoy
I've had so many requests for this here ya go...here's how I do my exact setup...absolutely most optimized possible
....
1. Uncheck Force Gpu Rendering in developer options...about phone, click FireKat VXxX(whatever build your on) 10 times to unlock dev options
2. Use Wanam and Xposed to deactivate Dvsf under Advanced in Wanam...dramatic boost in responsiveness, lower running temp, no screen dimming or cpu throttling
3. Change Animation and Transition settings in developer options...set all 3 from 1.0x to 0.5x. ..another huge boost to responsiveness and speed of any launcher
4. Greenify all downloaded user apps...Dont touch system app/don't activate greenify xposed mod
5. Disable the follow apps
Samsung Push Service
Google Chrome
Google Books
Google Magazines
Google Music
Google Hangouts
Google Plus
*obviously unless you use any of the above
6. Install latest Google Play Services apk...def seems to have lower battery drain that previous few apks
https://mega.co.nz/#!eBhGUCQZ!YhezCU4UCvZXrTOFoltAivWXV4uYBPP1GSIwo1YpX4U
7. Disable google location history and location reporting...doesn't affect maps or g now at all only stops a ton of data mining and wake locks
8. Do not use power saving mode...it defeats the optimizations and tweaks I've done to make the battery life so awesome
Enjoy the new build...latterly for those who want v1 on crack and steroids...use multicore controller or setcpu to max throttle the cpu to 2.7 ghz full time on performance governor lol then you're head will be spinning
Mega
As for the rest of my setup. ..op2 is a standard...ive done that forever every single flash exactly the same...
Honestly I don't do much else I let the rom do all the work...
For battery life: greenify is all i use...i greenify everything except widgets like zooper pro, live wallpapers like aurora or ocean weather, root apps like setcpu root explorer ect, ...which is mainly widgets, wallpapers, and root apps...no system apps
NO TUNERS CLEANERS RAM CLEARERS ECT...these are all counterproductive and usually cause more drain than good..
I also do not freeze or uninstall a bunch of apps from my system. ..i only do the few listed in op2
Never use power saving mode on my roms
Disable google history and reporting in location settings: doesn't negatively impact google maps or now, all functions and cards work. ..just no excess data or location pings
For performance
I use multicore controller: interactive governor
2700 ghz max
1400 ghz min (although recently increased due to excess battery life) i charge at night and since v4 on every other night getting about 4.5 hours screen on over 36 hours total
Animations on kk esp 4.4.4 are drastically slower than 4.3...thanks google for seeing ios8 and thinking that's the direction we should go in...[emoji107]...
I always change my animations to .5 in dev options
I use setcpu with exact settings as multicore controller to adjust io scheduler...use ROW io setting
themes
I uses to theme tw by coding and hated it tbh...because I love changing themes...wanam is by far my favorite mod over greenify setcpu ect...i could so without cpu controller as the roms already so quick...but wanam gives you an insane freedom to theme as you see fit on the fly
Zooper widget pro is def my favorite app becuase of the same reason with wanam. ..the freedom to have the s5 widget on nova or g3/g flex widgets on N4 ect...or the freedom to go off an get creative makes for a one of a kind device....
That's truly the key...i give my setup as a guide for how to lean it out, speed it up ect...but love watching what everyone does with the same blank canvas...
My favorite background ever is none 1 Aurora Live Wallpaper ripped and posted in op2 for everyone...my favorite theme lately has been the beach theme on my n4
S5/n4 AccuWeather are my favorite widgets ever...up with note 1 5 day layout one...but im not a big fan of the centered transparent n4 one tbh
Stock apps:
I'm actually a big fan of the stock Keyboard on n3/n4 that's what I use plus I use the s pen a ton so it's easier...i hate the new sms theme for the most part but love the clean look and use...with apps/services like email and sms browser i tend to a stick with stock becuase i like most of the apps, they're quality, optimized in the build and run well...it's a little different on stock admittedly but on fk
I do have swiftkey and google keyboard. ...new Google keyboard is hideous imo lol
I also have javelin browser for a second browser option
Def us stock camera since i optimized it the shots are just phenomenal...but i do like the lenovo apk i posted in op2 that's a pretty cool point and shoot replica style ui to play with. ..that's the thing with most stock replacements i have or try it's just a secondary give it a shot once in a while thing for the most part for me...i like most of tw and tw apps tbh
The rest of my apps are games or junk...hopefully this covers most of what op2 has in more/different detail plus any additional information you may find useful. ..let me know about anything else you may be interested in...ill be home again after this around 6
**Customize Your Kit for FireKat V5:**
Mixer Path Scripts: these scripts are the stock system volume controller scripts that are setup so that all you have to do is simply use root explorer pro or root browser to paste them into system etc folder but doesn't lose the audio quality enhancements...they'll merely lower stock system volume
System/ect/ simply click paste into /etc/ folder...overwrite mixer_path...yes...set permissions for new pasted Mixer path and reboot...
**you can copy/backup v5 Mixer path if you want
Stock volume with sound quality enhancements in tact:

Medium System Volume Script with sound quality enhancements in tact
https://mega.co.nz/#!nAAzQazC!ogDmjjU3VBQwdA-3j4cvHNyZy4AMNLRWbB0wh5G6Ah0
I also modded the 4x4 stock tw launcher as I'm not a fan of 4x4 esp on n4...too much wasted space it looks stupid...imo 4x5 is awesome...i love 5x5 as well but that can make some widgets act screwy...so v5 is 4x5 layout heavily tweaked and fast...here's a modded tweaked original 4x4 layout if you're a fan of it...
To install simply use root browser or root explorer pro
System/priv apps/ simply paste and overwrite the TouchWizlauncher.Apk...set permission of pasted 4x4 launcher and reboot
...will prolly add modded 5x5 as well

Which build are you running? ANK4?
I'm hoping this will turn into a thread of Applications that have AMOLED specific modes, not just "dark" mode that work for our Nexus 6.
Cabinet Beta:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.afollestad.cabinet&hl=en
Demo at the 1:00 minute mark:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s6WkPRUNaBg
K-9 Mail has a global dark theme:
https://github.com/k9mail/k-9/wiki/Manual-GlobalSettings
What else have you guys found?
Don't have any apps to add to the list but this sounds like a great feature request that we could make to the developers via the play store.
Loving the cabinet beta. Looks freaking good on my note 4 and nexus 6 .
Thread Closed for promoting, linking, and posting instructions on how to use warez / paid apps for free.
Anyone involved in encouraging, using, linking, attaching, giving instruction on installation or ANYTHING to do with any paid app or premium feature that has been cracked, will have their accounts reviewed for restriction or removal. Warez / distributing paid apps/premium features for free is STEALING, and not tolerated in Xda.
Hello! I've been going around XDA looking for everything I can get to get as close as possible to Samsung's One UI, the new design language to be released alongside the Android Pie update. As most Samsung users may know the beta for Android Pie and One UI has been released for the Galaxy S9 and S9+, but not for any of the 8 models. Because of this I went on a search to skin my UI to the point that it might as well be One UI. (Aside from all the apps, unfortunately.)
I'm going to make a list including links to everything I've used to get to this point.
Before we get started, to install most of these leak apps, you'll need App Cloner, which is unavailable in the Play Store, so I've provided a download for the App Cloner I have. After installing this, we can get to the interesting stuff.
A reminder that all of this requires NO ROOT.

Here's the App Cloner link.
Mod Edit: Link removed
First off, we've got the most obvious (and easiest) one. Samsung Experience Home 10. This one just requires an app cloner install, fortunately though, XDA has already done that for us right here https://www-xda--developers-com.cdn....com/download-samsung-experience-10-launcher/
A big thanks to them for getting the cloning process over with. After downloading the apk file they've provided simply install it, clear the cache/data and set it as the default launcher. You should end up with something like the screenshots. I recommend the Home Screen Grid to be set to 4x6, and the App Screen Grid to whatever you like. I kept it large to have less pages to go through when searching for apps. I set the grid to 4x6 to further match the render from the One UI apps section on the samsung website.

Clear the cache and data and then set it as default.
Mod Edit: Warez instructions and trial breaker video removed.
Is there anyway to import your Home Screen setup from the old Samsung Experience?
Now we have the clock tweaks. This one will require substratum, so if you'd rather not dive into that stuff then feel free to skip this one. Substratum is free but Andromeda is paid so I've included my Andromeda apk.
The first one we'll want is called clock tweaks by @AL_IRAQI. Head over to this page to download it. https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6p/themes-apps/mod-center-left-clock-o-t3614824/
You'll want to select and install Left Clock under clock placement in System UI. This will give us the clock on the top left in the status bar, rather than the top right. The next tweak we'll need is called System Mods by Draco. In addition to what we'll be using this tweak offers various other changes, so I suggest you check some of those other ones out. You can get that here. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=substratum.draco.systemmods You'll want to install Remove Status Clock AM PM under System UI to remove the AM/PM next to the time. This one is purely optional, but it matches better the One UI render.
A trick I learned from another member named @dj_iiml is to uninstall all tweaks before rebooting as instructed, and then reinstalling them. Reboot after this and the overlays will stay even after a reboot. I also got the clock tweaks info from his thread here https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-8/themes/note-8-one-ui-look-how-to-t3867346

Unfortunately, I don't think so. Simply because the system doesn't see them as the same apps. I'll look into it and see what I can do.
Let's move on now to Pie system apps. Email, Calculator, Notes, Samsung Browser, Samsung Health and weather are the only ones I've gotten to work besides the launcher. Email, Calculator, Notes, Samsung Health, and the browser can all be installed from apkmirror, but the weather app needs to be downloaded from a ported dump and cloned. https://mega.nz/#F!j5pGSa4Z!wmDI6Ozacrq4yNBl4WlNgQ This is a link to the entire dump, if you want to experiment with other apps, otherwise https://mega.nz/#F!j5pGSa4Z!wmDI6Ozacrq4yNBl4WlNgQ!2th2TALZ is a link to the Weather app only. Just press open in browser to access them. Once you've downloaded the weather app, clone it in App Cloner, install it, and then manually allow all the permissions via settings, you CAN'T allow permissions through the app itself. You can then add a widget to the home screen. It will be the second weather option, because you'll have 2 weather apps. Credits to @corsicanu for the ported files, their original post is here https://forum-xda--developers-com.c...sung-pie-leaked-apps-ported-to-t3856098/page1
Finally we'll apply all the Good Lock 2018 changes. First you'll need Good Lock 2018 from Galaxy Apps. Once you have it downloaded there are 2 apps you'll need to download from inside the app. TaskChanger & LockStar.
First we'll use LockStar to edit the lockscreen. Pick any background you like, and any layout you like, because we'll be changing the layout in a bit. Once you have everything you want, including the clock, you'll want to tap Edit at the top right and arrange the clock and notification bubble like the screenshot below. After you've done this select the plus icon at the bottom right/left of the lock screen and pick what apps you want to be accessible from the lockscreen. Once you've done all this, go ahead and save & apply the lockscreen.
Now we'll move to TaskChanger. Switch it to 'In Use' and then select the scroll effect. I chose linear, but you can pick whichever one you like. Now switch 'Blur Background Effect' on. Now you're all set. You've finally gotten as close to Pie as possible before it's official release. If anyone has any suggestions for other apps or changes to make it even closer to One UI then write it in a reply. In my next post I'll write more optional, less important features that don't get you too much closer to One UI. Thanks for reading this thread and I hope all went well,
Cheers,
RSLPride
LESS IMPORTANT TWEAKS
ClockFace - Good Lock 2018
Clockface provides a few more options for the clocks on the Always On Display and lockscreen. None of them are the stock One UI clocks, but you might find them a little more similar to the One UI clocks.
One Handed Operation + - Galaxy Apps
One handed operation + provides gesture navigation, a feature that will be in One UI. The only problem? The bars are on the sides. This is the only reason I've included this in less important tweaks. In One UI the bars will be on the bottom of the screen, replacing the Navigation Bar.
Battery Percentage - Settings
In setting you can turn off the battery percentage under Display > Status Bar in Settings. It gives a cleaner Status Bar look, but it isn't required.
Search Bar - Google
Make sure you have the latest beta for the Google App installed, then go to the more tab in the app and select 'Customize Widget' select the color palette and then select the Black G on top of white. Then go back and select what looks to be a multi-colored water droplet, and then move the slider all the way to the left or to See Through. This will give your Google Search Bar on the home screen a more One UI look, but it isn't needed to sell the look.

Um. You do realise XDA isn't a fan of warez/cracked software.
Sent from my LGE Nexus 5X using XDA Labs
Surprise ! Received update and installed.. seems good for now. But feels WIP in a few areas. Needs 1 update to complete it.
Downloading
Snap or Exynos?
India has exonys
the new icons on the notification panel look cartoonish
got the update, a lot has changed, and I am impressed with Samsung. Good Work.
Not impressed.
1. Quick settings design is back to Touchwiz
2. OneUI is inconsistent. Even Samsung apps like My Files still have key interactive elements on top still.
3. Icons and color scheme back to cartoonish touchwiz
4. Broke Samsung apps like Goodlock and lost all customizations including some themes.
5. Dont really get the OneUI concept. I know that I'm opening the Message app. Do I really need to waste half the screen with a message telling me I'm in Messages?
Etc etc
