Hi guys, I need your help :/
Been using android since 2.0, but now that my mom's phone is acting up strange, I have no clue how to solve this issues.
The phone has the standard and original 2.3.7 samsung rom with touchwiz.
The problems are the following:
- The phone does sometimes not accept calls, diverting the call to voicemail. In this case, the phone is powered on, showing full signal bars. Nothing unusual.
- Sometimes, a call cannot be placed. Signal is at full, but as soon as you try to make a call, the phone wont connect the call and the signal is lost immideately.
Only solution that I have been able to find is that to turn off, then turn on the phone.
- As the screen is small, I installed her Launcher 7 and added 3 widgets. A lockscreen widget that locks the screen, the circle battery widget and the simi clock widget (covering 2 tiles). The lockscreen widget is working great, but the circle battery widget keeps freezing up, as does the simi clock widget. The clock widget unfreezes when you get it in focus (when you show the tile, as it is covered 90% of the time due to the small display size), but the circle battery widget only unfreezes when you turn off and turn on the phone. After that, 20% of the battery is missing.
- Occasionaly, the battery wont charge, with the phone saying that it is charging on the lockscreen...
My hunch is that deep sleep is messed up, dissallowing the phone to wake up properly, freezing some of the services.
Does anybody have a other hunch, or even better, a solution?
As far as using custom roms, that is out of the question. The phone is company owned and it still has its guarantee.
Rooting might be an option though, but I would like to avoid it.
Thanks
Have you tried factory reset? If it won't help, try updating phone with kies. If that fails, use odin and flash official firmware.

i dont want to lose any data on the phone, nor do i want the flashing to be registered because of the waranty.
any other options?
tried using only 2G networks - didnt help!
Just check wit ur sim card...
Bcoz droping calls iz due to sim card error...
Try to flash the official firmware for your region using odin..
If this dosent works .. thn there iz prob wit ur sim card..
Go to ur carrier gallery & request for a new sim..

I flashed asylum rom and sometimes(not every single time, more like periodically) when i try to unlock my phone, the screen would flicker and go blank. i will have to wait for bout 30 sec b4 attempting to unlock the phone from black screen.
I have Noled app installed but i am not sure if this app has anything to do with it. Would appreciate if anyone could enlighten me.

Its nothing to think about... reflash and my gutt feeling say that the reboots disapear.
If not, via odin make a flash to stock.
If that didnt help.. it may be a hardware issue..
No worrys i think.

Hi.
Yes.. if you dont wipe you could inheret the fault.
Factory wipe and then install rom.
Your other hang problem could be fixed to i think. Who knows in the end?

Maybe I just found another possible cause for this long lasting problem. Sorry for bothering this old thread again.
I reactivate old but gold Samsungs with 4G by flashing the most recent stable cfw available. So I did with some SGS3 LTE and I was wondering, why every phone had problems with it. One just curiously lost EFS wich led to continously booting (could be fixed by restore), one had a sudden problem with the powerbutton (could be fixed by soldering a new switch), one just didn't like the SoC-standby (setting kernel to min. 800MHz fixed that) and finally today I found the last one to have a problem with the screen. When the screen blacks out due to energysavings primarly the system loses the connection to the digitizer wich is not the main issue. But 30 seconds after the display shuts off, the standby comes in not so handy and the screen gets a short circuit wich leds to a reboot. So I tried to exchange with a shattered display with broken touch and, oh wonder, everything is working fine. I then connected the suspected display to another mainboard and guess what? Yes, it rebooted exactly 30 secs after the screen blacked out.
Is anyone here still on this device and can replicate my sightings? I'd love to use /e/ on all of these cute little thingies and maybe someone else could do this also by just replacing the display?
...a few facts to add: I tried "keep display active during charging" (development options) over night connected to a powerbank and it stayed on. Just locking the phone made it go nuts and reboot 30 secs after...
Hi,
Like the topic says my Galaxy S1 keeps freezing when the screen turns out. I can press any buttons there will be no sign of a working phone. I always have to remove the battery and plug it in again. Then I have to restart the phone to be able to use it again.
I have cm10.1 nightly. I used the build of 27.02 since yesterday. Always worked since 1 or 2 weeks. Now I tried it with an update to the build of yesterday. Still no change.
Does somebody has a clue what to do?

I am having an issue where my WiFi will randomly turn itself on. I turn it back off and it will turn itself back on again. This is very annoying to say the least.
I am running Meanpop V 2.15.
Anyone have any ideas?

Flash the kernel again or a different kernel when the issue is not solved. Be sure the kernel/rom is not corrupt.
